In Chasing Spirits

Rate this book
The third book in a supernatural mystery series by the author of Thrown Away, Diary of the Displaced, Arisen, and Dustfall.

When Jake discovers a set of old tapes in one of the attics
and plays the first tape, something ancient and dangerous is awakened.

This is where the lost go.

There are hidden places in our world where both the strange and the evil lurk. Few discover them, and even fewer escape with their lives. Some turn the wrong corner or walk through the wrong door and are never seen again.

I really enjoyed this final book and the entire Afterlight series. But, I never really understood why Afterlight was included as the last three books of the Diary of the Displaced omnibus edition as the connection between the two series seems only tangential. However, once done with "In Chasing Spirits" I was led to Glynn James' Facebook page by a link at end of the book. On his Facebook it says there is a connection between the two series that will be explained in coming books. That made me feel better until I realized not much has happened on James' Facebook or Goodreads pages since the Covid pandemic. Like many other authors he seems to have been knocked off his publication schedule by the pandemic. I can only hope this outstanding author is out there writing furiously on sequels to this and his other series. In the meantime, I can wholeheartedly recommend Diary of the Displaced, the Afterlight series and James' other fascinating series to other readers. Here's to hoping he will publish a follow-up soon!

love this addition to the series

This series is just so good. I like the dark ambiance and read it in white txt over black as it should be imo. Now I have to wait for the 10th installment. Damn!
