Step into a heartwarming and wholesome romance series. The What Matters Most series is a feel-good read that will take you away on a wonderful adventure.
In a way this keeps going in circles but it still keeps your interest. The author is good at that, no matter how many twist & turns she makes. Edna does care about her daughter. She proved that when she left when Julia had her accident when she was 5 years old & she took off shortly after. She has her eye on another prize & it isn’t her daughter. She calls & says she has a court order allowing her to see her daughter, but is it real?? She comes with her lawyer who she claim is her fiancé. So Roger says he & Abbey are engaged. Oh no! After everything that has happened & he has said to Abbey is she going to go along with this??? Did he overstep? What now?? I can’t wait for the last book! This should be good.
I received this ARC Book for free & I am giving my review for free in my own words.
This is the fifth book in this series and they need to be read in order. None are standalone books but each one builds upon the previous book and what a great story they tell. This was another over the top read that had me downloading and reading it in one sitting. There is a lot of action, new twists and turns, the introduction of new protagonists and believable character development that has you cheering this new set of friendships on. I hope they go to the lodge in Alaska so we get a peep at what's going on in the lives of characters in a previous series. I received an ARC of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my thoughts on the book without influence from the author.
Great story and the author is doing a great job on adding new twists and turns to her main characters lives. Finally Abbey and Roger have both acknowledged how they feel about each other and everyone, even Lisa and Laurance went out with Abbey to VT after her father fell and hurt his back. Julia and Andrew have gotten close quickly and Julia even asked Andrew if she could call him Grandpa. He reciprocated with of course, he was hoping she would. All was going well until a call came into her parents house from Mindy....a major dive in the rollercoaster story ride of this story! Anxious for the next book!!
Received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.
Roger's ex-wife and her lawyer come to the manor wanting to see Julia and have legal papers to take Roger to court for custody of Julia.
The ex-wife and her lawyer get into a disagreement and she strikes her lawyer. She is arrested and taken to jail. Eventually the lawyer drops the charges and she is free. She wants revenge.
Abbey and the rest of the group plan to take Julia to Alaska for a vacation. However, Abbey gets news her father was hurt, so the vacation is put on hold.
Once Abbey knows her father is going to be okay - the trip is back on until more bad news is received and they have to go back home.
The saga continues. I like the fact that the author referenced the characters in her previous series. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
