Daddy for a Day
A daddy for a day is better than no daddy at all, right? Garvin loves his job running the local animal shelter. For a short book, they met each other quite late which makes the beginning was mostly boring. Also, so many info dumping. The insta-love didn’t work here. I love that trope, but this felt off and awkward. Didn’t have any buildup that supports their attraction. The Daddy for a Day scene was mostly fade to black. They claimed they shared intimacy, but it’s hardly there. Besides, this didn’t focus enough on the ageplay or their love for each other. They had a really cute scene at 80% but by then it was pointless. I read this for the sake of my favourite kink, and obviously disappointed.

As is usual in this series, we have sweetness, warmth, and instant connections, with adorable pets (the 4-legged kind) and lots of a "little's" favorite food..."chickie nuggies" with ranch.
It starts with serious damage to the animal shelter that Garvin runs and leads us to him connecting with Chained, the local kink club, to do a fundraiser...and this leads to meeting his "Daddy for a Day"...which turns out to be more than just a day. It was an adorable blend of Daddy/little time as well as the strong building of an adult-time relationship. Of balancing careers and simply finding time to be together. I loved the "three besties" in this story. A dog, a cat, and a pig that also find their "forever home."
Each book in this adorable little series, (no pun intended), can be read as a standalone. They all fit into Della Cain's world of stories featuring the two kink clubs, Chained and Collared...as well as characters, (littles and Daddies), from the other books. The only small thing that sometimes bugs me about the stories is the language the "littles" use while in that headspace. I don't think an actual 3- or 4-year-old would use some of the terminology that these "little" are sometimes shown to use. Any way...these are all short, warm, wonderful ways to make new friends and visit with old ones. I think I'll take my "snuggie" and "binkie" go see if I can find some "chickie nuggies" and ranch while I wait to for the next book. If I go check, I probably will find that I already own it:)

April 9, 2023DNF 84% Don’t want to sound like a book perv, but off page sex is off putting. Why am I reading MM romance if not for the sex? And the passion and romance. When the book delivers very little and then resorts to off page sex, it is disappointing. From the book: “…when it was time to say goodbye to little time Daddy f’d me in the shower as he told me how good I was. I never came so hard in my life. Best. Day. Ever.” And that was it, that was the scene and the end of the chapter. Next chapter begins with a workplace scene. No time for after sex cuddles with these two busy career guys. And that was their first weekend together. There is too much page time given to animal shelter repairs for one MC and office remodeling for the other MC. Both places are filled with other people. Where is the Daddy/boy bubble of being alone for relationship building and totally into each other for more than a day or two? The writing has no spark, it’s just serviceable.

This was a really sweet book I loved Garvin and Chance together. These two had a really sweet instant attraction to each other and as the book progresses, they find they have more in common and can't help but fall and fast. I really liked how Chance and Garvin connect not just as DDlb but also as a romantic couple. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for more from Della.

Very underwhelming.
First they meet quite late for a book that short and there’s almost as much about the animals shelter as there is about them.
Then the daddy kink is really light. And it’s another one of those stories where I feel they get together more because they happened to find someone who share their kink rather than because of a deep connection which is quite annoying…
The sex scene is one page with 1 line exchanged between them (boring 🥱 )
And there was one thing that was so ridiculous I’m still thinking “why?”: the daddy MC decides on a whim (it’s so fast I didn’t even realize it happened and thought I skipped a page) to adopt not one but 3 pets at once! And not just 3 cats, no, he comes to the shelter to give his boy some stuff for the animals and goes back home with a cat, a dog and…a pig! Sure! Makes sense! I’m pretty sure shelters don’t let people adopt without checking that you know what you’re doing/have the space,…but also who is this weirdo who thinks “oh yeah I’ll take those 3 animals home even though I know nothing about how to take care of a pig?” He also just met them, doesn’t know their dynamic, their habits,…It doesn’t make any sense AT ALL.

OMG this book is so cute
Garvin was running the local animal shelter. And he was doing a brilliant job one day there was a tornado that ripped through the facility. Thankfully all the animals were safe but it left them in a real predicament. Garbing is a little and since he moved for the job he hadn’t tried out the sister club called Chain’s to see if he could find a daddy. But when he rang up Miss Lily offered to do a fundraiser to help gain money to make the facility safe again and buy the replacement food that had been ruined.
And this is where he met Chance.
Chance had been happy finding a little to do scenes with but seeing his friend Bridger with his little Hudson ( book 1 ) he wanted a little forever. He visited chains on the night that there was a fundraiser and it was really busy, he nearly bumped into Miss Lily and a gentleman in a suit and he was instantly attracted to him but Chance thought that he was a daddy not a little. But he got a really nice shock when the gentleman came out dressed as a little to do his presentation for the rescue shelter. Chance knew that this guy was for him. When he got talking to Garvin about him being a daddy for the day. they started playing together and they went out for a quick meal after the fundraiser it was obvious that they were both very happy with the coupling. They exchange phone numbers so Garvin could let him know he got home safely and that was the opening of them keeping in touch.
And that’s just the beginning of the book and that’s all I’m gonna say because I don’t wanna ruin it for anyone but this is so sweet. They connect so well Chance is the perfect daddy for Garvin. He is patient he is understanding and very loving. And Garvin is the perfect good boy that he’s always wanted. And I have got to say I was very taken with the Besties. A good read can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Did Not Finish
May 14, 2026went into it hoping for a sweet and spicy age play romance but instead the writing left a lot to be desired. the characters weren’t well-characterised, their past was totally unknown if not for a couple of things that were disjointed and randomly put, the setting wasn’t exciting, the supposed “off-the-charts-chemistry” between the two MCs wasn’t portrayed at all, the spicy scenes were insanely brief and short (some even close-door or described in one sentence), and the age play wasn’t explored as much or as thoroughly as i was hoping. all in all, it’s clear that it was a book written hastily, and whereas i don’t necessarily think novellas and short stories have anything inferior to longer books, age play is a kink that relies heavily on the feelings of safety and comfort. Going from complete strangers to Daddy and Boy in the span of a few days with barely any negotiation or hesitation or even a sliver of uncertainty feels very unrealistic. I don’t expect a chapter-long conversation on expectations and limits and needs and wants, but at least a couple of pages so that we (readers) aren’t left thinking that the MCs just read each other’s minds. It could be avoided if the characters had a longstanding friendship or something to indicate that they already have a good understanding of each other, but in this case it’s just a fairytale that i found very difficult to follow

Garvin runs the local animal shelter but a fluke storm damages the shelter and puts its future at risk. Club Chained is the local kink club and as a member, he gladly accepts their offer of help. Chance is done travelling for work and now he is ready to settle down and give a little the time that they need - he just needs to meet the right one. Chance accepts the invitation from Club Chined's adoption night knowing that he will at least have a little for the day which might then translate into longer.
I enjoyed this short story with the adorable Garvin who was under so much stress for the shelter and badly needed a way to relax and recharge as well as the guiding hand of a Daddy who could give him rules, boundaries and love. Chance was a lovely Daddy who just wanted to take care of his little and I loved their first meeting in the club and how he just took care of Garvin and gave him what he needed (which was just something simple). This MM story contains mature content and is a BSDM-like DDLB story involving chicken nuggets and footie jammies.

La chance est faite simplement en ayant des dates de jeu au club local. C'était bien quand il était dans la grande ville et qu'il voyageait constamment pour le travail. Il n'a pas eu le temps de donner un peu ce dont ils avaient besoin. Mais il est prêt à s'installer. Son nouveau travail le maintient le plus souvent à la maison, dans un nouveau foyer, et il a récemment rejoint le Club Chained. Il ne reste plus qu'à rencontrer celui-là. Comme si c'était aussi simple que cela.

I really enjoyed Garvin and Chance's story. Garvin is a very capable manager of a local animal shelter who misses being a little. After a storm that destroyed part of the shelter, he is desperately trying to figure out how to keep the shelter going. After a conversation with Miss Lily at Club Chain, he receives a surprising offer that changes his life in more ways than one. Chance is a daddy who is finally ready to have a little in his life and meets Garvin at a fundraiser sponsored by Club Chain where Garvin bravely shows that he's a little. This is such a wonderful story, with a rich plot line, great characters, lots of heat, adorable animals, and a very happy ending. I loved it so much that I just picked up the book on one of the other couples in the story, Bridger and Hudson. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet daddy/little romance!

This book is part of the Daddies for Dollars series. I just have to mention that I absolutely love the series name! It definitely sets the tone for the books in the series. This is the story of Garvin and Chance. Garvin runs the local animal shelter. He is a little and is passionate about saving all the animals. Chance is a daddy and owns his own accounting firm. After years of always being on the go, he is ready to settle down. The two meet at a fundraiser to repair damage to the animal shelter after a hurricane. There is instant chemistry between the two of them. I really liked how they interacted. It was a nice change to read about a "good boy" instead of a bratty one. I also really loved that both Chance and Garvin are mature men. No 20 somethings in this story. It made for a nice change while reading. This book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it.

This is a warm blankie story. Garvin, balances the books for an animal shelter. He also helps out and loves on the fur babies when needed. Chance, has an epiphany and realizes he is no longer interested in playing with temporary boys. He is looking for his forever boy. A random storm comes through and creates major damage to the shelter. Garvin makes a presentation during a Club Chained Adoption Night charity event and appears in his Little personna. He impresses the attendees and especially Chance. This is a comforting story about facing challenges, finding creative solutions and having the courage to be yourself in new and unknown environments. Garvin shines in this story and Chance lovingly polishes him up.Excellent supporting characters. Great story, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What starts as a Daddy for a day may turn into more than either of these men ever thought possible. Garvin runs the local animal shelter and just as things seem to be going well, a storm puts the future of shelter in jeopardy. Chance is now at a point in life and career when settling down and finding his forever Little is a priority. He has the career in hand by being able to stay in one place instead of traveling all the time. Once they have their day, it is apparent they need and desire more. Will they be able to keep their spark going to reach a HEA which includes a new nursery for Garvin? Grab this sweet DDlb story and find out.

I loved Daddy for a Day Daddies for Dollars. Garvin is tired, the shelter he works at was caught in a tornado and needs more work than the insurance will cover. Also, he’s a little without a Daddy and he sure could use one, even if it’s just for a night. When his “club” holds a fundraiser he meets Chance, a smoking hot Daddy. They hit it off and Chance sees Garvin needs Daddy, for tonight and hopefully forever. Chance wants Garvin as a little and as a man. Can these two find love? This was such a sweet story and I loved the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

Wow, well this might be a short story but it was a goodies, the story had a great charm, and the characters were really amazing. It also made me sad when bad weather it took out part of an animal shelter. Galvin is a little he runs the animal shelter, he went to a kink club to raise money, Chance is a Daddy he wants his forever little, he went to the club with his Daddy friends, when he seen Garvin dressed cutely at the kink club he ends up talking to him the chemistry was hot. Will Galvin be able to save the animal shelter.

This book is a part of the Daddies For Dollars series and focuses on Chance and Garvin. Garvin is a little who runs the local animal shelter. When the shelter ends up damaged after a storm, Garvin is in need of help to get more funding for repairs and supplies for the animals. When Club Chain offers to host a fundraiser to help raise funds for the shelter, Garvin gets way more than he expected. Thanks to the fundraiser, he found Chance, a daddy ready to settle down, and they embarked on the future they had both been wanting for a while. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Garvin works at the local animal shelter and is also a little but only in the privacy of his own home. Chance is a CPA and a Daddy looking for a boy of his own. When they meet at Chained, a local LGBTQIA+ club, where a fundraiser for the animal shelter is being held, they have an instant connection and decide to give a Daddy/boy scene a try. They have instant chemistry and the book becomes fast paced but not too fast that you don't get maximum pleasure. I totally loved this first book in the multi author series full of daddy's and their boys. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next one.

Daddy for a Day
This was a sweet romance about a little who meets a daddy at a fundraiser, and has a date for a night. The fundraiser is for the animal shelter he manages, and it is very successful. When Chance, the daddy, comes to the shelter to offer help, he ends up adopting three pets and one little. The animals are cute, and the interactions between Chance and Garvin are great, both when Garvin is little and not. This was a great intro into the Daddies for Dollars series, and I’m looking forward to more!
This was a sweet romance about a little who meets a daddy at a fundraiser, and has a date for a night. The fundraiser is for the animal shelter he manages, and it is very successful. When Chance, the daddy, comes to the shelter to offer help, he ends up adopting three pets and one little. The animals are cute, and the interactions between Chance and Garvin are great, both when Garvin is little and not. This was a great intro into the Daddies for Dollars series, and I’m looking forward to more!

I enjoyed the set-up story of Garvin running an animal shelter that gets hit by a tornado and the insurance doesn't cover much and the local kink club agrees to use the shelter as their target for an upcoming fundraiser. Just so happens that Garvin is a little who hadn't visited this club and he meets the perfect Daddy... of course. I did kind of question Chance adopting a cat, dog and pig on a whim. Pigs are a lot of work and they don't stay teacup size, but on the whole, animals work for me in a story and it was what I expected.

I really enjoyed this daddy/boy romance. The first meet up with Garvin and Chance had me all in the feels. It wasn't anything spectacular or cringe worthy but real sweet and wonderful. Chance was the daddy Garvin needed at that time and Garvin gave Chance something he been craving for a long time. To be a novella, I didn't feel the relationship was rushed...their journey to the HEA was real nice and I can't wait to read more daddies for dollars.

I loved Daddy for a Day by Della Cain. It's part of the Daddies for Dollars multi-author series. I loved Chance and Garvin's story. I loved the instant attraction between them and how comfortable Garvin felt around Chance when they first met and took a nap on him at Chained after the charity auction. I also loved that Chance adopted The Besties, even before Garvin and Chance started their relationship. Chance was a great daddy, and Garvin was an adorable little.

Uncomplicated fuzzy and sweet read about Garvin and Chance who are both very busy with thwir careers. They both want a permanent relation to accommodate all their preferences and happen to find out that they are a perfect fit. Also there are enough fuzzy animals in the mix. This is a feel good book that lift my spirit.

Absolutely loved Chance and Garvin, and how the got together, thanks to the tornado!
Realised they both needed what the other had to offer, Garvin with his job at the shelter and Chance working all the hours.
The three besties were a great part of this book.
