GeorgeAnn Baseball is a recreation of an actual Major League baseball game that occurred on May 26, 1959 between the Milwaukee Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Taylor Jackson is asked to pitch his first varsity game on the same day he learns he is adopted. The baseball game becomes an emotional (sometimes humorous) struggle for Taylor to find out who he is, as well as an epic baseball struggle between two strong high school teams. Taylor pitches 12 perfect innings through a rainy Texas afternoon and with the help of friends and family, comes out on the other end with a renewed faith in himself, his teammates and his family.

My favorite writer is Jerry Spinelli, and I keep one of his books on my desk at all times for inspiration.
Elephant Summer was a work of passion that I hope influences and encourages younger generations and inspires a love of wildlife.
I also spend time with my dad on his site at baseballfarming.com. and it was his site that fostered the idea for GeorgeAnn Baseball, which includes the same three friends from GeorgeAnn, Texas (one of the boys learns he is adopted) and encompasses a re-creation of a famous baseball game played between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers (Hank Aaron was a rookie) from May 26, 1959.
My husband is a huge baseball fan so I've watched a lot of baseball over the years. Although this book seems to be intended for the young adult/teen reader, I have to say that any baseball fan would love it. It has the tension of a great game along with the emotions for a life changing secret. Great characters and a good message. Loved it! I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.
If you’ve read the first book expect more of the same…too wordy, too descriptive about things that don’t matter, awkward pacing and character development.
