Had the pleasure of reading this as an ARC copy.
It's been a while since I have read a shifter book and I am glad this book has thrown me back into the love of werewolves!

Without giving much away, this book was amazing! If you want a entirely different world to visit within the shifter books this one is a huge 'MUST READ!'

High five Emma! Now please give me the second book! I need to know what happens!!!!!!!

Wow where do I begin?

This is definitely my favourite book by Emma so far and I knew it while only 5% in. This one had my attention from the first page. The cover is beautiful, the premise of the story is well thought of. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I loved the multiple POVs as it allowed you to get a better understanding of everyone involved. There were a few declarations I did not expect but the major one I definitely predicted. I’m looking forward to book 2 because there are so many questions that I need to be answered. I believe this is the perfect start to the series. I loved Bran and his relationship with Raya.

I’ve removed .5 stars because I’m not a fan of repeated POVs I feel like they often ruin the flow of the story.

Emma is a wonderful author and I have read everything she has published, this being the latest read. I could not put it down once I started reading it and the character and plot build up from the beginning to end kept you interested. I loved that she created her own religion and did a wonderful job describing it. The multiple points of view made sure you knew what was going on from every angle. I cannot wait to keep reading this series when the next book is available and see how all the characters and their relationships progress. Thank you Emma for another wonderful read!

I’ve read Emma’s work since I found her on Dreame, and this one does not disappoint. This book does have triggers and comes with a warning, so it’s not for everyone. But I enjoyed the storyline, lots of fantasy, werewolves. Some smut and some classic romance.

The over all story has some drama and twists, the books ends completely differently to what I was expecting after starting to read it but it just a good in-depth cover of the story from many angles. I can’t wait to read the next instalment!

If you're looking for a read that includes an amazing storyline, prophecy, twists and turns, a strong female lead and romance then this book is for you.
Definitely a "must read".

Emma, through her amazing writing skills, brought to life werewolf kingdom which lives by very strict rules. I could picture it all in my mind.
I love the characters development and the multiple pov's that bring more depth and understanding to the characters journey and how they grow as the story progresses.


I can't wait to see how this series progress in book 2.

Okay, I want the sequel like yesterday. I love love love this book. It keeps you at the edge of your seat. It has a bit of a dark vibe and a little mystery, too. I love the world building; it's contradictory and unique. I also love the complexity of the characters, which I found to be quite unique. over all I love, love this book. The best I've read by this author, which says a lot because I love all her books.

I felt no attachment to this book. Unfortunately, I gave it a 2.5 star rating. I didn’t like any of the characters involved and the plot line just continued to repeat throughout the book when it wasn’t necessary. We didn’t need all four characters’ perspective on everything happening. The main relationship was quite cringey. The entire plot just seemed very cliche, with poor writing.

This is not like any book you’ve ever read before! The story had so many twists and turns I was holding my breath for most of the book! Emma is a true Master of her craft! She really knows how to write a villain that makes your skin crawl and that you love to hate! Do yourself a favour and pick up this great book!

This book is so good. I read under a recommendation of another author. And I was not disappointed. It was such a unique twist on the werewolf genre. I loved the religious aspect it was such an interesting point of view and very close to some human religions out there. I cannot wait for book two. Well done!

While the concept of the story appealed to me, the juvenile writing, multiple misspellings and errors and colloquial grammar that was incorrect (such as using all caps) made me DNF halfway through. It also dragged on, incredibly long book made longer by reliving the same scene from three different perspectives.

Could not put it down.

I pretty much read it cover to cover in a couple of hours. It was very good and I can’t even tell you what was very good about it cause there were punctuation errors (which drive me crazy) but I’m super invested in this story so for that reason, it got five stars. Not super steamy.

I loooove it! Emma has this way of writing interweaving the lives of her characters. That is not an easy feat.

Her cliffhangers are the best, will make you want more! And oh my goodness Brandon! Not going to spoil anything. Best if you read the book! Highly recommended!

I love reading the different viewpoints of the characters and the ones that are standing up for what they believe in. I was in suspense for most of the book and would often stay up too late at night. Oops. There is mystery and danger, with romance thrown in. A great supernatural adventure

This is a great start to an interesting and captivating series. I really enjoyed Soraya and Brandon's story. Soraya is a strong female lead, goes through a lot, and comes out on top! Brandon and Soraya will overcome it all in the end!! I'm ready for the next book!!

A Hidden Gem

I was given the opportunity to be part of Emma’s ARC and feel privileged to read yet another of her great books. I found the book well written, characters intriguing, defiant and loyal. The book itself was a werewolf cross Handmaiden Tale while keeping the story original. Well developed storyline and I’m looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

Wow! The Hidden Queen of Alphas by Emma Lee-Johnson is an incredible read. It has drama, romance, mystery, betrayal, and adventure. It had me excited to think I had the mystery and characters figured out, and then had me rethinking everything I already thought I knew about both the queen, the mystery and the characters we had been introduced to.

I felt for all the characters in this book... both good and bad, but Emma had me connecting with all of them. And she did an incredible job of making me question and change my opinion on the characters as we got to know them better, just like the main female leads do.

This book gave me feels! From fear and dislike to adventure and excitement. And a wow of what is to be discovered. She even made me cry.

💛 I especially liked what Soraya and Fallon wanted out of life and how they wanted more than the draconian standards the male leaders of their pack made them abide by. These best friends may be on different ends of the social class scale, but they both have the same laws and consequences to fear. I cheered for these girls to get what they wanted and deserved... to have the same rights as the men and be free to do as they pleased.

💛 I appreciate how I did a complete 180 in my opinion and like/dislike of characters, as do other characters in the book. Lee-Johnson kept me guessing as to what I should believe.

💛 The multiple point of views really added to this story. As not all characters are as they are seen by others, it allowed me to get to know the characters for who they really are and for what struggles they are fighting against and for. It allowed me to form deeper and more meaningful connections with the characters.

That ending and epilogue! 👑👑👑👏👏👏 I am so happy to know that there will be a second book. I am eager for the adventure to continue and to keep cheering on the Utopian Wolves pack.
