Rate this book
Murder, betrayal, revenge... and two people bound together across oceans, and time.
She has had the dreams since she was a small child, her parents killed in a shipwreck in the treacherous waters off the coast of Cornwall. The dreams are from another time and place, and a man who waits in shadows. They are an elusive memory that leave her with questions but no answers.
Now a young woman, on the eve of her marriage to a man she doesn't love, a mysterious stranger enters her life. He's dangerous, with secrets of his own, but it's as if he's stepped out of her dreams... out of that other life.
He's known as the Raven, the symbol that flies above his ship. He has a ruthless reputation and he's responsible for the loss of English ships and cargo across the English Empire.
Now, he's arrived in London, taking the disguise of a titled gentleman, with one purpose--revenge, the name of the ship he sails. But she is a woman from his past, a past life, lost a long time ago. She represents everything he hates and has sworn against.
Fate and time have set a different course for them, a collision course of hearts and souls where choices will have to be made about what they believe...

When I got this book to read it was my first time reading anything by Carla Simpson. However, it transported me back to my teenage years of hiding out in the high school library and devouring romance novels to pass the time.

When the book opens, we are immediately given a story that all but ensures we will fall in love with the heroine and root for her. Her story starts off in the most tragic way. But soon we learn Elyse Winslow is smart, independent, and will do anything for her grandmother. Even marry someone she doesn't truly love.

However, in walks Zach, the man Elyse has been dreaming about for years and everything changes.

This story is filled with so much depth and I absolutely loved the push and pull between the characters. I also enjoyed the theory of past lives it gave it a unique twist. The passion between Zach and Elyse was hot. This is the type of book that you curl up with and plan to spend the day uninterrupted to enjoy.

This was definitely one of the best books I've read recently with a well-written plot, great character depth, and a story you really wanted to delve into and explore. I was really happy I took a chance on this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A wonderful story of two lives lived in the past and the present. Zach is bound to get revenge for all that happened to his father. Elyse is living a life gifted to her. The characters are two headstrong and determined personalities. The plot focuses on their need to discover their true selves. It winds its way through love, revenge and deception.

Never Apart in Their Dreams…

Continents apart but dreams don’t lie- over & over the same dreams. A father with a mysterious past, a daughter who has lost it all, minus one. Their past is unmistakable- their future entwined together- and one despicable man that caused both of their losses. Revenge & Love

This is the first book by this author that I have read and found it very hard to put down. The plot was unusual and flowed very well. There was so much in this story you had no time to be bored. It went from convicts in Australia to the Ton in England and then onto a pirate fight. It was full of romance, mystery, and suspense. The character where well-written and very relatable. There was no sex in this book. The only thing I found wrong was this book was the geography of Australia. Fraser Is and the Great Barrier Reef is no were near Sydney. Overlooking that I would say this is well worth reading and look forward to reading more by this author. I received an ARC from Booksprout and freely give my review.
