I started teaching Ray's Arithmetic when my son was 5. By the age of seven, he had basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication memorized. The story problems are simply challenging and allow the student to feel accomplished in math. I love this set of books and use them quite often.

We've switched over to this series and so far so good. It is hard, but the kids like the challenge and they love, love, love the questions.
