Book 1 in my Carrero bonus book series. These books are a series of their own, as male POV extras. The much-requested favorite chapters from all three books of the Carrero Trilogy. Fans voted on my Facebook group on chapters they wanted to see re-written from Jake Carrero's point of view. All of these were shared on my blog over weeks and have now been polished and presented in an additional quick-read book. Please note that this is not a story, but chapters in order from various points in the romance, and you will need to read The Carrero Trilogy for this book to have any value to you. This is a fan-requested extra. This is not a complete story, but rather selected chapters and you need to read the Carrero series for these to have value to you. The Carrero Effect, The Carrero Influence and The Carrero Solution tell the story of Emma Anderson and Jake Carrero, work colleagues who end up as lovers and a roller coaster journey in the making.

Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV. A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit. She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions. She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides. Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'
After loving the series, could not wait to get in Jake's head. This book did not disappoint in drawing out what he was going through and gave a better perspective into his feelings causing the ups and downs in the beginning of their relationship. Just need more of his pov.
I was so excited to read this having read the Jake and Emma Carrero Trilogy, and having thoroughly enjoyed the previous books, I had high expectations for this book.
I was far from disappointed!
I was initially apprehensive about the idea of jumping forwards to the next crucial moment in thje storyline, but not only did this not mar my reading experience, it enhanced it. I could remember everything that had happened, and as the situations were well recreated, including details from the prior book in such a way as to allow you to both rem, ember and experience anew, This was very well done indeed.
I loved seeing Jakes perspective, It made the entire story more real somehow, so that we camn see exactly how each situation came about, and better understand the confusion and frustration that the characters went through.
It is one thing to hear a Character say that they thought the other wasn't interested, but experiencing the dynamic from both characters point of view gives a much more life like representation of the intricacies and hurdles that can ensue from very possible scenarios.
These are two people who are very unsure about approaching the other, and the misunderstandings of one another thoughts and feelings are very realistic, and easily believable.
I definitely recommend that anybody who reads the Carrero Series (and you SHOULD) read this after emma and jakes story, to give yourself a fuller understanding of the characters, and why they act the way they do.
I already loved these books for being unpredictable and for giving a much more realistic view on how a relationship builds or comes together. It isn't shiny, it isn't easy, and in many cases the hurts that arise are down to a lack of or misunderstanding of communication.
This addition to the Jake and Emma story takes this several steps further, showing us very beautifully how these situations can happen.
I also think that this helps to give an understanding of Jake and Daniels friendship and how it works! Prior to reading this I simply could not get my head around why Jake and Daniel would be friends, but having read this, I not only get it, but can see how this is another accurate representation for people in a relationship. We don't always know everything that is going on with the people around us, and it can be difficult to understand the relationships friends have, even for a partner. It also highlights very accurately that first impressions can be lasting (Considering Emmas confusion as to why they were friends and dislike of Daniels attitude) but also wrong. Emma seemed previously to assume that what she saw and heard was all that went on, and couldn't understand it, but this gives us another view of that, and shows that in a lot of ways, the friendship on the surface was different to the one underneath.
another beautifully written story from L T Marshall!! I'm continually shocked by her talent, and the fact that her surprises and Talent just keep getting better!!
I was looking forward to reading Jake's POV, but I just couldn't get into it, as it was like there was someone else telling the story, and not Jake... I tried reading it as it was Jake, unfortunately it didn't work out, so never mind. I like the story enough to read it from Emma's POV, and to leave it at that, you don't always need the male lead POV, but it can be very interesting sometimes. But I'm sorry to disappoint, with my review, but I just love their story, regardless.
This is a fantastic addition to the Carrero series. I loved Jake and Emma’s story and whilst reading them often wondered what Jake was thinking and why he said and did some of the things he did. This book answered all those questions in my head. It was great to read his perspective and I now understand him a little more. Would love to read the entire trilogy from his point of view 😉
Great to read the male point of view of the emotions that they feel. Would have been brilliant to have had his P.O.V to the whole Emma and Make series rather than the 3 chapters as it would have been interesting to know the conversations he'd had with Marissa regarding the baby etc. Great read though!
It was lovely to read Jake's view on his romance with Emma To see him struggling with his emotions and trying to work out what the he'll to do with her was a breathe of fresh air I really enjoyed this aspect of the book I cannot wait for the next ones
Loved it so much that it makes me want to reread the series again! It was nice to read from Jake's perspective to see a truly amazing love story unfold again.
