I should shelf this book under: good against insomnia!

It is the first book in my latest reading challenge I only pray that others won't disappoint me! Well I know which authors won't!

If it wasn’t for Jaci Burton's Wild Night you’d see me requesting my money back.

Eden Bradley did an awful job writing (another) BDSM themed short story. The first one was Surrender Tales of Erotic Submission by Eden Bradley and you'd think I've learned my lesson! NOOOO!
It reeks with stereotypes and clichés that made me not only roll my eyes but hit myself with my kindle several times! The dialogues are so fake that you cannot imagine anyone saying them out-loud, save MEANING THEM!!!

Wild Night was the first work by Jaci Burton I’ve read and based on this short romance I’m curious to find out more. Any suggestions?

And when I thought it was getting better: Lisa Renee Jones's Purple Magic was on my screen and I wanted to SCREAM!!!

This book is getting 2 stars but only because Jaci Buron managed to keep the damage of my brain cells to a minimum!

I bought this book solely to see Jaci Burton's Mike Nottingham find his own version of "happily ever after"...Mike made his first sexy appearance in Burton's "Wild, Wicked, & Wanton".

If you have never read any of these authors, then this book is a perfect way to get a taste of their work. If you have read these authors before, then you are most certainly already a fan yourself and will not want to miss this one! If you enjoy erotic novellas with unconventional romances and plenty of steamy scenes this book is for you.

Sanctuary by Eden Bradley

Until the night her best friend drug her to the fetish club, Devin never thought she would find herself in such a place. And she most certainly never expected to find herself enjoying it, even drawn to it.

Shaye's job at 'Club X' playing Master to various subs fulfills his urges quite well without risking emotional entanglements. Charismatic, playful, and a touch dangerous, Shaye is the kind of man who could charm a woman into most anything he wanted.

Wild Nights by Jaci Burton

Mike Nottingham has seen it all, done it all. Having become a bit jaded, he is looking for something, anything different during his stay in Las Vegas. When a friend secures an invitation for him at an exclusive club catering to the sexually adventurous, he is intrigued by the idea. Upon his arrival at the club, he is even more intrigued by the reality of Grace Wylde, the sexy and untouchable proprietor.

However, Grace is not something different. In fact, she is all too familiar to Mike - almost a mirror image of himself. Finding himself on the receiving end of the treatment he typically doles out to the women in his life, he finds it doesn't set well with him. But is his interest piqued solely because of her seeming lack of interest, or do his feelings run much deeper? And how does a player who has met his match convince her he wants forever with her?

Purple Magic by Lisa Renee Jones

Half-human, half-vampire Jolene will do anything to save her mortal friend Carrie from the clutches of the dastardly vampire Alex even if it means asking the help of the fearsome Drago, one of the vampire council's deadly Slayers. But it is either that or walk into the lion's den all by herself and, even as intimidating as the Drago is, the first scenario is definitely the preferable one.

Drago is the typical reluctant hero who will do anything it takes to save the day, but shrugs off the acclaim that comes with his own successes. His sense of duty to both his friends, his team, and to those under his protection is commendable. But it is his ability to combine fierce passion with tender caring for Jolene.

Jolene's loyalty and determination are noble, if ill-advised in the matter of rescuing her friend. Unaware that Drago is working undercover to rescue all the women imprisoned by Alex, not just her roommate, she rushes headlong into danger only Drago can save her from. Once apprised of his mission, however, she easily follows his lead, trusting the sexy warrior with not only her own life, but her father's and her friend's. And there is the little matter of trusting him with her heart...

Exclusive First up is Eden Bradley’s, “Sanctuary” where Devin meets Master Shaye. Devin’s best friend convinces her to go to a fetish club where the lights are high, the music loud and the play is insatiable. What started as going to make her friend happy becomes much more. Devin finds she actually is enjoying it.
Master Shaye is an experienced Dom who is one of the “players” at the Fetish Club, “Club X”…where Devin stumbles in and catches his eye. Shaye enjoys playing with the subs at the club, as he doesn’t have to risk emotional dealing with them. He can just play and they leave.

Devin has never been a part of the BDSM lifestyle. Can Shaye teach her to enjoy it as much as he does? Will he lose his heart to this innocent?
This was my first chance to read Eden Bradley but is not my last. I have since read Dark Gardens and hope to read many more in the near future. Ms. Bradley’s knowledge of the BDSM lifestyle is apparent in her writing and that makes it much more enjoyable for me. I tend to shy away from reading most BDSM as much of it is written by people who know next to nothing about it, other than it is a money maker, apparently. If you want real BDSM told with honest and truth, Eden Bradley is the first one I’d turn to.

Next is Wild Nights by Jaci Burton is a novella that stands alone but is better understood if you have already read her novel Wild, Wicked, & Wanton (Berkley Heat). This short novella connects us once again to Mike Nottingham. Mike has seen it all, and this leaves him jaded. He’s in Las Vegas looking for something, something different…

Grace Wylde is almost a mirror image of Mike. As untouchable as he is…and Mike doesn’t like it one bit. He’s used to being the one to let others down, easy or not…but Grace does it to him before he can do it to her. Grace doesn’t want commitment anymore than Mike…
When Mike accepts a friends invitation to an exclusive club, he meets the owner, Grace Wylde and nothing is the same again…Will he convince her he wants more than a fling? Will she convince him she does also.

Last up is Purple Magic by Lisa Renee Jones where Vampires coexist knowingly with humans. Jolene is trying to save her friend Carrie from the evil Alex who has captured more woman than just this one. Drago is a Slayer who is working undercover to bring the Vampire, Alex down…but when he meets Jolene, he finds that his soul crys out to him that she is his mate. Can he push the feeling down in order to complete his mission, to save not only Carrie, but the others imprisoned by Alex? Can Jolene trust this man, slayer with not only her friend’s life, but her own heart?

I had not read Jaci Burton or Lisa Renee Jones before reading Exclusive. I enjoyed their stories, but must say that Eden Bradley’s is still the one that resonates most with me.

If you want an enjoyable read, I suggest this book for sure. I read it over the course of several weeks, as I had a number of Dr. appointments and would read it while waiting each week. Otherwise, this could be read in several hours for certain.

The description of the stories I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page do not depict these stories

Sanctuary by Eden Bradley
3 Stars-Good
Innocent Devin never thought of herself as kinky, until a visit to the dungeons of the Ring. Here, a true submissive like Devin is considered quite a prize among dominates like Shaye. The only question is how far Devin is willing to go to please her man—and herself…

-Seven chapters that were well written and some smokin’ scenes.

Wild Nights by Jaci Burton
3 Stars-Good
Grace Wylde owns a swingers club, but rarely indulges in the fun. It takes a newcomer like Mike to sway her. Pure country. All animal. And up for a good time. But can two people who thrive on independence find a compromise between absolute sexual freedom and total commitment?

-I think my favorite of the three simply because of the first sensual scene between Grace and Mike.

Purple Magic by Lisa Renee Jones
3 Stars-Good
Ever since her friend vanished into the hedonistic world of Manhattan’s forbidden clubs, Jolene Morrison’s been searching for her. Now she’s plunged into a depraved darkness she never imagined---and into the arms of Drago a mysterious stranger who may be her sensual salvation…

-Interesting paranormal that I believe is part of a series but it read well as a standalone.

Eh. That's my general feeling of these stories. They weren't particularly gripping in plot and I didn't love the characters. The sex scenes were decent, but nothing to make me excited about this book. I usually love anthologies too, so it's not that. I just wasn't drawn in or hooked in any way!

The first two stories from Eden Bradley and Jaci Burton were very sexy and super hot with good stories and characters to go with them. I didn't like the last story from Lisa Renee Jones as much, but it was ok.

1st story is BDSM - OK but nothing special, 2nd is better 'sex becomes love-making which scares both players' plot, 3rd is a paranormal and I liked it a lot!

Recently received this book on a bookray through Bookcrossing. It's erotica written by women, for women. I enjoyed the first two stories, but gave up on the 3rd one.

I actually began this sometime in the fall, but had difficulty getting into it. I don't remember the first story very well, although I know I enjoyed it more than the second. I quite liked the third, but maybe I was just in the mood for some vampires.
