Bedded by the Boss Erotic Romance/Novella Approximately 20,000 words
When Renee Guillot starts her new job with better pay and benefits, she thinks her only worry will be a lack of job security. Little does she know she will be working for the Devil Incarnate. Suddenly, she is tossed into a world of sexual coercion and dangerous temptation.
Robert Thibodeaux can't be bothered with the mundane details of hiring his own secretary. So when his new employee shows up for work, one look is enough to know it will never work out. Getting her out of his office and into his bed isn't an easy maneuver. But that's exactly what he wants, and it will only be a matter of time before he makes it happen.
Always a fan of romantic fiction, I've always been in love with the alpha-male. So in love, I've never been quite satisfied with the restrictions of series romance. I like to get into a guy's mind and have him do or say exactly what he's feeling at the moment, and sometimes I shock even myself! I consider my stories soft erotica; one man, one woman, heterosexual. But since abiding love is always the happy ending I'm looking for, my couples are always monogamous. My guy would never share his woman with anyone, and she is always enough to satisfy him. Since I believe that love starts with lust, my stories are always highly sexual, explicit in nature, and hopefully totally satisfying to my readers. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
This was another winner by Lynda Chance. It was lovely, sexy, and oh so hot! The sexual tension between Robert and Renee was off the chart. The author really knows what the readers want. I’m very happy I picked up this one.
This is a wonderful addition to the series. If you love brooding alpha heroes, then this novella is for you!
Sad to see the end of this series. This one was the weakest of the lot, in my opinion. But still a good enough read.
With a steady stream of cuss words, he flipped the water to hot and reached his soapy hand down and did what he had to do so he would have enough control to face her the next day.
God, he sure is a …
"It has to be you. I’m not going to have a moment of goddamn peace until I sink into you."
Jesus Christ, he was going to come in his pants.
Well, it is goodbye to the Louisiana Liaisons – it’s been fun.
BRIEF SUMMARY This is the third installment of the author’s series called Louisiana Liaisons; it’s about three divorced friends who decided to meet for a night together but all got detoured. Book1: Seduced by the American Millionaire , book2: Blackmailed Into Bed and book3: Bedded by the Boss. In Bedded by the Boss, Robert newly employs Renee. She leaves her job of 10 years to work for Robert because the pay is better to help with her daughter’s college fund. Robert owns a construction company and is very attracted to Renee. He finds that he is unable to work with her and needs to find away to selfishly make her leave his employ. The book contains explicit sex and language.
THOUGHTS If you enjoyed Blackmailed into Bed, then you will really like Bedded by the Boss, it does not disappoint. I felt like I was reading a Harlequin Presents book gone wild in a good way. This read was definitely more aggressive with Robert’s strong Alpha male character, and I still loved it. Robert was very sexy, demanding, and possessive; throughout the book Robert makes jealously looks so sexy. Renee surely held her own throughout the book even though Robert made her nervous at times. It was also nice to hear Renee talk and reconnect with Jenny. This read was definitely a tension builder leading up to Robert and Renee’s intimacy. I also enjoyed their tennis match conversation on quitting and firing especially in one particular scene of the book. I personally enjoyed all 3 books and I am glad I read them. I also think James Cameron; the charmer should get his own story, which would definitely be another good read. James was a client of Robert that was also interested in Renee and drove Robert mad with jealously.
I really have no dislikes of the book, I only wish that both Renee and Robert said I love you to each other a little earlier on in the read, but that’s fine I can live with that.
**re-read** In the third installment of Louisiana Liaison Renee has worked for Robert and is upset at his advances its not because he isn't gorgeous because he is its because she will never get involved with a married man. Robert wants Renee and he wants her to quit so he can finally have her, he never has to try as hard as he has with Renee. Then one day while working Renee finds out that Robert isn't married and Robert is making life harder working for him. After days of the worst working environment Renee decides theres no point in denying that she wants Robert so they agree to sleep with one another with no relationship. But once isn't enough and soon each finds themselves wanting more but is sure the other doesn't feel the same. What can I say I loved Robert, Loved Renee and loved the side characters Robert was crazy jealous and possessive. This is another lynda Chance hit!
--This didn't make a good impression the first time I read it, but now it's one of my favorite re-reads. Go figure! In fact, I love this whole series and I re-read it almost every week.
I'VE COMPLETED THIS SERIES, I LOVED EACH ONE. I ENJOYED EACH ONE EVEN THOUGH ALL THREE WERE VERY, VERY SIMULAR, FUNNY THIS DIDN'T BOTHER ME AT ALL. YES, I KNEW THEY WERE BASICALLY THE SAME BOOK ALMOST, I STILL ENJOYED THEM. I DON'T SEE HOW MANY OF THESE AUTHORS HAVE BOOK AFTER BOOK WHICH ARE LIKE READING THE SAME BOOK OVER AND OVER AGAIN. WE ALL KEEP ON READING THEM AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. I WOULD PREFER THE BOOKS I READ BE A STAND ALONE EVEN IF IT IS A SERIES, I HATE CLIFF HANGERS. RATHER WAIT TILL THEY ALL COME OUT, THEN I BUY ALL OF THEM TOGETHER THEN READ. THIS IS WHAT I DID WITH THIS SERIES. THAT'S WHY I REALLY ENJOYED, ALL OF THEM WERE VERY SEXY SMOKING H.O.T. YAY, FOR ALL THE ALPHA MALES!!
Awful story! I hated the characters and the plot didn't make sense at all. Couldn't stand the characters, seriously, uuugh!, just wanted to kill them both!! Robert is a jerk and an asssss!!, he wanted to make Renee quit so he could have sex with her. Renee trembled her way through the whole story, was always scared to Robert and was super turned on when he pretty much raped her and left her all bruised because he is super possesive and über male! aaaaaand she "understood" Robert when he wanted to have sex without a condom and got mad when she asked for it, but at the end it was ok because he wanted to be real close to her and have nothing between them.
Quite short; and a bit too short to give much substance to the characters. The hero is extremely alpha but has no other personal characteristic than being domineering, conceited and obnoxious all the time when the heroine is concerned. The heroine did not have much more personality. When they finally end up in bed (and wherever else), the hot scenes are OK, though I've read steamier ones. The ending is a bit abrupt, but to be completely honest, that was fine with me, as I did not care so much for either of the characters.
Robert he's kind of an a**, "bulls***. I saw you. I don't need your help getting the business. You just do your work and keep those sweet little smiles to yourself." He's also a jealous sort, "who the eff did you shave for?" His body lowered to hers and he took, a handful of her soft blonde hair. "If you have any sense you'll tell me it was for me." I love Lynda's books there's always male characters that you love to hate.
°Non virgin MCs °Switching POVs °Divorced hero °Divorced heroine/single mother °Jerk hero °Dumb weak stupid heroine (38 y/o)- she couldn't stop trembling and stuttering every time she was near the hero, it was embarrassing and annoying °No OW drama °No real OM drama °No cheating °No separation °Intimate scenes only between the MCs °Epilogue: 3 weeks later
The 2nd Lynda Chance book that I've read, and I kinda liked it. At least it had the story in it, even not too strong. I'm not a fan of the hero and the heroine, but they're cool enough. I prefer Renee from this book than Amy in Blackmailed into Bed as a heroine.
I loved this story. He wants her desperately. He has been obsessed with her since he has first saw her. But He thinks in order to bed her is that he has to get rid of her. She is in constant denial. What follows? Very erotic forms of persuasion.
I definitely did not like this book at all. I normally give high rating and good reviews but this story was just awful. Until then lovely book readers. Enjoy!
Two out of five stars, that's a good start, right? Maybe in twenty years this author will get five stars from me, but for now, even two stars are too many. She just doesn't deserve them.
What did I just read? It was a novella, okay, I understand the lack of drama and action and the usual trivialities. But no character development? No plot? No connection between the characters? No language that isn't fuck, pussy or cock ? No. Nothing at all? Yes, nothing at all. I felt nothing at all while reading this book- if one can even call it that. This was just words filling up blank pages, wasted ink on precious paper. Do you guys know how many trees are cut every day to make paper? Well, I don't know either but I will sure check out later, you should do the same too.
I'm not going to say I hated that story because there are some parts that made me laugh.
So, let me introduce you to the funny parts and the exasperating parts during which I wanted to throw my iPod away, get inside the book and beat either the girl or the guy up (I think it's mostly the guy though).
So that was all my poor fingers could write but not all I wanted to write. There are so many parts I disliked but those were the only ones I highlighted.
As I said before, this thing (I can't bring myself to call it a book or even a story, that would be an insult to other authors' works) was lifeless. The characters were boring. They were either trying to fight the sexual attraction, fight the sexual tension, talking about sexing each other or actually having sex. I almost lost my eyes, I forgot to count how many times I rolled them. I see everyone dissing Fifty Shades because it was filled with sex, oh well, Fifty Shades is much better compared to this. It's not really fair to compare a series to a novella series but this isn't the point. The point it: just because you're writing something categorized as Erotica doesn't mean it has to be utter crap and only filled with crap revolving around sex. I could've accepted all the sex if there had been some character development, some storyline, some connection, something, anything to make up for all the sex I was reading. But there was nothing: page after page, I only found words after words with no depth whatsoever.
So I think I'm done here. My hands are tired at 2AM but I had to write this. My review for Seduced by the American Millionaire is coming soon, not now. Too tired.
Why can I never find something good to read? I always end up reading crappy books.
So, my dear Lynda Chance, your series 'Louisiana Liaisons' will be the only thing I will ever read from you. Unless you become J.K. Rowling in 20 years. Only then I might -I might, not will- give you another chance. For now, my eyes have had enough.
Renee and Robert had me all caught up in this story. She leaves her job to work for Robert because the pay and benefits are better but one look at Renee and he knows he is in trouble because he can't be around her without wanting her. He tires everything to make her quit, but it doesn't work. Will their attraction lead them along the path to happiness.
Three novellas about bully asshole men and doormat pushover women. Characters shallow, dialogues unnatural. These are short stories but it’s not an excuse. Even if smut is its only purpose, it’s not well done - it’s boring, repetitive and not sexy at all. I give up on this author.
A steamy quicky to get me through another day. It read like a very dirty Harlequin, probably due to the third person narration. The jealousy was top notch, and I believed in their connection, just wish that I could have connected to them better as characters.
Love Lynda Chance and all of her books I've read. I did like this story, but I thought it easily could have been longer.
Summary: Renee is a divorced, single mother of a college student. She has quit her job of ten years to work for Robert Thibodeaux because the pay and benefits are better (this is important in order to give her daughter the college experience they both want for her). Hired by his long time (soon to be retiring assistant) Robert is attracted to Renee so he comes to the conclusion that she must quit, then he must bed her. In that order. Renee is attracted to her sexy new boss, but is under the impression that he is a married man, so puts aside her feelings and works through the abrasive environment. Robert and Renee must work through their feelings for each other in order to move forward. There is explicit sex and language.
Despite its shortness, I loved it. Robert has a very alpha-male personality that can come off as being an a**hole, but he does care and is used to getting what he wants. Renee was sweet, but I did feel that she could have had more confidence in herself due to all she has accomplished while being a single mother. It was fun to watch their sizzling attraction become more. <3
I didn't want to read this last night but I was bored and I did.Because of all my negative thoughts towards the book ( I didn't like her book Blackmailed into Bed very much), I went into it with the the mind frame that it would fall way below any expectations I had for it. As it turns out I really enjoyed it!.The hero was so dominate and never gave quarter . The heroine although very submissive was able to hold her own against this fiery man! The tension was off the freakin charts! Every-time the scene included both characters I could literally feel the sizzle from my kindle. The only thing I didn't like was how rushed the book felt after their first sexual encounter. I felt like it was skipping what should have been the depth of the book and then it ended! I felt that these characters should have had a novel instead of an novella. There where to many lose ends.Other than that I would say this book is worth the read if you want something quick hot and spicy!
I will give this one 2.5 stars because I had some issues with the alpha this time. Still it was a good short story, but a little exasperting for me. The hot scenes were very good too...
He looked up from the slick, hair-free mound between her thighs. A dark jealousy consumed him. A territorial feeling that he couldn't control. "Who the fuck did you shave for?" His body lowered to hers and he took a handful of her soft blonde hair. "If you have any sense you'll tell me it was for me." His words were harsh, guttural. She panted, her eyes wide on him. His body was large, intimidating, even with his clothes on. She took his advice since it was the truth. "Y-you. For you." His hand reached down between them. He trailed it from her throat, down between her breasts, to the vee between her legs. He pushed a rough, blunt finger into her wet softness. "Good answer, baby." His words were clipped. "Because this is mine."
This book took a lot longer, the battle was more drawn out but make no mistake, Robert was as "blatantly male" as the other men in this series. Renee had many reasons to be afraid and hesitant about this affair. She did need the money and his desire to screw her forced her into a terrible working environment in which she was sexually harassed non-stop...But can it still be considered harassment if she craved it, loved it, wanted it, needed it. She certainly never asked for it or provoked it, but his control slipped slowly and violently over the course of 53 days to the point where any separation between them, any obstacle, needed to be removed immediately otherwise his primal need for possession caused anxiety and irritability that manifests as aggressiveness towards her. I would have loved an accidental pregnancy in this book. It sounds ridiculous for me to say this, but the way they fit together and the way he unconsciously sought to tie her to him would have come full circle.
I'm dissapointed. This book was too short and i didn't feel it. I read Fifty shades trilogy and Bared to your and a bunch of other books with dominating possesive alpha males and that's how i like the men in book but in this one i kept picturing Robert as an older man, he wasn't the alpha male i like in books. Usually when i read a book I can't put it down at night so I end up staying up reading until 4 am but this book I could easily down at night. I didn't think about it at all afterwards...
