I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. I have seen miracles happen in the lives of friends and family as well as my own: all thanks to the power of prayer and the God who answers them. I've been told yes and no and sometimes have been told "not yet". Basically, I'm no stranger to prayer. But this book increased my understanding of prayer and all of the different aspects: fasting, repentance, forgiveness, gratitude, when the answer is no, etc.
Joni Hilton is one of my favorite authors because of her honesty, humor, and willingness to keep reaching higher. This book was all of that. It changed the way I view prayer; it improved it.
A good read. The examples and thoughts were simple yet held a lot of meaning and power for me. We all know the simple steps to prayer and the whys, hows and whats of it, but this book helped me make some of my ideas more solid. It also helped me to reaffirm that I need to do better in this area of my life. A must read in my opinion
I really enjoyed this book and it's thoughts on prayers. There were several teachings presented that I had not thought of before which have changed my own prayers and feelings about prayer. .
This was okay. There was nothing really new/profound for me. I may have enjoyed it more if she had included more quotes from General Authorities -- they have said a lot about this subject in Conference. This was one I listened to on Deseret Bookshelf, and I was glad I hadn't bought the book.
Sought out this book as I was looking for books on prayer. It’s my desire to strengthen my testimony of prayer by finding ways to be more consistent at it. Great ideas and suggestion
It is exactly what it says it is, as a former member of the LDS church this book can feel cringey at times, but as long as you fit into the LDS box then this book will probably do some good.
