About the author

Hampton is a native St. Louis, with a gift and passion for writing. She maintained journals for several years, but it wasn’t until she read Terry McMillan’s Disappearing Acts that she considered taking her writing adventures to another level.



In 2002, Hampton completed her memoir, along with two fiction novels: Two's Enough Three's a Crowd and How Can I Be Down? The following year, she completed thrilling sequels to both novels and additional bestselling novels followed thereafter.



Hampton is known for bringing the heat to readers, and her literary career is filled with many accomplishments. She is an Essence Magazine Bestselling Author, she was named a Favorite Female Fiction writer in Upscale Magazine by O.O.S.A., she is a 2009 African American Literary Award Nominee for her mystery novel, The Dirty Truth, and was awarded Best Female Writer by Infini Promoters. In addition to writing, and having an entrepreneur spirit, Hampton manages her own insurance business where she works as an Insurance Broker for many customers throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. VOICES is the place where every voice can be heard, and Hampton uses her publishing company to assist writers through the POD process. Her goal has been to work with motivated writers who deserve a chance in this very challenging book industry. I loved loved loved loved this series. I hated to love to hate to love Jaylin. Not many of us could really live and survive in Jaylin's World, but it sure was a roller roaster ride for me.

Some of the strongest points of this book are near the end. Jayling had some really emotional moments.
Brenda showed an entirely different side of Jaylin near the end. I'm not completely happy with the ending because I wanted a happy ending, but that being said.......

Most memorable part of this book for me was Jaylin's STEERING WHEEL ANALOGY!!!! You are awesome Brenda Hampton

Jaylin still with his mess but Nokea showed him he hit the wrong spot with her and now made him feel the pain he put her though. Well Jaylin is a whole lot of mess . Well time to move on to the last of Jaylin

I have always been a huge fan of the Naughty series. This book wasn't as good as all the others. I think I was just sick of Jaylin's conniving ways and confidence and Nokea's and Scorpio's stupidity. I was hoping the book wouldn't end the way it did as far as Nokea was concerned but it was also not a shocker. I spoke to Brenda Hampton about just ONE MORE SERIES about McKenzie as an adult. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen. That would be so awesome though!

I would recommend this book to everyone who has read at least one of the Naughty series. READ THEM ALL!!

Life is grand for Jaylin and Nokea Rogers. They are living drama-free in Miami Beach with their two kids LJ and Jaylene, Shane has moved there to go into the real estate business with Jaylin and Nanny B is still the strength and backbone of the family. One late night Jaylin gets a phone call that will turn his entire world upside down, forever!

Scorpio Valentino and her husband Bruce are living their lives in St. Louis with their two children Mackenzie and Bruce Jr. Scorpio still owns and runs her salon and her husband is unemployed and not doing anything but causing Scorpio grief. Through a series of events, the family has a car accident and the children are hurt bad. After some discussions with the doctors it is only one thing for Scorpio to do to get some support, call the children's father!

Living in Jaylin's World you learn very fast that it is Jaylin's way or NO WAY! And true to form, he has shown us this yet again. You will see how fast you can lose control of a situation when you are not willing to bend for the person you love more than anything in the world. Brenda Hampton is closing out the Jaylin series in the seventh and final book and I will tell you what a ride it has been! Brenda writes so clear and detailed that I can actually hear Jaylin's voice while I am reading, you empathize with the characters and you have to take a step back into reality because you are so caught up that you are ACTUALLY in Jaylin's World with them! I hate to see Jaylin and the crew go but with the way that Brenda Hampton tells a story, I am positive that she will bring us more of that fire and intensity in whatever she writes next. Congratulations on a successful series, my hat goes off to you!

What a great way to end this series. Jaylin really came full circle, and it's nice to see that he has finally developed the level of respect that he should have had from the very beginning for Nokea, and even Scorpio. I have to say a lot of things surprised me about what went down in this book and that was such a good thing. Sometimes you think what more can an author write about, but Ms. Hampton really took it to the next level with this book. Of course the sex scenes were off the hook, that is to be expect of Jaylin, but there were also so many emotional parts of this book that had me saying awwww or why or I can't believe he did this. I'm honestly sad to see Jaylin's story end because I could continue to read about him and his antics forever, but he is really going out on a high note. Even Nokea and Scorpio really changed tremendously which was a great end for their characters. Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Hampton as I have been thoroughly entertained by the Naughty Series.

I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I LOVE YOU JAYLIN! When It's all said and done Jaylin "Arrogant" Rogers was a man with some deep deep deep issue! He used and manipulated women because it was done to him by the women of his and past. When Nokea is longtime friend offered him that unconditional love & her heart he was unable to embrace it because of his past. (you have to read to series for more details)

This Naughty series was a real nerve wrecking journey, actually after book 1 I wanted to Quit, however I continued on and by end I can truly say I appreciated the outcome of everybody who every entered Jaylin's World!

Jaylin Rogers not matter what you are still a DAMN FOOL but so SMOOTH with IT! Oh and tell Shane to holler at me!

Best of Both Worlds

Jaylin, Nokea, Scorpio and Shane return in this final installment of Brenda Hampton’s Naughty series, “Jaylin’s World: Dare to Live in It!” For seven books, readers have done just that – dared to live in Jaylin Jerome Rogers’ World. Like most will agree, Jaylin is someone you hate to love and love to hate.

As always, Hampton brings the drama and the sex. She also sprinkles in some lessons, consequences, the power of forgiveness and growth. Though I love me some Jay-Baby and I’ve enjoyed the series, I am happy to see this series come to a close. I’m satisfied with the conclusion and I look forward to new stories and characters from Hampton as she’s a talented writer.

Bravo to Mrs Hampton what A Great Series I can't believe it's over. Nokea I was so proud of her! Although it was painful she stayed true to herself. Shane found love and it was so welled deserved. Nanna B the bomb, all that love and wisdom I just flat out love her. Scorpio stated that she love herself more....I guess she should act that way! Jaylin I just loved him, hated him then loved him again. Hopefully Mrs Hampton will see the need to share what us going on with these guys in the bear future.

I really loved this book..I must say that it started off kind of shaky for me....Scorpio was getting on my nerves...I wanted her to leave Jaylin alone...but the way Nokia Handled herself in this book was amazing...He deserved every bit of that...Without giving it away....I loved everything about this book...the ending for me would of been perfect with the fairy tale...but I guess enough is enough....

Tear Tear Tear Drop Drop Drop this series was one of my absolute favorites my top 3 Nokea held firm I was so proud of her Jaylin had to learn the hard way but eventually got it Shane finally found that one true love Scopiro she still s willing to b the mistress but Jaylin truly moved on. I hate to c this series ended I felt I was apart of the books felt all their hurts, joys, and pains an amazing ride.

Very good read. I have always enjoyed Brenda Hampton's books. Jaylin has finally come full circle in this last installment and I'm glad he has finally realized it. I hope he has learned from his mistakes. I also hope that the women in his life has learned some lessons 2.

As bad as Jaylin is for your health, Brenda still finds away to make you love & hate him at the same time. Like always, I'm always hanging on to each word to see how he's going to wiggle his way out of yet another situation he created. I was happy Nokea finally stood up for herself and walked away. I've been there and back with someone like this and man oh man is it hard to just say no. Great book!

Hmp hmp hmp...what a world! In this 'so called' last installment of the Naughty Series we watch Jaylin finally get a dose of his own medicine!
..and do I 'dare' say that Jaylin def had it his way for far too long. But when a woman's fed up..there aint nothing you can do about it. Nokea..Nokea..Nokea..clap..clap..clap. My girl finally stood up and took charge of the wheel. I was wondering what would be her breaking point.I guess Jaylin's homemade family was just too close for comfort and just miles up the road. What makes a man do the things he does? But to the very end, I finally understand why he is the way he is. Its amazing how the past can come back to haunt us and catch up to us quicker than any Karma can. I have said it before, Jaylin is one character I started to hate but then again I liked him for his many redeeming qualities. I guess that's why Scorpio neither Nokea, after sooo many disappoints had the guts to just say 'no'to him.

What I loved about this 7th book is that it made everything come full circle. The characters have developed and become better based on what they had been through..even Scorpio who is still willing to lay on her back made a step in the right direction (hmm). The plot was like..well life. You could see it unfolding and knew the juicy parts early on but the way the characters, esp Jaylin and Nokea dealt with the many trials and tribulations was heart-wrenching! It felt real, like you were right there with them..in every moment..with every smile and every tear shed. That's a hard thing to accomplish for many of authors, but Hampton does is superbly. This series was one of the most emotional provoking ones I have read in some time. Its good that a series can keep getting better..EVEN when you know most of the plot before you read it.

With two Epilogues, I hope this is not the end of the series. Though Nokea got her world..I still hope Jaylin gets his wish;)

Okay, this book is getting 4 stars because it is officially the end of one of the best black experience/black literature series. I loved the Naughty series and enjoyed reading every book, however... I was just a tad bit disappointed with this one, the final show. Maybe it's just me, but let me explain. First off, SCORPIO JUST WON'T GO AWAY !!!! Ughh I've never been so annoyed about a character like her, it was to a point when I got an attitude reading her chapters! Smh, anyway. I felt like the story dragged a little bit for me, it was like the big secret was out from the very beginning, which was no surprise at all, and Jaylin did exactly what was expected of his character, and cheated once again on Nokea, and now fights for his marriage. (-_-) No new drama or different scenario, it was the sammee bs with Jaylin and Scorpio and Nokea just getting f*cked over once again. However, what saved it for me was Nokea finally growing some b*lls and doing something Jaylin never expected, sh*t I think all of us never did (without giving too much away). I was shocked and VERY proud of her for once, but I guess this is the perfect example of when a woman has had enough... I always had mixed feelings about her and Scorpio. I thought Scorpio was just a lust thing that really just loved the idea of being with Jaylin, I never believed it was as deep as Nokea's love for Jaylin. She just got on my nerves, however, I always thought Nokea was stupid for staying with him, but always claimed teamNokea. Smh. Sigh. Well that's that. So sad this is truly the end, but what an amazing journey.

OMG, I have been holding this book not wanting to open it because I know it is the end of JAYLIN ROGERS! Whew, I finally took a deep breath and cracked the book open. I couldn't get this one on my Kindle because I have all of the other books and I wanted to have this book to place on my shelf with the others! I am right smack dab in the middle of the book (only took me an hour to get there cause I am BURNING THESE PAGES UP!!)and already I'm oohing and ahhing. All I can say at this point is that Brenda Hampton is and will always be one of my top five favorite authors, number one actually! This woman can truly tell a darn story! It TRULY saddens me to know that this is the end of Jaylin and all his drama and sexiness! I am gonna miss him sooooo much...lol!! If you have NOT read this series then ya need to grab book one and get started. This has been my favorite series of all times. Well, I guess I better go ahead and prepare my heart to say good-bye to Jaylin! I shall return to write the ending to this review but thus far this book is AWESOME and I know I will feel the same way when I'm done. Brenda has NEVER let me down, you go girl wit ya bad self!!!

I read this book in one day and could not put it down. This book follows Jaylin as he struggles with his love for Scorpio and Nokea. I was surprised at the strength Nokea finally showed and amazed at how weak Scorpio really was until the end. Finally Jaylin has allowed someone to take the driver's seat and that person is Nokea. Sometimes you never know what you have until it's gone. This book was very emotional for me. And I am so happy for Shane, he really deserved a great woman. At times I laughed, other times I wanted to break down and cry. Sometimes everyone loses in the name of love and there is no happy ending. Great completion to a wonderful series. Bravo Brenda Hampton you did it again.

I am so disappointed with the ending of this one. I wanted so much the ending to not be left so open. I did agree with how Nokea got what she needed to be happy. We finally got to see what really made Jaylin be who he is. Too bad Scorpion was such an idiot. Finally all the characters had some peace. I sure hope there is another book.

This book a very twisted beginning. Towards the ending I found it to be very emotional especially if you've read the other books in this series. I can't lie. I had tears in my eyes quit often. Good read though.
