I love the negative reviews ‘this isn’t non-con, it’s rape’
Ummmm should we tell them?

It’s dirty and vulgar and reads like a trashy graphic novel.
I love it. It’s OK to be mindlessly entertained.

One of the worst books I’ve ever read. This is no non-con. This is rape. It’s incel telemundo try-hard “dark” garbo with so many poorly written sentences. All shock, no skill.

This is just a collection of words. I refuse to call it a novella.

SJ Ransom did an amazing job of walking the reader through how Kronos was molded into the Psycho he ultimately turned into.

The book fills in the holes about how much he struggled with his sobriety and the things he did the drove him to need to be numb. I fell even move for him and his own brand of crazy that made the Psychos such a good read!

This is best read after the series in order to understand references and the characters mentioned in the Novella that are MCs in the prior!!

Kronos, King of the Titans indeed! Or is he the God of Time? Either way I loved going back in time, get it? And learning more about this ultimate badboy. I feel like this is my favourite SJ Ransom book to date. I love a good origins story, especially when it’s about one of your faves. I know we say whychoose, but I choose okay we can all deal with Kronos being my fave!
Way to start a book! Omg! I was in tears at like 7%. It’s dark and has that special layer of SJ spice that we all crave a little more than we care to admit.
Great quick read and excellent intro to the P’s in Love characters!

S. J. Ransom doesn’t disappoint with the darkness and depravity we have come to know and love in her books! Triggers galore in this book so heed the warnings (unaliving oneself (attempting) and others, SA, DV, CA…list goes on). I feel like this novella was rushed and would have read better as a full length novel/prequel to Psychos in Love; the time hops occasionally threw off the story flow. Overall, it was a great introduction to the backstory of Kronos and his brothers

3/5 ⭐️
1/5 🌶️ (there are some scenes but it’s not really smutty)
i received an ARC copy of this novella & this is my honest opinion!

in the beginning we meet Kronos and kick off the story with him going through an extremely traumatic event due to his father. as the book progresses you begin to learn more and more about Kronos/what shaped him to be the person he is in the Psychos series. this book is an excellent prequel to psychos in love and would highly recommend reading it first!

**************SPOILERS*******************
what i did like:
SJ Ransom writes it DARK, which i personally love. Kronos is a fœked up guy so i think it’s only fitting he screws a girl throat until she dies.
some prequels are too much back story and i feel as though they drag, but this book was fast paced and had you going wtf? every five minutes
the development of the brotherhood, as we know the Psychos series is a why choose, so meeting the brothers and getting a feel for them was amazing!

what i didn’t like:
some parts of the story didn’t make sense, kronos finally snapping and killing his father was expected, but i feel as though the timing was rushed.
Kronos becoming an alcoholic/being suicidal was quickly introduced and moved forward from. this is a VERY fast paced novel, but putting more of his thoughts and in depth details about this topic is needed in my opinion.
the story of haydes needed more elaboration

I think this is my favorite SJ book to date. It was short but really good. I'm very happy to have a backstory. It provides a new clarity. The feels this short story provides are everything.

Dark, Dark Dark Read

This is the story of how Kronos came to be the person he is. The author does not gloss over details but be prepared for the very quick pace of the book. At times I felt that the lack of some details impacted the story, but now looking back, I get why the author chose to omit some of those details. This book is not for the faint of heart and does not really have much heat but is a fantastic read!!!

This is an origin story for the the psychos in love series. This was definitely an interesting one we saw some of this in the previous book in them talking about the history but to get full background on a MMC this was definitely a good read. I wouldn’t say this needs to be read before the psychos in love series as it is a stand alone and isn’t necessarily a prequel but you could I’d preferably say it should go after the first if you don’t want any kind of spoilers for that series.

If you love the backstory of characters, this is the book. As if Kronos couldn't get any better, you get to witness his life and struggles first hand. Highly recommend this small look into his life.

I loved it! Kronos is a more complex than one realizes. You learn how he came to be the way he is. From the deceit of his friend to the crash. Everything played a part in creating the man. Trigger warning!

This was a quick, time hopping, read of a prequel novella. Focusing, mainly, on Kronos (Charles) from the Psychos in Love series.

This definitely touched and focused on some incredibly dark topics so be sure to check the triggers before reading!

Such an amazing prequel to the first 3 books psychos in love! To learn about how and why Kronos became who he is was the best thing S.J. could have given us! I highly recommend this read. There are triggers so I would take a look at them before reading. Kronos is my favorite character from this series and now reading this book about him made me love his character even more.

S.J Ransom knocked another home run right outta the ballpark with Kronos ( the first installment in the Origins Series ) a series I can already tell is going to just keep getting better and better . Have you ever picked up a book that had the ability to captivate you from the very first page ? That had you sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation of what was going to happen from one second to the next and broke your heart but then so flawlessly put it right back together. Well Kronos is just one of those books that does it all and so much more . It’s filled with non stop action, off the charts chemistry, suspense, tragedy, second chances, twists and turn, drama , passion , awesome world building, wonderfully written characters that are so unique and very multi layered you simply cannot stop yourself from falling in love and a storyline that just grabs onto your heart and Sucks you right in . Truth be told there just aren’t any perfect words to express what a phenomenal job S.J has done writing this book - it’s really something you need to experience for yourself. Prepare yourself to be Blown away .

I love SJ’s work, I read a lot of dark, morally gray anti-heroes. this will be the first time I’ve read prequel before reading series. It will be interesting to see if it changes my perception of the books. it’s interesting how SJ builds the foundation of abuse in which the person who was supposed to protect him forced him to kill the only good person who showed him love., At the same time, Charles takes the role of protector, taking extra abuse, killing Momma, following their fathers dictates, as a way of protecting his two brothers and friend.

It also acts as a gritty realistic vehicle for the pain and despair depressed people feel when contemplating suicide. The obsession with wanting to not feel, to not remember, to not see, to drink it away is the way an alcoholic struggles with their disease.

Kronos, Ayres, Hypnos and Haydes were created by Power Sr, from a young age into these dark twisted men.

TW for sensitive readers - Twisted, violent, hatred, dark, explicit sexual violence.

I was a fan of Charles Aka Kronos from the first time I met him, he has everything I’d want in a fictional boyfriend.

In the beginning I am met with a teenage Kronos, someone who’s coming of age, quicker than he should, understanding how easily life is lost, those usually debilitating moments only spurred him on, to keep fighting an uphill battle.
I’m a sucker for a dark & gritty, so SJ Ransom truly delivered.
Clearly, it was a too quick read, I’d have enjoyed more perhaps exploration to Kronos’s state, without spoiling anything away, I must say, I freaking loved the start of it, the author didn’t hold back on us, in fact, I’d say it’s ballsy, how we come to see our devilish main character step forward.

He is the glue, keeping things put, and I doubt there is anyone who can win me over.
Ain’t nothing better than a fast paced, action packed, dark adventure.

It’s definitely a 4,5 ⭐️
Spice was 🥵🌶️🌶️
I received an arc and I’m leaving my honest review.

OMFG!!! This is an utterly insane prequel story that is not for the faint of heart as the storyline is definitely pitch-black. The story is fast paced but filled with plenty of WTF moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.

Kronos is one hell of a dark, disturbed, majorly unhinged and deliciously twisted character. I am hopelessly addicted to him now!!!

Right from that devastating beginning, Kronos takes us on an emotional rollercoaster ride down a dark, depraved and bloody rabbit hole and leaves us there to claw our way up from utter darkness back into the light. But I wanted to stay in the darkness with Kronos!

Make sure you can handle delving into the world of a psychotic man who will do very messed up and disturbing things. As this little morsel of delicious twistedness will possibly make you gag, definitely shock you, and will tickle your lady parts (at least it did for me)!

I can’t wait for more!

This book is a prequel to the Psychos in Love series

This is the backstory of Kronos.

It will give you an insight into who Kronos is from the beginning, what shaped him to become the man that he is now, the treacherous road that he has walked under the rule of his fathers thumb, of his relationship with his brother Hypnos, Ayres and Haydes.

The time jumps give you a lot of insight. Even though he is self-destructive, he does find redemption in some of his life choices. The story was fast-paced and will have you going WTF.

I have yet to read the Psycho in Love series, so if you are a fan, this original book is definitely for you!

Recommend both the author and the book.

If you’ve already read Psychos in Love series, then you know who Kronos is. This was such a great short novella and really shows you who Kronos is and how he became the way he is. It packs so much emotional baggage into this short story. I think I legit squealed when some parts came up knowing what was going to happen from the other series, and I also can’t wait to see if the other brothers get their own origin story. If you are one to need a heads up about what’s in a story first, do so on this one otherwise jump headfirst in enjoy.

S.J Ransom gives us a look through several years of the life of Kronos in a fast paced yet detailed story. This was a great origin story and of the three men i’m glad she decided to start with him. We go back in time and get to see everything from his first kill to the beginning of Psychos in Love with the girl and the green eyes. We get to learn what it is that makes Charles Powers exactly the person he is.

Green Eyes

S.J. Ransom’s first book in The Origins delves more into the background of the characters in her Psychos In Love series. It’s interesting to see how Kronos grew up and what factors shaped his life. Kronos’ maddening fight to get rid of the ‘green eyes’ that constantly haunt him was an excellent inclusion to this novella. This is a fascinating short story and I can’t wait to read about the rest of the other characters. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

I was so excited to read the back stories of the three brothers. They are so dark and twisted, and now we know why. If you like dark romance, then this is for you. SJ Ransom is definitely my one click author. I love her dark and twisted imagination.

I actually felt bad for how they got to where they are. Be sure to check your triggers as there are many.

I'm a huge fan of a good origin story and this one is superb. We discover how Kronos became the person he is and it's a story of darkness and pain with no avoiding things. I wish every author who writes these types of characters could take the time to give us such great backstories.

Kronos was the first book I have read by this author. It was a good book. Kronos struggles with the way his dad brought him up and with PTSD. I will have to read some more books by this author. Kronos is very over protective of his brothers. I enjoyed this book.

I haven’t read ‘the psychos series’ yet so starting this gave me an insight about Kronos and the why and how he turned out the way he did.
I definitely can’t wait to dive deeper into the series to understand more.

It was a tough read in the beginning but I grew to love it. I definitely recommend!
