THERE'S A NEW WITCH IN TOWN
WITCH THIS WAY
WHO'S THAT WITCH?

Welcome to Holiday Hills, where the coffee's fresh and there's magic in the air...

Newbie witch? Yup.

Quaint town? Yup, and magical, too. The magic is hidden from humans so we can all live in harmony. For the most part.
A bookstore coffee shop combo where most of town gathers? Of course, and it's owned by my mother's best friend, who's given me a permanent table where I write daily.

Quirky characters? Definitely. Witches, shapeshifters, gossipers, cantankerous old coots, you name it, Holiday Hills has it.

A sexy police chief who takes my breath away? Don't I know it.

A talking cat? That's Cooper, my cat. He's also my familiar, though if he had to choose between saving me or a free can of tuna, I'm pretty sure he'd choose the tuna.

Oh, and murder. (Most of the time.) But thankfully, this newbie witch has an amateur sleuth side gig because a murderer is gunning for her.
This might seem unbelievable, but I just learned I'm a witch, and that's pretty hard to top.

Sparkling and fun, Abby Odell returns to her hometown for her mom’s funeral.
Abby is barely settled in and notices strange oddities occurring around her she can’t really explain. She is shocked to learn she is a witch and inherited her mom’s magical powers. Her regular job is a ghostwriter for a national bestseller paranormal series - she has just stepped into one of her books!

While wrestling with this new information, magical powers and how to use them, she is happy to reconnect with her “aunt” Bessie (her moms best friend) her bestie Stella, and crush madly on the local sheriff Gabe, and do her best to not be murdered by family members attempting to steal her new magical powers! Crazzzzy!

Book 2 (a different theme which is based on magical jewelry and hot warlocks, what’s not to love?) and book 3 (featuring Salem witch connection! And battling besties) so universal themes we can all relate to on tap, And exceptionally well written) are also filled with equally wild and crazzzzy entertaining magical adventures worth reading for yourselves in the cozy mystery genre. Entertaining novels, great characters and absolutely worthwhile reads

Age old situation

With the passing of her mother, Abby learns she is a witch. Her mom bound her powers to keep her safe, but with her death, everything changes. In mourning, she'll have to learn to adapt but with the help of Bessie, her mom's close friend, and her familiar, Cooper, she's got a support system. Throw in her human bestie for emotional support, and the hot chief of police, she's prepared to tackle those who mean her harm and protect the town and her friends.

Abby is a newbie witch in the eyes of many, but she comes from good stock and is powerful, or will be once she gets the hang of things. Toss in a few murders and her learning curve is steep.

Love her interactions with Cooper, who is a riot. Stella is grounding, but it is challenging keeping her in the dark about magic. Abby is a very likeable character and the stories intriguing enough to stay up way past my bedtime.

Be prepared to lose some sleep

The first three books in the series as a box set makes for a great read only problem is once you read the first one you just have to read the second and the third non-stop hence the lack of sleep. As a new witch our heroine battles to learn her magic find her past and make new friends and just maybe a boyfriend. Lots of magic humour and snark with believable characters and great storylines, and lookout for the tuna devouring familiar. Great series so far, Baz.
