Used this book to try and get a quick review of epidemiology before I head into a grad program. While it touches on concepts and statistical formulas, it fails to explain them clearly and thoroughly. As someone with an epi background, this wasn’t too much of a problem. But for anyone just getting into it, this isn’t the best resource. The only thing it has going for it is its many real life epi examples and stories- interesting but not helpful for my situation. If you are looking for an epi review, find a different book.
I swear this title is misleading because you cannot be a dummy to comprehend what an epidemiologist does. If I was smart enough, I’d probably be one but oh well.
