When the archangel Gabriel sends his angels to eliminate a woman, Lucifer knows she’s the critical pawn in his quest for revenge. Intent on pushing Gabriel to the edge of his sanity, he assigns himself as her protector.
A scientist, Evren is focused on two things: finding her mother and helping the nearly extinct Druids. She isn’t interested in being a pawn, nor does she need Lucifer’s protection, even if he intrigues her.
But Druid history is shrouded in secrecy and finding the answers she seeks takes time. Too much time. Evren soon discovers playing god has consequences, and she can’t save the world alone.
Lucifer and Evren race to eliminate the threat before Gabriel succeeds in his attempts to kill her. And when Evren’s greatest secret is revealed, Lucifer realizes he will do everything in his power to protect the woman he’s falling for, even if it means going to war against the angels.
This book is a spin-off from The Killian Blade Series and is meant to be read after the first three books; however, it does NOT have to be read to continue with the series. NOTE - The story includes religious references to angels, demons, and overall Christianity, and other mature content. Take care of yourself and read at your own discretion. Recommended for 18+.
Author of steamy contemporary and paranormal romance books, Stella Brie lives outside of Nashville, TN, with her husband and golden retriever, Bailey. After her husband challenged her to write a paragraph, she wrote a book! Ideas are pestering her night and day now. She's currently in her writing cave, but when not writing, you can find her reading, boxing, traveling and all the other good things in life.
The first time I started this book, I had to stop it. I didn't get. But I gave it another try, because I love Stella Brie's book. And this time I liked it at lot. For the first failed try and because I can't pinpoint the reason why I paused the book, I'm giving it a 4 stars rating.
Wasn’t the best execution. We didn’t even meet the h until 20%. I liked the storyline I just wish that the characters, story, and romance were developed more. There were some great angsty scenes but everything happens so fast we’re not staying in any of the moments long enough. It had novella type feels.
Unfortunately this one is a DNF at 76%. I really liked the previous books in the series, but this one just wasn't it.
The fmc is introduced as someone running experiments on humans. This has become her main focus even though her initial goal in this world was a different one. The experiments are horrible and have even more horrible outcomes. Maybe, just maybe, she should have done some desk research before starting some experiments without giving more thought to the possible effects. It is later revealed that she grew up in a place surrounded by scientists and science so she should know that you gather a lot of information before you start to experiment on humans or other living beings. She is described as a scientist but it seems she never had an ethical thought in her entire life. I don't know if the goal was to present her as a person who makes mistakes with a redemption arc, but she was just a careless unethical scientist.
I liked that we get more insight into Lucifer as a character. I did not like how he is presented as only caring about her after certain events at the Abbey that she caused and ignoring the victims. Also, him not communicating with Arden, her brother and Solandis about Vargas is a dick move and seems to have no reason at all.
The fmc and mc unfortunately did not have any chemistry with each other. I was wondering about it the entire time I read the book. It did not get clear to me why they should like each other or why they should be interested in each other. So, yeah, in my opinion you can skip this book. Nevertheless, I will continue with the series and hope the next books will be better.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- overall story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - world and character building 🌶️.5 - spice
Ok, I’m obsessed the The Rowan trilogy and this just adds to it. I’ll start if you’re not into angels, demons, God, goddess, and gods - you might not enjoy this. I get some folks don’t want religion to mix, but this wasn’t that. Yes, major players we know are in here from that world - but nothing scandalous.
Any who. I love we get more of a look at Lucifer and the Underworld. We have all the cameos from The Rowan and I love to see where that works can go next. The whole story is super interesting. Stella does amazing world and character building so you can’t put the book down. Mix is just enough spice and I’m soooo here for this.
Evren is an interesting one and as you get to learn more about her, her personality makes so much h sense. I love that Stella always writes strong and smart female leads and Evren is no exception. This was a great spinoff in The Rowan world and the breadcrumbs for Meri’s story makes me super excited.
This story was so fun and intriguing to dive into! The Rowan world gets more and more fun and fascinating to explore in every book! I'm obsessed with all the different worlds and species we get to see. I'm in awe of this authors talent of creating intricate worlds that makes sense to the reader.
I really enjoyed getting to know more about Lucifer as he found his perfect match. He gives big protective daddy energy in the Rowan books, and that got even better here! We get to learn more about him with a fun twist to the standard "cast out of heaven" backstory.
This book is big on "things arent always as they appear", from the characters that have hidden depths, and a mysterious and intriguing story that had me on the edge of my seat. I had a blast trying to come up with my theories as things unfolded. And if that didn't hook me enough, we got some fantastic teases for Meri's upcoming story!
Wow, I couldn’t put this book down. A twist of angels vs. demons but the bad guys aren’t who you’d expect. Please read the Killian Blade series first, this is Evren and Lucifer’s story and a spin off of that series. The continuation of of character development and world building were phenomenal. Evren is looking for her mom and also trying to help save the Druids. Because of this, the angels seek to stop her and Gabriel is ruthless. But Lucifer steps in to protect Evren even though she doesn’t want his help, well maybe just a drop of his blood to run tests on it. But when these two come together it gets hot!! The secrets in this book were unbelievable as well as the twists and turns that kept coming. Action packed, shocking, a quick read and overall just absolutely amazing story.
To say “I was excited about more from The Killian Blade series” is an understatement. This book just adds to an already amazing series. This story follows Lucifer & Evren as the main characters, however, we still get to see several of the past characters. Evren is a goddess and trying to help save magic and fight for the humans. However, when angels decide to attack her, a very unexpected savior steps in. Lucifer is so swoon worthy at moments, I loved his wicked ways. I truly love all the characters within this world that Stella Brie has created and can not wait to get more.
Lucifer, what else can I say but the perfect Wicked Savior! His need to save Evren a “human” who turned out to be a Goddess, a woman who didn’t even want to be saved. She wanted the angels to come for her, which surprise are the villain in her story, well just Gabriel. I loved this tale of Lucifer who is not just any ruler of the underworld but wants to do good in his life, and does good for his people. This book was a slow burn, but the chemistry between these two are so good. I Loved their story and hope more is to come in the future!
*Make sure to read Arden’s story before reading this* I loved reading about Lucifer and Evren! They make such an interesting couple and they’re explosive when they come together. I like how the plot progressed and how who you think would be good guys aren’t. I love that we get to see Arden and the Cadre, plus all the other characters that make appearances. The story is well fleshed out. And that ending!
I really enjoyed this book and the story as it unfolded. It was the perfect blend of plot, character development, and world building. Stella did an amazing job with all of it. In this story we follow Evren and Lucifer, but we do see some past characters make an appearance. Evren is a woman on a mission. To find her mom as well as try to save the Druids from extinction. In doing so she becomes the target of the angels. So when she is attacked again Lucifer steps in and becomes her protector. This is a slow burn and it does take a bit for the romance to kick in, but when it does, the heat and chemistry between the two are undeniable. I can’t wait to see more of this world that Stella has created with Meri’s story.
Wicked Savior was everything I hoped and more. Stella Brie's twist on our favorite fallen Angel is enthralling and delicious. The chemistry between him and his lady love is tangible. The world building continues to expand and deepen as we explore and I have fallen in love with these characters more than even before. I cannot wait to see what's next for this series. Stella Brie is definitely bringing her A game.
Who doesn't love a story about Lucifer?! The dynamic between Lucifer and Evren was DELICIOUS and the lore and story that this author weaved with this book. The spice was delicious, the tension was divine. I just want to know more about certain characters and can't wait to see when and if they appear again!!
I liked this world but I also struggle to connect to the characters. Like they could be interesting but almost everything is to easy and they are all always so powerful which is just annoying.
I skipped through a lot of this because after the first three books this followed the same path just different entities.
While I enjoyed this book in the series, I didn't love it as much as the first 3 books. Again, very slow burn, with barely any spice. I love Lucifer, but the FMC was a bit annoying. This story was a little more confusing and I felt it was as thought out as the magical system in the first 3 books.
Still a decent read and I'm looking forward to Meri's duet.
It’s been a while since I read the first 3 books, so it took me a minute to remember what was going on, but once I did, I remembered why I love this series so much! This whole world is so engaging! I am guessing we will see a series about Meri next and I can’t wait!
I absolutely loved Lucifer and it was great to see Arden and her guys again. The plot was great and I couldn’t put the book down. Evren wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t dislike her by the end of the book.
I liked seeing more of Lucifer as he was fun in the Rowan series. Interesting perspective of religious events and how each side can have bad eggs. Wonder if Rivan will be a part of Meri's harem!
I enjoyed getting more of Lucifer. I always find it interesting to see how an author uses a religion in a new way. And it was great to see some of the characters from the previous books.
I thought this book was amazing! I’m so glad you gave Lucifer his own story. I couldn’t put it down just like the rest of the Killian Blade series. I’m excited to start Meri’s story now ❤️
DNF 27% I really tried with this book, I just couldn't connect with the characters. Which is a shame because Lucifer was a great character in the first three books of this series. The MFC was just meh. It was still well written it just (for me) didn't have that connecting spark.
I love this series and was so excited to read Lucifer's story! I loved that we still got to see characters from the Killian Blade Series also. Please remember to check the TW and CW before diving in.
I was astonished how much I miss this world. I loved Arden and her men. This just added to that feeling. Loved it and look forward to the next in the series.
Interesting interlude to the story and I enjoyed it a lot. I wonder what happened to her mother and Michael. There’s the prophecy after all. I liked the book.
If I had a nickel for every time the answer to a problem in this series was “racism and inbreeding are bad” I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it is weird it happened twice.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It was a good addition to the series I love blue the author just keeps making the world of the characters interesting I hope there is a book about Michale in the future.
