I like to read about cold cases being solved. Those murderers did not escape justice after all.
This is a good selection of cold cases being brought back to life. With the advancement of DNA technology, I can see many more cold cases being revived and solved.
I have researched and followed true crime for decades. Growing up in a large inner city ghetto exposed us to lots of crime early on. We knew as kids there were no such things as "safe neighborhoods" and that we should never ever take our safety for granted. I was always appalled at man's capacity for evil and cruelty and I always wanted to know how these predators operated. How did they spot and track someone to prey on. It always galled me especially when someone committed a heinous crime and got away with it. When I first heard about Cold Case Detectives I was elated. Never stop trying..never give up..😊 Most of the cases in this volume I knew about but I read each case over anyway. Your heart breaks for the victim's and their families. And sometimes you will get angry at a few cases in which the sentencing seems inappropriately light. But overall worthy of note to remember innocence lost and those who fight for them against all odds.
Once again Robert Keller has compiled and incredible array of murder cases. I don't like to read about unsolved murders. The solved ones are tragic enough. But when given the opportunity I will read cold cases that have been cold for years until they finally get solved.
Unfortunately when a couple decades or more pass family members (e.g., parents) often have passed away without finding out who caused the disappearance of their child, spouse, or sibling. And sometimes not even if they'd been killed but suspecting something terrible had happened because disappearing was the last thing their much loved relative whatever do.
It's rewarding to see these cases solved but frustrating that some sentences were too short. Overall I found these cases fascinating especially when the advances in forensics aided in recovering a great deal of evidence. Which lead to proving the guilt of a perpetrator who thought they'd gotten away with the perfect murder.
Number 3 in this series by Mr. Keller, it describes 18 more solved cases. I’ve heard of a few of these, but the one I’m most appalled at is that of Alison Parrot, 11 years old. The suspect had a particular M. O. that apparently the judge or legal system prevented it being presented to the court/jury. Not being a lawyer, I found this unbelievable. Apparently that would be prejudicial. But the M. O. was exactly used to lure Alison in. Sometimes I’m just baffled.
First off let me start off with everything I have read from Mr. Keller has been great. He is very talented and knows what his readers are looking for. So if you are looking for a great true crime book with the facts and in this series cold cases being solved, then look no further. I promise once you read one of his books you will be stuck….. now I’m just waiting for his next release! Keep up all the great work…
Justice may be slow, and not always as severe as it should be, but these criminals were caught and punished. This is a page turner and the author has done a great job.
The case summaries provided pertinent details and although the crimes are disturbing it is reassuring to know the perpetrators were brought to justice and the hard work of the detectives paid off.
Wow this one hit a little to close to home!! One case was about 30 miles from my home, did not live in the state when it happened so did not know about it, but when mentioned to my husband he remembered it!!
This book offered readers detailed accounts of 18 cold cases of murder that were eventually solved. These cases occurred in different time periods as well as different locations. I highly recommend this book to other true crime readers.
This is the third short compilation of crime cases that turned cold but were solved years later by Robert Keller. It's very fascinating how we can solve cold cases using technology and DNA analysis to find the offender. This is a great series with tons of information surrounding each case.
I listened to this on audiobook format. More succinct true crime stories but this time there were a few that were not solved thanks to DNA testing years down the track.
