For those wanting to understand their gut and get out of whatever plateau they’re in, this book is for you. It’s simple, it’s concise, it has terminology explained for those who don’t study it, and gives a great guide at the end. I will say, this book is for those wanting to kick start their health, not really for those who have delved deep into their problems. I love her holistic approach because no matter what disease one has: IBS, diabetes, weight gain issues, etc. the gut is tied to it and our “healthcare” today only addresses that particular issue and doesn’t tell you how other aspects of health can benefit your issue. The book may seem bold but it’s an easy read so no matter how busy you are, you can definitely squeeze in some time to improve your goals :)
Overall I think this book has a pretty good balance of the basic information and some more advanced information. I like how the author talked about Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine and offered a different perspective then other books I've read have centered on. I think this book will continue to serve as good reference material.
A good overview of gut health with plenty of references. There is some valuable information included. I am intrigued by her 4 week menu plan but it seems like it could be hard to follow if also cooking for a family.
I liked the descriptive nature of the gut. I love that there is a 4 week plan to improve your gut health and a grocery lost to go with each week. I'm looking forward to giving this healthy way of restoring my gut microbiome.
Really made me think about the different bacteria are good and help our body. Makes me want to try more vegetable meals. Also broke all the steps down to an easy understanding.
Very basic if you’ve already been reading about gut health. The meal plan is all Indian-based cuisine which I love but already know quite a bit about. I was hoping to get something new from this book but for me, it’s all reiteration.
