I'd been looking forward to reading this book for sometime. Was a fairly quick read and, my interest was held as Tempest was growing up in Georgia. Applauded her for making the break and, running away to the world of burlesque. Was her saving grace. She got what and whom she wanted on her own terms. Tho her insides seemed empty at times, she always pursued the next victory. I'm glad she got her story into print and, shared it with us. What an epic journey! Thankyou Tempest! Bravo!
The chapters detailing Storm's early life and the way she worked her way to California were interesting and kept me from putting this book down. However, after telling us how she got her start in burlesque the rest of the book is mainly her account of her romantic encounters/relationships. While this is supposed to be Tempest Storm's side of the story regarding these relationships, the overly romantic descriptions were tedious and made me role my eyes several times. There is a running theme that Storm was always pining for a True Love. There was little about the world of burlesque which I would've found more interesting. I have heard that Storm disliked this biography and if this is the case I can see why.
