Daddy's Little Cupcake

Rate this book
Charlotte is shy and insecure. With her life working at the bakery, she’s had to suppress her little side to make ends meet. But all she wishes for is for someone to be her Daddy. And even when she does find one, she feels that he doesn’t want her, in any shape or form.

Finn is a Daddy Dom. He’s one of the owners of a club, specifically BTK. But whenever he finds a potential little, they are all fake toward him. When he almost throws in the towel and gives up on finding his little girl, his gaze finds her. She’s coloring on the floor in his club, and immediately after speaking with her, he knows she’s going to be his.

Charlotte wasn’t sure of Finn, and she still isn’t. Yet Finn is going to prove to her that she is meant to be Daddy’s Little Cupcake.

Okay... I don't like to say bad things in reviews, but this one was tough. I always finish, but I struggled with this one.
The worst was the repetitive sentences, omg, there were pages where the characters said the same thing twelve different ways, and it got tedious. Then there was the inconsistency, he dropped her off at home, but then a few pages later wants to know where she lives or the bills in her car all of a sudden on her kitchen table.

Lastly we have complete lack of character growth. Like, look... Insecurities are great, and even fine for both characters, but legit, give us a reason for them and show the characters moving past them. I honestly couldn't stand Charlie by the end of the book. Her absolute whiny, cry over everything ways got to be a bit too much for me. Especially when she obviously has friends who care about her but she never reaches out to them. And what about the fact that after she meets Finn they are never mentioned again? I don't know that I'll try any more, that was painful.

DNF… I think I got through 2 chapters before I quit. The poor FMC is afraid of her own shadow and the MMC sounds like he has abandonment issues. This would definitely be a book for beginners to ease them into Dd/Lg… however the book felt like it was missing something, I think the author isn’t a strong writer either. Oh and the part where the FMC said when she slips into little space and can’t remember ANYTHING she did including buying $200 worth of little gear… let’s just say this DOES NOT HAPPEN. Just because you slip into little space doesn’t mean you lose complete control of your actions or mental state.

This was a cute age gap Daddy/Little story.

This story centered around a young woman named Charlotte. She is shy and insecure. She has been working at a bakery. She’s had to suppress her little side to make ends meet. All she wishes for is a Daddy. When she finds one she’s afraid that he won’t want her.

At a BDSM club where they have a Little’s area. At the club there is a Daddy Dom named Finn. He is one of the owners of the club. He sees Charlotte and he knows that she is the Little for him. I liked Finn as a Daddy Dom. I didn’t like Charlotte because he would ask her to talk to him and she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t talk to him about being her Daddy or that she was struggling financially. I think that Charlotte could have gone to Finn and talked to him about her problems. I liked how sweet Finn was to Charlotte.

This book does have potential but I found there to be a lot of spelling and sentence errors, usually it doesn't bother me much if there is an error here and there but there were a lot unfortunately, this impacted the enjoyment of reading this book.

I also found the author was very repetitive throughout the story, I can understand the FMC being repetitive at times as that is somewhat expected but not the MMC, it doesn't make sense for him to sound the way he did, it was almost like he was a Little at times with his thoughts.

There were also instances which didn't make sense, for example the MMC drops the FMC at her home after they have met up, then a few chapters later he didn't know where she lived.

I believe the author should do a re-edit of this book to give it a chance to be better. I will be reading the next book in this series to give her another shot as it does have a better rating than this one.

Ummm…. No! Just no! This book was not for me at all, yet I kept pushing thinking it would change. I will never ever yuk someone’s yum and maybe this is how this dynamic actual works, but for me it felt like something was off with both characters. It seemed they fell into the dynamic within minutes of meeting, with no discussion of limits and triggers for either of them until much later. The author had a great idea, just not sure the follow through was there.

Finn throws himself into his business and doesn't leave a lot of time for a personal life. Charlotte works at a bakery and doesn't have a lot of time to be Little. They were both looking and hoping for their forever partners and almost gave up, until they met each other.

Finn is such a great Daddy to his Little. He helps her through her anxiety and her naughty times. His patience with her is amazing.

Charlotte doesn't have much of a poker face (very relatable for me) and her face shows everything she thinks. She has to learn to trust her Daddy to guide her through life and have her best interests at heart.

I totally recommend this book and this new author! I can't wait to read more of her books!

This was super cute! Finn is the perfect Daddy for Charlotte and does everything he can to ease her anxiety throughout the whole story and it’s nice to see it ease by the end. I also have to mention how great it was set up for a 9 book series.

This authors break out novel was a good one. I love how she gives in sight to how a little in the littles age range works. And I always love little/daddy books where the little finds a protective daddy.

Daddy’s Little Cupcake is the first in Evelyn Raines’ Missouri Daddies series. In it, she chronicles the age-play romance of Charlotte and Finn. Charlotte is a dysfunctional Little. Events in her past and her personality make her a reclusive shy Little. She’s been alone for most of her life. Finn is one of the owners of the BTS club which predominantly serves DD/Lg population. He wants his own Little but has been unsuccessful in finding her. Destiny brings these two together when Charlotte accompanies her friend, Diana, to the club for a little R&R. Finn spot her and is instantly attracted to her. He goes to her and spends time with her. Thus begins the long and bumpy journey toward a forever relationship.

This is the first time I read one of Ms. Raines’ works. I appreciate her skill with literary devices such as conversation dialog and internal monologues, dual POV, and descriptive language. This plot is definitely a character driven plot as readers witness the way in which Charlotte grows. I like how Finn is understanding, empathetic, protective, and caring as he guides her along her growth journey. I did not appreciate how this plot dragged on. So much time is spent in Charlotte’s mind that so many scenes are repetitive. What saved me from being turned off with the repetitive pace was the introduction of secondary characters that hint to focus on subsequent books in this series.

Phew didn’t think I would finish this. Too many spelling mistakes, and not very well written.

I didn’t like this book. I didn’t like Charlotte or Finn. She’s constantly crying about everything, she falls over and she’s screaming that everything hurts, like she’s broken a bone, then a few minutes later she’s fine. She’s got six million insecurities but it’s never explained what made her like that! She’s CONSTANTLY thinking he’s going to be mad at her, dump her, etc etc.

I love a good daddy/dom book but this one was terrible. Just because Charlotte is a little doesn’t mean she’s stupid! The author writes as though she is, because she’s a little. Her electricity and water are turned off as she’s got so behind with her bills and she’s no idea why or how. It’s not explained either.

Then there’s Finn who is constantly questioning himself about Charlotte. He’s the daddy and he was constantly checking with her if she was okay, and it’s tedious.

It’s like this author has no idea about daddies and littles. Did she just decide to write about them without any research? I’m sorry as that’s harsh but this book was annoying.

This book made me realize I can't read any anxious person' s monologue. I felt like it got more annoying as it kept going on. Also, it didn't give me what I was looking for in terms of the story, because we didn't get to see much of the relationship between daddy Dom and little girl. I feel like the focus of the story was mostly about the FMC being "chased" by the MMC, and accepting her identity rather than then exploring everything, which was a smaller part by the end of the story. I was not interested in finishing the book by the 70-80% mark as the story lost its appeal.

** From the reviews, I understand it might be the author's first book. I just hope the others improve as they come out**

I wasn't sure I'd make it to the end of this one. There's a lot of repetition, spelling mistakes and inconsistencies. He drove her home then the next chapter, he understands that she doesnt want him to know where she lives yet, for example.

I didn't really like Charlotte, I understand life admin overwhelm but felt in the end she was portrayed as stupid and I couldn't deal with her crying all the time about everything. There's also no background to why she thinks and behaves the way she does so it's hard to empathise/relate to her. I wanted to like Finn but his hesitance to ask basic questions and constant check ins was repititive. There was also no background to him either which again made it hard to like him.

I love a good daddy dom book but this just wasn't for me.

📖

I liked that this was a slower burn of a Daddy/Little story. The chemistry really pulled me in. I found myself trying to find pockets of time so I could pick this up again. There were little things that were annoying, but I was willing to overlook them. Like how we are told about the club having 9 owners over and over, actually there were a lot of things that got repeated to the point I realized it was just to make the book longer.

Then there were inconsistencies like he/she would get flipped from sentence to sentence so you had to reread to figure out who was talking. He drove her home, but then a chapter later was praising her for not letting him know where she lives because they just met and it's not safe for a single woman to let random guys know her address. The bills magically traveled from her car to her kitchen. The passage of time was weird: like literally only a few days had passed and one second they didn't have time to get together and the next they had been spending so much time together. She met a friend and one second she has no time because of her second job then she had hung out a lot with her new friend. She turned 'beat read' at one point.

But what made me stop was the fact that he had made a point to not force things quickly because he didn't want her to run away. It got to the point that he didn't want to push even though he thought she was getting sick. She said she was fine, so he didn't push. Well, her power and water get cut off because she didn't pay her bills that same night, her symptoms get worse and she calls him in the middle of the night and he runs over to get her and take her back to his house. Okay so far, he was understanding about her messy house, was angry at himself for not realizing how much she was overworked/stressed and wanted to take care of her. But he then he called one of the co-owners of the club who used to be a doctor to come look at her. Then he went from wanting to keep her comfortable to allowing a stranger to stick a thermometer up her butt, even though there are so many better ways to take her temperature. She of course didn't like it. Then as the "doctor" was leaving, he left a bottle of 'special' medicine, they winked and nudged and shared a sleazy grin. The medicine was suppository fever reducer because he didn't want her to throw up regular medicine.

He kept her pants off so she was naked from the waist down until she woke up and he held her while she rested. That doesn't like someone who doesn't want to make someone uncomfortable. Then after basically bringing her Little age, which seemed between 4-7, down to barely toddler age, he wants to get her to drink something and the only thing she is interested in is chocolate milk, he puts some in a bottle. While she has a fever. I'm sorry, but I feel like everyone knows that if you drink dairy products while you have a fever it essentially curdles the milk and you throw up. So she has to get rectal medicine so she doesn't throw up but is given milk which will make her throw up.

I couldn't any more. The relationship jumped about 20 steps in a couple of hours without any real input from her about what she wanted because she was sick. There was so much filler and repeated details that made the story drag and not progress to then have it speed up so fast was too much. Then it just seemed like he and his friends were suddenly skeevy pervs and not Daddy Doms.

This book was a little like wearing you’re favorite blanket. You know when you just want to get home and crawl under you’re blanket and hide from the world or just want to snuggle? A little like that.

Now, thats not a negative point. I often mix my taste i books I read to cleanse my palate for example after a dark and disturbing one. This book is the one I would pick up cause it got the power to hold you in the story to want to know what happens in the end. But leaves a much happier naaw tone in you’re head.

If you’re like me and often scroll to the reviews to get “light” spoilers to know a little bit more… Sorry! Not sorry but I’m totally not going the give them away in concrete examples.

The hero?
Definitely decisive, driven and goes after what he wants but with patience and understanding that the one person he wants it’s not the best to just barge in and take over her life for. But also stands firm with his rules and not bends to her will when she wants to get out of said rules cause she did something she was not supposed to be doing.

Heroine?
Hmm.. thats a harder nut to crack. I like her. But in a way that’s easier to explain in feelings she invokes like feelings I would get to protect a innocent baby doe a really drunk girl at a party or a person that just looks lost and needs help. She fits Finn like a glove and her needs match his. The thing I admire with her? Is that she does not give up. She recognizes her limitations and try so hard to hold them. Although she cries like a lot and often struggles with easy things it’s just as easy to judge her character as “wimpy” but thats not always the case. I sometimes caught myself almost rolling my eyes at her but then remember that I judged her for how you “should” behave or deal with by society’s standards. So so so wrong. When I caught that thought her character was much easier to relate to.

To sum up?
The book I definitely worthy of reading and I look forward to know more of what the author is gonna write, awesome debut! The one think I would love to se more of is story building. You totally got the story but I wanted to get to know the characters better and the world they lived in. But! Almost impossible without a lengthy or longer book. So can definitely be my preference to just want more of Finn and Charlotte. Absolutely worth my time to read. Cred to the author though that explores younger littles and Abdl.

Got this book as an ARC and yes people I really did leave you with MY opinion and not what I thought would give me +++
How do I know? Cause I’m totally guilty in thinking that of other who leaves ARC sometimes😜🤭

This book was so aggravating to read. One minute Finn is supposedly a strict daddy-dom the next he’s so damn unsure of himself.. then we have Charlie, a little who doesn’t know what the hell she’s on about; where she wants Finn to be Daddy but another it’s “what if”. Ugggghhhh just stttooppp already.. Then the book has a few inconsistencies; in the early part of the book, Finn takes Charlie home when he comes looking for her after work, then two chapters later, we’re reading that Charlie refused to let him take her home because she didn’t want him to know where she lives 😭😩

I am getting so annoyed😫..And this focus that Charlie is struggling financially soooo often, but as a little she never once tried to ask for help or communicate.. now I get it, they’re trying to make it look like she is putting in the effort, but girl, just no!!

And then we touch on even though she doesn’t know how to budget but spends $ online shopping. It’s like the author tried to make this weak little girl into a boss bitch that failed miserably.. maybe some sexy times would have distracted away from the mismatch & flaws noticed …. There’s not real background on who the characters are….

😔I struggled to finish this one. While the plot was great, it didn’t meet its climax… sorry I ranted a bit there…..

I picked it up during a Stuff Your Kindle day, intrigued by the title, but found myself struggling to get through it.

I got this title during a Stuff Your Kindle day and wish I never wasted my time with it. Totally not what I expected. The story delves into the niche topic of Daddy Doms and Little Girls, which (not to yuck anyone's yum) is not for me. However, my main issues with the book go beyond the subject matter. The writing itself is subpar and lacks the engagement and depth necessary to hold a reader's interest.

The characters are poorly developed, making it difficult to connect with them or care about their journeys. The plot is meandering and fails to build any meaningful tension or excitement. Instead of being an intriguing exploration of a unique relationship dynamic, the story feels dull and monotonous.

While I understand that different readers have different tastes and that some may find enjoyment in this book, it was not a good fit for me. The combination of an unappealing topic and lackluster writing made Daddy's Little Cupcake a disappointing read.

Sometimes slow and sweet is just what daddy ordered.
This story offered exactly that. Finn and Charlotte were the perfect characters to introduce us to this series.
Both characters suffered from trust issues and it was amazing to see them both grow and learn to trust each other with their hearts.
While this book was listed as and age-play book and it does feature some elements such as bottles and spankings, I would rate that portion of the book on the lower end of things. The softness of what the author exposed us to was different than what I am used to. I didn’t hate that though. It was refreshing to read something that had age-play elements to it, but that wasn’t the main focus.
Overall I am very happy that I had the opportunity to read this book. I can’t wait to see what else there is in store for future characters.

*The author gifted me this book for review consideration but all opinions are my own.*

A good Daddy/little story, but.....

Finn is a very special Daddy and knew Charlotte was his at first sight. He seemed to be very patient with her and could almost read her mind at times. Charlotte was an anxious little baker with a lot of self degradation tendencies. This story was so detailed that you felt like you were in the scene with them. That said, I almost felt it was written like she was very immature and things were way over-explained. There were quite a few typos at the end too. I needed more background info on both of them like- was she all alone in the world? Was he? Why did she mention people always making fun of her? Was it true or just her over thinking things? I kept waiting for her landlord to evict her and it's not until the end that we find out she owned her house. How can she be that bad with finances and own a house? So many questions. I just feel exhausted after reading this. Not sure if I want to keep going. We'll see.

poorly written

I wasn’t sure if I was interested in age play and it turns out it’s not really my thing. I did still find the idea of people being well suited finding love together appealing though.

That being said this book needs some serious editing which is why I’ve rated it so low. There are grammatical errors that are a bit irritating, wrong words being used so the sentence doesn’t make sense, but even more so there are several inconsistencies in the story that make it difficult to read. For example, there is a part where the MMC wants to go to the FMC’s home but doesn’t know where she lives but just a few pages before he had driven her home from work so he has been there just days before. Or declaring someone not knowing something and then in the next sentence saying that person has told someone about it. It resulted in me having to back track in the book to reread only to realize these points in the plot make no sense.

I enjoyed this sweet DD/lg story. I would consider it a slow burn because it took over half the book to get to the typical things one would expect from the DD/lg dynamic. One thing that was different from other books I have read in this genre is the FMC was never really completely out of little head space she just felt older or younger depending on the situation. My only complaint is I’m the first part of the book there was lots of internal thoughts and not much actual conversation between the main characters. There were paragraphs of worrying about what they were going to say and how the other person was going to respond and then like two sentences of conversation and then back to internal dialogue and worry. I think the author was trying to convey the FMC’s anxiety but it got to be too much. Later on it got better. I look forward to reading the next book.

A beautiful story with Finn and Charlotte

This certainly is a beautiful book to read. Everly Raine (for a new author) has certainly done herself proud with this story, it gives the readers of age play all those wonderful feel good feelings. I absolutely loved Finn for Charlotte, he certainly was patient , like a good daddy should be and he was wise enough to know her body language.
As for Charlotte when her friend took her to the club, she really didnt want to go that night as she was so tired, but it certainly took a turn when she found the most handsome Daddy drawing with her.
Together both Finn and Charlotte take a budding relationship slowly with Charlotte even earning herself a couple of spankings.

I really am looking forward to more of these books by Everly Raine, well done. And for those of you who love age play and daddy books you will absolutely love this

So far, I really like this book. These are a guilty pleasure book for me. However, as soon as I started chapter eleven and read the sentence that all of the owner had Littles but Finn and Mac I was no longer immersed in the story. In chapter two she has stated that all of the owners were single and looking for a little to cherish. I'm always here and willing to read a book prior to release to help catch things. I'll update the review when I'm done. But I like the way she tells the story. Back and forth between them and where Finn van read Charlotte's body language really well. I think it's how we fantasize about someone coming in and caring for us would be. One comment is I feel if Mac and Finn were really a good of friends as it seems wouldn't Finn have caught on to Mac having an eye on a little for a long time? Just my opion.

This book could have used a better editor. In one instance I laughed aloud at how ridiculous it was. There was a LOT of repetition, such as "That’s all if later on, when they got to know each other, she became his baby girl. That was all if she was his baby girl, but right now, she wasn’t." or "He longed for that, and Finn might be getting it soon. He really hoped he would be getting it soon."

While I liked reading about the DDlg dynamic, some aspects of this story just seemed really far-fetched. How many paid days off would an employer realistically give you if you were sick? Did Charlotte's water and power ever get turned on? Why didn't Finn ask her permission before he used the ginger on her? Additionally, this book just kinda ended. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger, but maybe it was leading into the next book in the series.

I do enjoy a dd/lg romance, but found myself wanting to dnf this one because it felt like it was constantly repeating the same words over and over. Although as a story it was an okay read, I did carry on until the end because I hoped it was more a me thing and not the book itself. Charlotte was a very worrisome little, constantly second guessing herself and everyone around her. It felt like her and finn could have overcome so much more if she had more faith in herself and those that cared for her. Finn was a wonderful daddy, taking everything at her pace. It was more an introduction to the dd/lg lifestyle than spicy s*x scenes im my opinion but others may feel differently.
