Moving to Moodle after working with Blackboard and WebCT since 1997 is somewhat of a relief. However it is important to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of each learning management system. William Rice has offered a clear and helpful guide for me and others through _Moodle 2.0: E-learning course development_. He has presented the counter-intuitive elements of Moodle and its capacity to generate learning moments for students. I was very impressed by his decision to structure the book with attention to adding static, interactive and social elements to a course.

This is a solid 'how to' guide for Moodle and it has helped me make the transition from the other Learning Management Systems. It is well written, effectively illustrated with screen shots and honest in the oddities and power of Moodle.
