Rate this book
Graceful, serene, and elegant, the art of fly fishing also provides thrilling, pulse-pounding contests between angler and fish. It's an art whose basics can be picked up in a morning, but whose finer points can be developed and refined over a lifetime. This book teaches the basics of rod, reel, and line selection, casting, fly selection and tying, and reeling in the big ones. It also offers secret tips on promising locations to find fish, how to "read" water, and what flies work best on what fish in what types of water and weather conditions. Safety on land and on water are also stressed and discussed thoroughly, as is environmental respect and conservation. A delightful introduction to the sport and art of fly fishing, this book will inspire in readers a lifetime of outdoor activity, passion, and stewardship.

Fly Fishing
Fishing: Tips and Techniques: Love the introduction to the fishing series and it makes fishing seem doable and fun… but once you conclude the first 5 chapters you realize that although this is a hobby for many, it can be difficult. This hobby is timeless!!!, it can also be life-long, fun for the entire family and a great outdoor activity. This is a splendid series and it is chocked full of on-level, useful user-friendly bits of information with bright, clear, colorful pictures of actual up-dated techniques and tack ; additionally, there are photos of women, kids and ‘non’ traditional fishing novice and professionals. This book in the series at the conclusion of chapter 6 helps with the discussion of the ethical issue of fishing; a discussion can be had about law enforcement, echo-systems, and what can be done to help with the ‘future generation’ of fishing. Even environmental issues can be drawn into the fishing conversations. I would suggest all school have this series on hand in their libraries, it was fantastic… hook, line and sinker!!! OH yea, there is even a bibliography page for individuals who wish to authenticate this information and because of the page it is valued at a researchable reference text.
