For Confederate soldier Jack Dalton, it seems the Civil War will never be over, until he heads west on a mission to rob Yankee payrolls and lives with the Nez Perce+a7, where he meets a beautiful woman, who changes his vengeful ways forever. Original.
(4.5 rounded to 5) I really enjoyed this civil war perspective in history that you don’t really see much. Usually the south is vilified and the north glorified. The author does a great job of demonstrating the viewpoints of the southern side and some of the brutal mistreatment by the north after the war. Dalton, our main character continues his quest for revenge long after the war is over by helping the native Americans stand a chance against his old foes. As a military history, major, I found this book to be quite enjoyable. Highly recommended if you enjoy old school westerns in the spirit of Clint Eastwood’s the outlaw Josie Wales.
