The Tavern Wench

Rate this book
It was the dream of every young girl who worked in the drudgery of a London alehouse...

Lovely Keziah Gilchrist received an astonishing offer from a passing stranger and she was paid to become a lady. Love, fine clothes, high society were suddenly in her grasp. It was tempting and posed no risk. Or so she believed.

Masquerading as the long lost niece of the ailing dowager, Lady Rutledge, Keziah was dressed in exquisite silks and velvets, introduced to society, and, much to her surprise, became the belle of the ball. What surprised her even more was the attentiveness of Charles, a perfect gentleman of good looks and money, who seemed to be related to Lady Rutledge.

Everything seemed to be just right, Keziah thought, until a sudden rush of events taught her that things aren't always what they seem...
