I am a forever fan of Hope-Brown. I was after reading Sanctuary, but this one is even better! Hope-Brown takes the two characters, Laura and Dan, and places them in various worlds and timelines. This iteration made me fall even more in love with these two characters. Did I want to shake both of them at times? YES! But my heart was filled with so much joy and happiness reading about these two. I also loved all of the supporting cast of characters in this book – the two families, and the dog, Buddy! There is everything to love about this book and nothing not to like. It really is the sweetest romance book. Okay, I’ll stop gushing, now go get your copy and read it!

"Different universes. Different timelines. Different iterations of the same people"

Thank you to Love Book Tours and Eliza Hope Brown for my free copy in return for an honest review!

Dan was ten years old when Laura was born; as the youngest children in their families their bond was indescribable. They have been best friends for as long as they both can remember.
"You good? We're okay?" they consistently ask one another as their way of connecting, determining to let nothing and no one come between them. Yet, both of them live in denial of something that is obvious to every single person around them: they are head over heals in love with one another. Time will tell if they can find the courage to set aside their friendship and finally be together.

The Good:
There is something so special about the character of Dan, and the way he always shows up for Laura. He respects their age difference, and has the presence of mind and maturity to ensure that any decisions they make romantically are respectful of one another. He is really sweet, both to Laura and their family members. His only fault is his absolute denial of his feelings!

The Bad:
I felt really bad for Laura's boyfriend. I think that it was obvious to all the characters, including the boyfriend and the reader that these two were head over heals for one another. I'm not sure what kept Laura with this guy, and seven years of being strung along would be very frustrating. I wonder if there were other ways to keep the couple apart!

The Verdict:
An absolutely sweet and enjoyable classic romance that reminds the reader how joyous it is to fall in love with your best friend.

I also can't wait to explore the rest of the Sweet Inevitability Series!

I enjoyed reading an alternate story about Laura and Dan after first meeting them in Sanctuary.

Colours follow the story of Laura and Dan as they navigate their friendship, relationship, lives and love. It follows their journey from Laura’s birth to adulthood and how this exclusive relationship affects their relationships with others.

It is a book on friendship (and so the word will appear often). I enjoy reading about the friendship/relationship between the two families.

I really wanted to throttle Laura and Dan both for stringing each other along and Laura for stringing her boyfriend along. But even he should have known he was a third wheel.

There were some over the top reactions from Laura which were not needed but can be attributed to her age and experience.

I loved how the author used ‘Sanctuary’ as an eye opener for Laura and an opportunity to introduce her other book, Muse.

If you enjoy the friends to lovers trope then you will enjoy this.

I received a copy of this book and the review is entirely mine.

This is a sweet childhood friends to lovers romance.

Dan is the ultimate book boyfriend - he is completely devoted to Laura and the dual point of view helped to really showcase the depth of his feelings for Laura. He really loves her.

I really struggled with my feelings towards Laura. I genuinely believed that she loved Dan and I never doubted that. But she was in a relationship for a long time, despite those feelings. I think we were supposed to feel that her boyfriend was a bad guy, but actually she cheated on him and was stringing him along. And when she got jealous of Dan having a girlfriend, I got really annoyed. I felt the book was written in a way that was quite forgiving of her behaviour. Where is if a man had behaved like this, he’d have been cast as the bad guy.

Having said this, it is a really easy romantic read. There is genuine love there and you definitely end up rooting for this couple.

This is a great book for when you want to romance with lots of emotion.

A great continuation of the sweet Inevitability series.

Thank you @ElizaHopeBrown @KellyALacey @lovebookstours #Ad #LBTCrew #BookTwitter for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. This is the second book I have read by Eliza Hope Brown, the first one was Sanctuary but I must admit Colours is my favourite. I love the relationship between Laura and Dan it seems so easy between them and loving. I found Colours to be an additive and beautiful read that left me on an emotional rollercoaster. Colours is a heartwarming and feel-good read that will make an excellent summer read. The story is easy to get into and I felt like I wanted to yell at the characters at times to get them to sort there selfs out and see what is right in front of them but I' m glad they eventually did sort their heads out and have a happy ending. Colours is a lovely romance story that you will fall in love with, and it is very hard to put down. Hope there is a next book. 5 stars.

This book Colours by @elizahopebrown is book 2, of the Sweet Inevitability Series. I am yet to read Sanctuary, but Colour as a standalone book was indeed a quick, breezy, beautiful read.

This contemporary romance novel focuses on the themes of friendships, love and heart-warming romance. If you love reading books that talk about being best friends to lovers/soul mates, then Colours is the right pick for you.

I absolutely loved how Dan and Laura are smitten by each other and love each other throughout, irrespective of the wrongs in their respective lives. But having said this, Laura got to my nerves especially when she lets her boyfriend hanging. However the plot is very beautiful and the writing style of the author keeps you hooked into it!

I also loved how the author roped in Sanctuary as eye opener for Laura and made her realise her true feelings. Now I can't wait to read both Sanctuary and the part 3 of the series.

I loved the first book in this series so it will be no shock to anyone that I also loved this one.
It is a beautiful read that is well written with a engaging and captivating storyline, a dual point of view perspective and well developed characters who I loved. I love books with a dual point of view perspective as it makes me feel like I really know the book and the characters.

The characters had their faults, well some of them, Dan obviously is perfect 🤓😂, but I appreciated that imperfection in them because they made them more relatable. The characters were by far my favourite thing in the book.

A quick, easy and lovely read that had me laughing out loud and turning pages at the speed of light. I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down.

This is book 2 in the Sweet Inevitability Series and the second book that I've read by this author having read book 1, Sanctuary, earlier this year.

Having loved Sanctuary, I couldn't wait to dive into this one too and I was not disappointed.

It was lovely to revisit Laura and Dan, but this time in a different universe. I was instantly drawn out them both, like coming back to old friends and this makes them instantly relatable and had me rooting for them to get together.

Having said this, I was a little disappointed that Laura was a little more unlikable for me in this story. Being already with someone else and her keeping him hanging on for so long, even though it was clear that she had strong feelings for Dan, just didn't sit well with me.

This did makes things interesting emotionally though as I really wanted to be totally there for them, yet had to fight my nature to overlook the flaws.

I loved that this was told as a dual pov as that helped me to connect to each of the main characters fully. I always love to see right into their minds so that I can become immersed in the events and emotions of the storylines.

Another cute romance and another great, quick read. I can't wait to see what book 3 brings us.

What a beautiful read - despite Laura frequently frustrating me massively! I completely fell in love with Dan. Also, Max - have a cute kid in a story, and I'm a sucker!
What really made this great was the characters, the two families, and their shared love and history. They also made me laugh, quite a lot at their straight-forwardness.
I really like a dual-perspective story, and this really got the balance between Laura and Dan just right!
A really fast read, I completed it in one sitting over the course of an evening.
Beautiful.

I previously read sanctuary and finished the book very quickly, loving the romance. So when I saw colours, I knew I had to read this also.

Colours was another super quick read for me, I read it in one sitting. It is a romance, that just leaves you feeling so happy, you just can't help but smile as you read it. Who doesn't love a feel good romance?

I'm vert excited to read the authors third book 'Muse' now, and loved the mentions of both sanctuary and muse within colours.

This was really interesting and unique! This was a sweet romance. I loved how close the families were, and think there’s something really special about having been friends for so long before becoming lovers. I felt so bad for Laura’s boyfriend though! This is a short and sweet read that I really enjoyed, and I will definitely be checking out more from this author!

Colours is EHB’s second book, following on from Sanctuary. I admit to being nervous to start reading Colours because I loved Sanctuary, but my nerves were proved to be unfounded. The premise is very clever. Our two main protagonists are the same characters, but equally are not the same characters. If you’ve read Sanctuary you feel like you should already know them, and you sort of do but sort of don’t.

It’s another great read, a great story with brilliant characters and a storyline that holds your interest. It links back to Sanctuary but equally could be ready as a stand-alone book.

Summer holiday season is almost upon us and this is a perfect book for on the plane/by the pool – well, anywhere really! Grab it soon.

Full disclosure- i edited this book. However I am reviewing as a reader and a die-hard fan.

Having loved Sanctuary by the same author, I had high hopes for this one and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

This story has everything and provokes every emotion known to man. And woman. There are far too many beautiful moments to mention, suffice to say my heart will never recover.

Also worth saying that there is one part that made me feral with anger and I wanted to cause actual physical harm to a fictional character. I should say I am not in any way a violent person, that is just how well written this book is and the strength of character creation Eliza Hope-Brown is capable of.

Do what you have to do to get this book into your hands. You will not regret it. Easily in my all-time top three.

This is the book I never knew I needed, one I know I will always come back to. An absolute triumph of contemporary fiction. A perfect read.

What a page turner! I loved this book and the main characters were really relatable and loveable.

The author was particularly clever using her first book as a trigger for one of the main characters, Laura. There was even mention of her third book which I cannot wait to read!

This is such a cute romance novel which I devoured in less than 24 hours! I highly recommend.
