HOW DO YOU SURVIVE IN A WORLD THAT DOESN'T EXIST?....

*
I don't tell anyone anything anymore.
They look to me, and I don't have the heart to tell them the truth.
That I am broken. That I am desperate.
I stay quiet. Because I have to be brave.

*
Jackson Smith never wanted to become a leader, but now he is taking a group out of Miranda in the hopes of finding a test community equipped with what he needs to get back home.

But it won't be easy, since his already shaky alliance with the new leader of Miranda lies in tatters.

Constantly uncertain about whether he can keep his friends safe, Jackson focuses on his memories of the girl he loves to keep him going. The girl he sacrificed his one wish for.

But with so much danger waiting beyond the limits of the city, Jackson will need more than love to see his journey through to the end.

And if his broken heart doesn't kill him, something else outside of Wicker Farm just might.

With "Lost," the second book in the YA sci-fi/dystopia adventure The Taken Trilogy, Zia Marie turns up the heat and the hurt, keeping readers locked into her world and hoping to have them tearing out their hair as they wait for the final book.

Includes the novella, "Over There," Book 2.5 of the Taken Trilogy.

Good, quick read with some slow parts that can bore some, but it picks up quite a bit towards the end.

While I loved book #1 I only "liked" book #2. Like every other trilogy it sort of suffered from middle book syndrome.

The story picks up right at the end of "Taken" and in the middle of the chaos, this gave the book a strong beginning.....While the beginning was strong the rest just lagged. Jackson had so much potential to become a stronger character but he just because a weak hormonal boy. He made some questionable decisions that just made no sense, to me at least. This made the story just drag along quite slowly.

I liked all the action, twists and turns of Taken which Lost lacked. Hopefully it all ties in in the last installment. Can't wait for #3 =)

Loved this novel.

I am a sucker for a book that develops its characters in a realistic manner while pushing the plot forward, and Marie does this with aplomb. It may be a slow read for some, but I powered through it.

I loved the theme of a brother doing all he can to care for his sister and get them back home, where they belong. Sibling love is strong in this one. There's also a bit of romance, but I never distracts from the plot in my mind. Well done.
