This is the second novel in the Children of Creation series.

Daniella Rossi has had a tough year. She’d always felt she was different from those around her, and within a matter of months, she discovered her life and that all she believed was true was nothing more than a farce. As a child of three different races of creation, Dani truly fits in with none.

As she waits out the winter in hiding with her two most trusted friends, her Guardians Nate and Ana, Dani struggles with the evolution of her romantic relationship with Nate, while being haunted most nights by dreams of a little boy begging for help. She doesn’t know where he is or what is wrong, but she has an overwhelming need to help him.

Forced to move on with the advent of spring, they search for answers while Dani completes her induction into the world of the unseen. She learns many things about love, life, and herself, as well as the true depth and nature of the strength within her along the way.

I couldn't wait for Induction to be published, and lucky me I didn't have to! I won the chance to preview the book before it actually hit the shelves (still ordered my own copy to have anyways.... I still have a thing for turning pages). I loved the growing relationship between Nate and Dani amidst everything else that was happening. I couldn't have imagined poor Nate; his whole life he never thought he'd have a relationship, bound strictly to the job he was given. J.D. did an incredible job expanding the relationship between these two dynamically different individuals while showing the struggles that they each faced along the way. This of course is happening while an epic battle of good versus evil looms all around them.

All I can say is I want my own Nate.... sigh! Romance, adventure, growth and change... and the table is set to blow my socks off in Book 3, Maelstrom. The teaser at the end was crazy good.

Okay, now I have to go read it again (4th time!)

Dani is trying to recover from her last battle and learning to use her nephillim abilities. She is also getting more comfortable with her relationship with Nate. It’s hard to get close to Nate since he has never been in love before, but it’s harder when she can sense everything he feels when they are together.

Dani receives strange dreams from a young boy that needs her help. He is in a colony and is about to be shipped of to Induction, the nephillim brainwashing camp. Then the nephillim start actively hunting Dani down, they go on the run to keep Dani safe. Dani has to step up practice to save the boy but also to try and keep her safe from being discovered.

I liked this story. I didn’t get a chance to read the first book so I admit that I was a little behind and never really got caught up. This was a good story. I loved the nephillim in it. I admit that although there was the planning and action of saving the young boy but it was mainly about Dani and Nate’s relationship. It was great the build up but I felt it took away from saving the kids. It was almost if that was thrown in to add purpose to the story.

In the end, this was a good story. I am going to get the first book, Convergence, and read that. I’m sure that will fill in the gaps that just never got explained. I’m also willing to purchase the third book, Maelstrom. I do feel that this is a good story and that it is one worth getting.

I received this book for free from the Library Thing Early Reviewers program in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, I really give this 3.5 stars, but that's not technically an option.

Induction, the second book in the Children of Creation Series by J.D. Watts, carries us forward in the life of Daniella Rossi; after her bravery in the field against Lucifer’s Infiltrator’s and learning of her Guardian Nathaniel being part of her destiny.

On the whole, Induction seems to serve as a bridge novel in the series - bringing some elements together and taking the time to build a groundwork for the future of the series. Though less action packed than Convergence, the true reader will enjoy reading as Daniella learns more about her unique heritage and how to navigate the complications of first love.

As it turns out, being able to use a fireblade is not Daniella’s only skill and it will take seemingly endless training to get her new talents under wraps. More importantly, it will take Daniella’s belief in herself and trust in The Master’s plan to truly guide her to His will.

The title, Induction, is a clever play on words for everything that takes place within the novel. First love and actualizing her heritage, to Daniella’s big task of helping a small boy that calls out to her in her sleep. Pleading with her to help him, save him from the evil that threatens his very soul. An evil so rotten it will strip him of his childhood innocence if Daniella can’t do what is required of her to stop his induction.

I have thought about what I would say about this great book a million times over and I'm still not sure how I should start this review. I could tell you that this book is way better than the first in this series and I loved the first book. I could tell you that I loved reading and watching these characters grow more and more in love. I could tell you that the plot is perfection and I couldn't put this book down.

Yes I could tell you all of these thing and I really just did. This book is perfection and the author is amazing and weaving a story together that leaves you grasping for more. Again I will say this...please can I have a Nate of my own! I love these characters and I simply can't wait to read the next book in this series and thank God I don't have to wait. (I've already read it lol, review to come soon!) Oh and I must say I love the descriptions in this story as well, I mean come on mountain cabin, leave me in there with Nate any day.

I love the style in which J.D. Watts writes, I love how she weaved a love story in with the good vs evil plot that she has in this series.

Simply put, I need more of this series and J.D. Watts is one of my favorite authors of this year.

All right, let me begin this review by telling you I was so excited to get my hands on the second book in author J.D. Watts' series of Children of Creation, Induction. And let me say I was not let down.

The only thing that I could say was that it did take me just a little bit to get into reading the first couple of chapters. Only due to me also reading a few other books at the same time, so by no means was it a reflection on the book or the author.

Author J.D. Watts writing style intrigues me. It sucks me into the characters life's and the story line by the plot and story is so wrapped up in paranormal but also in the human side of life as well.

for a book with so compelling a concept, it sure let me down... maybe it was because I didn't read the first book of the series, but maybe not. Maybe it is just a poorly conceived novel. The excuse of my not reading the first novel in the series and thusly not truly enjoying the second novel still doesn't make up for the fact that it is so full of grammical and punctuation mistakes that it left at least me wondering if it was even copy edited before being released. I read the ebook version from Smashwords so maybe the hard copy won't be so riddled with mistakes. (Crosses fingers)
