Private investigator Hannah Franklin has a new partner, her sizzling hot lover and technomage, Ian Bradley. But they may be in over their heads when brought in by their friend from the hospital to quietly solve a case that baffles even the police. The victims are being drained of blood and having their organs removed in a ritualistic fashion.
When Ian's attention narrows to solely encompass their work, he'll need to keep their relationship strong, or he could find himself repeating a painful past.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Sarah Mäkelä loves her fiction dark, magical, and passionate. She is a paranormal romance author, but she's written all over the romance spectrum with cyberpunk, sci-fi, fantasy, urban fantasy... even a sweet contemporary romance!
A life-long paranormal fan, she still sleeps with a night light. In her spare time, she reads sexy books, watches scary movies, and plays computer games with her husband. When she gets the chance, she loves traveling the world too.
Are there vampires on the loose? Is their favorite dining spot the local hospital or is there something far less Vlad and far more techno-insane going on? PI Hannah Franklin and technomage Ian Bradley have taken the case in an effort to keep things hush-hush until the case is solved. Face it, how confident would you be in a hospital whose patients end up drained and eviscerated? Who is doing the killing and why? Can people be scientifically given a new lease on life? Is this the future’s version of the Fountain of Youth? Is someone recycling bio-organs before the first user is finished?
Driven by the chase, intrigued by the challenge and determined to outwit these monsters, Ian may come up against the challenge of his life when he discovers another technomage exists. He also may lose the love of his life if he doesn’t cut with the tunnel vision.
Meanwhile, poor Hannah is even getting used to dealing with Bernard the Peeping Tom Gnome. Gah! Brilliant, talented and magical, not to mention hot as asphalt in the desert sun, Ian may rue the day they took this case if he doesn’t put some effort into his relationship.
Savage Bytes by Sarah Makela carries all of her signature snark, wry humor, danger and epic imagination as she puts her characters through their paces. Ian and Hannah have a chance at their version of happy ever after and Bernard, well he continues to be like that unseen sliver you can’t get out. Another great read filled with all things funny, deadly and a little creepy, while the sizzling romance is, well, sizzling! I loved it!

MOVE OVER MOONLIGHTING - HACKED IS JACKED !!! Move over MOONLIGHTING... There's a new agency in town! Savage Bytes is the second novella in the Hacked Investigation Series by Sarah Makela and it is AWESOME! She continues to dazzle her readers with her remarkable talent, astounding imagination and unique style. The story is original, exciting, thrilling, riveting, compelling, fascinating, funny, romantic, sweet, arousing and sensual. The dialog is smart, snappy, exceptionally well written and full of really great techno jargon. The characters are fascinating, captivating, imaginative, sexy and sometimes, down right hilarious! Beautiful Private Investigator Hannah Franklin has a new company, a new partner and an almost new boyfriend, and the last two just happen to be one and the same. Sexy Ian Bradley was her ex-almost boyfriend but that was before the two worked together to bring down Ian's former employer, MAX Home Security. Ian is a technomage, and can use and stimulate magic through technology. Ian and Hannah have formed their new agency, Hacked Investigations and specialize mainly in technology related crimes. But when Leon calls asking them to take on an unusual case for St. Gregory's Hospital, they simply couldn't refuse. Sure, the case is a little out of their wheelhouse but Leon had gone above and beyond to help them with their MAX Home Security case so neither has the heart to say no. And they definitely need the money since that darn gnome, Bernard, is still just as hungry and obnoxious as ever! There's a killer on the loose killing test patients with bio-organs which are artificially produced organs. Huh? What the heck? The police seem to have no leads and time is running out. Will Hannah and Ian be able to rescue Leon from the killer and solve the case before it costs them everything including both their lives and Leon's as well? Oh my! So exciting! Beautiful gutsy female P. I.- check! Sexy handsome technomage-check! Cheeky annoying hysterical gnome-check! Murder, suspense, romance and steamy sex-check! Oh yeah! I loved it! I can hardly wait to read Book Three! Fantastic entertainment and an awesome read!

Savage Bytes: book#2 of Hacked Investigation Series by Sarah Hannah Franklin is a now in partnership with Ian and they have formed a new detective company. Sexy Ian Bradley is a technomage, and can use and stimulate magic through technology. Their new agency is called Hacked Investigations and specialize mainly in technology related crimes. But when Leon calls and asks them to take a case for St. Gregory's Hospital, they felt after he help them they couldn't refused even if it isn't their normal case. Because Leon help them with their MAX Home Security case so neither has the heart to say no. Plus Bernard is the reason they need the money since that gnome still is just as hungry and mean as ever! A killer is on the loose killing test patients with bio-organs which are artificially produced organs. The police seem to have no leads and with time running out can Hannah and Ian rescue Leon from the killer and solve the case before it costs them everything? There is something for us all a BBW P I, a sexy handsome technomage, a annoying mean gnome, scorching hot, murder, romance and mystery. Book Three will be Fantastic and I so excited I can't sit still!!!
Hannah Franklin and Ian Bradley are now living together and are partners in a private investigation company, Hacked Investigations. Hacked specializes in technology related crimes, perfect for Ian who is a technomage. When their friend Leon contacts them after the hospital where he works starts receiving mutilated bodies, Hannah and Ian feel there is something "hinky" about the case, but they really can't afford to turn down St. Gregory's so they take the case. It appears the same group of trial patients are turning up dead and mutilated. The investigation leads them on twists and turns galore as they try to figure this one out, and the danger heats up when Leon disappears. Bernard, the nasty little gnome, is no help, all he wants to do is feed his face...oh, and have sex, lots and lots of sex. Bernard is a brilliant addition to the story, keeping it from becoming too bogged down in the gruesome murders and techno-jargon. Fluid and well-written, Savage Bytes is an easy-to-read story involving the reader right up until the end. It could easily be read as a stand-alone. Can't wait for No. 3. (Gifted a copy for independent review)
" Riveting, Suspenseful and funny!" This book is incredible !" The characters are awesome, and the story line is fantastic!. In book one Hannah and Ian meet up again now in book two are partners in their investigation company. They live together now along with Bernard a Gnome lol. Leon who helped them in book one who works for St. Gregory hospital contacts them about helping the hospital with a case. It seems someone has been stealing bio-organs before the hospital can receive them. They take the case. To steal the organs a person must have knowledge on how to care for them. Plus they must hook up to a small computer that requires a surgeon to connect and remove the organs. This makes it sound like an inside job. The hospital are in a rush for them to solve the case.can Hannah and Ian solve the case? What danger will they face doing so?. This book is full of spine-tingling suspense, action and humor do to a cranky , naughty lovable Gnome lol plus there is red hot romance. You must read this book!
So, in this addition to the Hacked Investigations series Ian and Hannah are pretty much together. They seem to have moved on from their past hurts and work together as a team. They're on the hunt for a murderer which leads them to some unsightly places. Hunting a guy that has no problem getting his hands dirty isn't fun or easy for this couple.
There's a few twists and turns in this one that helps to keep the pace going. It's a quick mystery with some magic and technology elements thrown in to keep things interesting. It's a quick read and good if you're looking for something that's not too involved to enjoy. There is some humor and of course romance in the book so it's not all death and investigation, but it is primarily a "who done it".
This is book 2 of this trio of mismatched friends, well at least 2 of them are more then just that, I missed more of that crazy gnome Bernard though...LOL
Ian a Technomage and Hannah a private eye are on the hunt for Leon and come up against what they never imagined! It's all crazy, but someone has to do it in this Tech crazy world.
Meanwhile Bernard the gnome is home getting into all kinds of mischief.
As mangled bodies pile up in the morgue at the hospital, and since there seems to be something ritualistic about it, Ian Bradley and Hannah Franklin are hired to solve the crimes “quietly” when they seem beyond the ability of the police to deal with. This puts Hannah in the path of danger as she is attacked and their apartment gets ransacked. On top of that, their friend Leon goes missing. Is the killer making this personal for some reason? Is someone trying to scare them off? And with all Ian’s energies intensely tuned to the case, what is happening to their relationship that seems to be adversely affected?
This is a tense, suspenseful book with a strong story line that keeps the reader closely following the action at a fast pace. The characters are strong and interesting. Grab your copy and find out why the victims’ blood is drained and organs removed – what is going on? Can they be stopped before the next victim is claimed?
Hannah and Ian are officially partners now and have a new case to solve. Leon contacts them about some very suspicious deaths brought to the hospital where he works. The closer they get to the truth, the more people around them get hurt or killed and even Bernard goes missing. Will they solve the case before it's one or both of them? Great story with great characters and I really enjoyed reading it! I received a backlist copy of this book and am leaving my honest opinion.

This was a fun follow up to book one and I have to say, it was an exciting read. Hannah and Ian have taken on a case of murders that's outside their norm, due to helping a friend, and yeah, the drama, mystery, twists, horror and hot spice had me glued to my reader. This was a wild reading ride that was fast paced, gripping and surprising. Good fun!
Second novella in this series. This was a better read than the first. The story moved along and had mystery and a little intrigue, steam and romance. Still not sold on the gnome. Lol
You’ve let things get between us again. 5 GOLD BYTES
I just don’t want to be hurt again. You have no idea what last time did to me. I think I have an idea. Believe me. Losing you was one of the worst things I’ve been through. WOW! What a MAGNIFIBYTE story! First off, I love that it continues with Hannah and Ian! They are both very interesting characters and ones that I feel for, wanting to know more about them, wanting to get to know them better and BE them for a long, long time! Sarah has created this TECHNOMENAL World with so very many cool tech features that would take a lifetime to discover them all, combined with the chance to experience and live it all through Hannah and Ian's eyes & mind! Well, even Bernard too, to a point! But he is a whole other topic on its own! A gnome like no other! Thankfully! Although he does have his moments... occasionally! LOL While the focus of the case that Hannah and Ian are working on is pretty gruesome and they want - NEED - to solve fairly quickly, the rest of the focus of the story is on them. I liked that because it helped shed some more light on their past, but yet also showed that neither of them want that to happen again. Of course, the murders do have a way of interfering & putting a wave of cold water on them that even Bernard can't!! Again, I love, Love, LOVE how Sarah creates ALL parts of this World in all of its TECHTASTIC glory! The depth to the technological side is mind blowing, but at a level that draws you in, sharing the inner workings with you! Sarah's phenomenal talent brings that part to life, seeing bits & bytes & chip all flowing around the room, enhancing the "tech" side of the story to compete with the human side as to which part I find more enthralling! But the story as a whole is BEYOND BYTERRIFIC! I love, Love, LOVE EVERY SINGLE BYTE OF IT and I CANNOT wait for more!! But don't ever forget - Uncle Bernie ALWAYS wins!
Savage Bytes (Hacked Investigations #2) by Sarah Mäkelä Hacked Investigations has a new partner and Hannah has reunited with her ex which is a good thing because the hospital needs their help with a case that is frankly baffling everyone including the police in this fascinating cyberpunk romance.
Now, they that have a new case, Ian really needs to learn to be able to divide his focus in order to keep their renewed relationship but that won’t be easy with this case because not only is quite a bit from the norm, it is quite disturbing. Lots of passion still burning hot between Ian and Hannah which keeps the pages sizzling, the case provides quite an adrenaline rush and the loud mouthed and demanding gnome is still doing his part to annoy the heck out of everyone, really I don’t know how that gnome is still walking and talking although, I guess he can be a bit amusing, but I think I would have dropped kicked into some deep dark hole if I had to put up with him.
Anyway, enough about the silly gnome, the story had my complete attention with an original case that was full of some interesting twists and I can’t imagine what the next case may be.
Hannah and Ian are on the case again. Hannah is a private investigator and has recently taken on Ian as a partner. Hannah and Ian were recently an ex couple. They have reignited their passion and struggle not to let work get in the way. They also have to dodge Bernard, the wily and rude gnome that lives with them.
Savage Bytes has them tracking down gruesome medical murders. They have been employed to figure out what is happening and keep it quiet from the public. Searching for a murder is not clean and easy business. Hannah and Ian are going to find the trouble and hopefully they can stop it before anyone else gets killed. Ian uses his skills with computers and being a technomage while Hannah listens to her PI gut to try to solve the case.
While investigating, Leon, the hospital contact and a friend goes missing. Now they not only have their safety but Leon’s to worry about. In true old fashioned PI form, they are going to need their wits about them and it never hurts to be packing the heat. Savage Bytes was a fun return to Who Dunit with a magic technology update to the story.

Hannah and Ian are working on another case. Someone is killing people and stealing their bio-organs. Soon it comes to their attention that all the people murdered were patients at the hospital that hired them to find the murderer. Their friend Leon is kidnapped and they are worried that the killer is using Leon as bait. Turns out they are right. After investigating and finding all the patients that were given the bio-organs, only one is a possibility. William Redmoore is the man they are sure is responsible for the murders. Hannah and Ian go into his home and find Leon badly beaten. While they are trying to free Leon, Redmoore walks in the room. Ian has discovered that Redmoore seems to have a somewhat similar but corrupted version of Ian's abilities as a technomage. The three of them are hard pressed to save themselves from the murderer. I loved this book!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
This book continues the great detective adventures of Ian and Hannah
There's a little bit of magic, a little bit of terror, a little mystery, a lot of horror, a dose of steamy, often interrupted romance, and more interaction with the often annoying but somewhat endearing gnome in this second book in the Hacked Investigations series. Mangled bodies are piling up at the hospital morgue and the hospital bigwigs want to discreetly hire Ian and Hannah for their ability to solve unsolvable crimes. The bodies display almost ritualistic cuts - what is the tie between the victims? When Hannah gets mugged, their apartment is ransacked, and then their friend Leon goes missing, is someone trying to send a message? It's hard to put the book down until you finish it because you want to know the answers. I was given a copy for an honest review but I would have purchased it regardless. A great read!
Hannah and Ian are back and this time the are asked by Leon, you meet him in the first book, to look into the deaths of patients that have been mutilated and drained of blood. Ian is a little skeptical in taking the case but since times are a little hard they take it. This story is short but it keeps you guessing on who is doing the killing and why. Hannah is still her usual kick butt and take charge self but she is learning to let Ian take over and so his thing when it needs to be done. Also with Ian sometimes preoccupied with work he is starting to let their relationship slide again, but this time Hannah speaks up and is determined to make sure they still take time out as a couple. And yes our favorite gnome, Bernard is back and is still up to his old tricks. Can't wait to read what this couple is up to next.
I received a copy of this book for a honest review....
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Although not my usual genre of reading, this book/series has captivated my interest. As we follow the escapades of Ian and Hannah, we are drawn into the deep, dark mind of a mad murderer who craves power. Sarah has a wild imagination, of which she also has a wonderful talent of being able to transfer to words, giving us the opportunity to enjoy her exciting, fast paced stories as she sees them. This book is no exception as we are quickly drawn in by the characters and their attempt to solve the mysteries brought to them. Along the way, we are given glimpses of fear, love and Bernie's unrelenting need to watch hot sex. A great series to read, the books are not overly long but just right, with lots of action packed inside. Definitely worth the read.
This series keep getting better and better Ian and Hannah are at it again now together as partners since they opened up there private investigation company Hacked Investigations. We get to see a familiar face in this book Leon who ask them to look into the death of patient that has been mutilated and drained of their blood. Ian isn't too thrilled to take on this case but does it anyway a while on the case to search for the murder their hospital contact Leon goes missing so not only does he have to worry about keeping himself and Hannah alive now they have to worry about there missing friend. And let's not forget about good old Bernard who still up to his antics to work on their nerves. Overall a really good read looking forward to see what's going to happen.
EXCITING AND SEXY!!!!! This book is the continuing story of Ian and Hannah. This is their second case for Hacked Investigations involving the hospital that Leon works at. There are dead people and missing body parts that were bio-organs that the hospital transplanted into 12 people. Now some of these people are showing up dead with the parts removed. Ian also discovers there is someone else who has the same abilities as he does. Very intriguing, sexy, and exciting. The Gnome is a real hoot. Looking forward to the next book. I received this book as a gift for an honest review. Patsy Sacco
This is book 2 in the Hacked Investigations series and I would recommend reading book 1 before starting this one. I enjoyed getting back into Hannah & Ian's world again. This book had a faster pace than book 1 and I had a hard time putting it down to complete other chores. I am greatly looking forward to the next book in the series and hoping to learn more about Ian being a techno-mage and some further information on how he learned to handle his powers and where they originally came from beyond just in his family. I am even looking forward to more from Bernard and hoping he will find a love interest in a future story.
Very exciting plot that keeps you guessing, fun characters to keep you involved in this awesome SyFy! Ian is a technomage (which I personally love the blend of magic and technology), he along with his partner (and love of his life) Hannah run a private investigative service which has taken off after uncovering the deeds of super giant MAX Security (read Techno Crazed book 1 in the series). As a favor to a friend they take on a case of strange murders that ultimately lead them to the most surprising of conclusions! I think I’m going to have tech phobia for months! Great book and I highly recommend it if you like SyFy and romance! **This book received in exchange for an honest review**
This is a quick and suspenseful read. Hannah and Ian are working together on their investigation business and asked to help with a case that is a little different than their usual ones. A hospital has a lot of dead bodies and needs to find out what is going on to cause these strange deaths. They are still working on their relationship too.
It is a good story and makes you eager to discover the answer to the deaths. I enjoyed the characters and seeing them work on their relationship. It is not easy for them to make it work. I look forward to more stories in the series.
So we are back with Hannah, Ian, and if course Bernard the gnome. We also come across another familiar face from the last book, Leon, who is the one who brings them their next big case. Something is going on with the hospitals patitents who have bio-organs. In a race to try to save not only the patients life but their own, they must use everything they have to stop this killer. Things are action packed and of course some hot scenes together. It was a great read and we get to see more of Ian's powers. Loved it!
It is good to see Hannah and Ian still together. Hannah Franklin is a private investigator. Ian and Hannah are hired to work a case of someone killing people and stealing organs. Seems like the killer is always one step ahead of them.
I just love Bernard. He is a gnome. He is truly a handful and always up to mischief. Bernard seems entertained of the murders going around. He is still annoying Ian and Hannah. It is almost funny how he wants to know if they bonking yet? …lol
