Okay, okay...I know...I wrote it. But if I don't love it then why should you? I had a blast writing Kerry and Dante's story and I hope you have as much fun reading it.

BRIEF SUMMARY
Kerry Smith is a famous model; however, she has a special gift that scares her when she comes into physical contact with anyone who touches her. Dante Coltari knows Kerry is his mate and realizes the danger that surrounds her. He needs to get her out of her comfort place that she has built around her in order to show her what she is.

THOUGHTS

Untouched was an unforeseen delight for me and a bit of fresh air. What allowed me to enjoy it was the shifter aspect of different animals to the storyline and the different Amoveo clans. Amoveos are shape shifting animals that lives amongst humans and needs to find their mate while avoiding and unmasking their enemies.

The opening scene and first chapter, which includes Kerry and Dante’s first interaction, sets the pace and chemistry throughout the story for both characters. I really enjoyed seeing their attraction for each other unfolds. Kerry has a special gift that allows her to be psychic with just a touch. I found that to be interesting as she is a world famous model. She has also built a shield around her that hasn’t allowed anyone in expect, Samantha. Dante is an Amoveo and his clan and shifter form is the fox. He knows that Kerry is his mate and knows that she is in danger. He is sent to her next assignment as her bodyguard. How the story was being told and its progress kept my attention. I liked all the components the author uses to convey the story by using telepathy, diverse animal shifters and psychic abilities. Learning about the purist network has my mind curious as a lot was revealed in the end that leaves you anticipating more.

The other characters that gave us a good read were Samantha, Kerry’s best friend and Malcolm, Dante’s best friend from book 1. The other two I really enjoyed and will be looking forward to their stories are, William of the falcon clan and Steven of the coyote clan. I have to admit when I think about William’s story in my head, I think of the movie Ladyhawke.

This was a very enjoyable read with an interest plot and characters. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the prior book in ‘The Amoveo Legend’ but quickly caught on to the events that took place and I still will be reading book 1 in the series.

Summary
Kerry Smithson's career as a model is growing and her reputation has been gaining popularity. But Kerry is hiding a painful secret, she suffers from horrible visions and experiences intense pain when touching other human beings. The only time she hasn't felt pain is with her best friend Samantha. But with recent events surrounding Samantha and her new husband Malcom, Kerry is in danger too. Because of her past and her true identity. So Malcolm's close friend is to be her bodyguard and protection. Dante Coltri is a Amoveo, from the fox clan. Dante also runs a profitable business and is sent to protect Kerry, a woman he knows to be his mate. His job is to protect her and show her what she means to him without scaring her off. But there is an enemy, within their own people, who views Kerry and Samantha as unclean because they are mixed blood and to be destroyed. Kerry and Dante join forces but their enemy is crafty and cunning and might destroy all of them
The Hero
Dante Soltari, has been searching for his mate all of his life. He knows that if he doesn't find her he will die a painful death. He never thought that he would find his mate as a mixed blood but now that he has, he knows he must protect her at all costs. Because some of his people believe in destroying anything that isn't pure blood. But Dante refuses to let anything happen to Kerry.Dante is of the fox clan, and has his own crafty ways of protecting. I grew to love Dante and I had forgotten how much I loved him in the first book "Unleashed". But seeing him as the main hero in this book was refreshing. He could be such an alpha male at times but what a delicious and sexy character he was. I really liked seeing the hidden depths to him. He does take his job to protect Kerry to a new level. He could be domineering and stubborn and liked having his own way. But he also could be tender, sweet and understanding and a good listener. He was the perfect match for Kerry, because he could be patient with her but also firm when it was needed.
The Heroine
Kerry has known since she was a little girl how different she was from everyone. How her parents practically rejected her because of her "gift" although Kerry has always looked at it as a curse more than a gift. It has only brought her pain and the loss of touch or affection except from her closest friend Samantha, because she learns that Samantha is just like her. Most people view Kerry as gorgeous but aloof and cold. An ice queen, but hardly anyone knows that Kerry is the exact opposite. She craves passion and to live a life she dreams of. Without fearing pain and horrible memories or thoughts from others. Kerry is a heroine you can like from the beginning. First off, she isn't stick thin. She has curves but make them work for her in her modeling career. I admire character that use what they have and mold them into a dream and a career like Kerry does for herself. She is driven, independent and willful. But she is a fighting and I loved seeing how she toughs it out with Dante.
Plot and Story Line
In Untouched we have a story that pretty much continues from where we leave off from Unleashed. Now I read Unleashed quite some time ago, but Sara Humphreys touch base with what happened in the first book (so it can be read as a stand alone here) and I realized how much I love this author and the way she has written this world and these Amoveo people. The Amoveo is a large group of shifters, there are many different animal clans here. Our hero is from the fox clan and boy was that neat!! I have never read a shifter romance with a fox so I was intrigued by it for sure. And Dante makes for a sexy fox for sure. What was interesting about this book was the romance here. These two really have to work to get a good balance going in their relationship. I mean, they have some off the charts chemistry. But the intellectual and emotional aspects of their relationship really take some hard work. They both have strong personalities, both are driven and like to have things go their own way. Dante is overprotective (but he has good reasons for it) and Kerry is a bit reckless and spirited. I loved the way that Dante handles her, because it wasn't too overbearing. He knows how real the threat is to Kerry but I do like that he doesn't try to push Kerry into a cave and go all tarzan on her. Now what really impressed me with this book was the villain of the story. The author writes one that is mysterious and cunning and you don't know the true identity until the very end. And I was blown away by the person behind it all. This book had me thrilled, excited, anxious and weak-kneed all at once!!! Another win for this author. I can't wait for book three!!!
The Cover
WHAT a cover...I just love it so much. I love the mix of colors with the hunky male.....yummy!!! Love the pecs, abs and tat!!
Overall View
Untouched is a fiery hot romance that gives the reader a page turner to thrill and excite you from beginning to end!! A romantic stimulant to keep you going all night long.

--SMALL AMOUNT OF SPOIL--

I have absolutely fell in love with this series! It has the perfect combination of romance and suspense. The writing style is exquisite and I adore being able to hear the thoughts of every character (including the bad ones *the punisher*). The author teases you so effortlessly throughout the book with the growing relationship between the two main characters. My favorite thing about this book (and series) is how everything is connected to each other and you slowly start to figure it out. It's absolutely amazing!

Kerry, a model, meets Dante at her friends wedding. Dante knows her as his mate right away. Someone is trying to harm Kerry & Her best friends new husband sends Dante as her bodyguard to her photo shoot in New Orleans. She likes him, but she has a problem. She can't touch people. They all think she's a germaphobe.

I liked this story. It was a new way to describe shifters & the secret life of the puritains etc. Having to keep it a secret from almost everyone & only trusting a select few.

I do want to read the others now. It's one of those "can't get enough of each other" books. I like those.

I really enjoyed Kerry and Dante’s story. I liked Kerry in book one, and at first she annoyed me in this book, but eventually the story unfolded, leaving me well and truly ready to get on to book three and the new series. I’m really enjoying your story telling, Sara.

Kerry has been having nightmares ever since her cousin tortured her to call her best friend Sam, so he could kill her. She feels so guilty for giving in, and she keeps seeing the strange eyes of the man who tried to rescue her. If only she had been brave enough to touch AJ, to see what he was up to. But touching people means visions and unbearable pain for Kerry. The only person she could touch without pain, was Sam. All she would see was a big, grey wolf. When ever her adoptive parents would touch her, she would cry out in pain. And the agony of that, made her life a very lonely life, without any affection from her parents.

Dante is very happy to have finally found his mate, even though she is not a full Amoveo shifter. Which is the reason he could not connect with her on the dream realm, she has such strong mental shields, get could not get through. But now he knows who she is, and proximity will help him. But how will he explain her heritage to Kerry, tell her who and more importantly, what she is? If she was raised as an Amoveo, she would know about the mating bond and gladly accept him. Now he has to woo her first, and gently introduce her to his world. If only they had the time for that, as someone is hunting Kerry …

Samantha and Malcolm are getting married, and Kerry is Sam’s maid of honor, and Dante is Malcolm’s best man. Dante thinks it is easy to get close to Kerry like that, as they are supposed to be dancing together, but Kerry turns him down flat. She doesn’t dance. How can she, if she cannot touch anyone? Still, she is attracted to Dante and keeps looking at him. But she knows the pain she will suffer, if he touches her, so she keeps avoiding him. Until that night, when she dreams of a big red fox. And when Dante arrives at her front door early the next morning, announcing that he is her body guard, hired by Sam and Malcolm, she is furious. But Kerry also knows she has no choice but to let him accompany her to the airport and her next modelling job in New Orleans.

But can Dante keep her safe, when her heritage is no longer a secret and a nutcase called “the Punisher” is after her?

I enjoyed this second book in the series. In the first book, we get to meet the world of the Amoveo, and learn alongside with Samantha about them. Now, Kerry gets told a bit more by Dante and by Sam, which I liked. Sam and Malcolm change their honeymoon plans to be there for Kerry, and then the men are send away for some girl time. Great scene.
I liked Kerry, who has been so very lonely for her whole life, and now there is this stranger she can actually touch. And speak telepathically to. Her life keeps changing, and she even finds out more about her real parents. The danger from the purists is still there, as they don’t know the people amongst them with those rigid beliefs. The Amoveo are dying as a species, if they cannot mate with humans with psychic powers, and their hybrid children.
I liked Dante as well. As soon as he realizes he will be Kerry’s first lover, he takes it slowly, even though the urge to just take her is huge. He needs to fulfil the mating bond in order to survive. But just being with Kerry makes his powers stronger.

I am looking forward to William’s story, he is a Gyrfalcon, and very rigid. I wonder what kind of woman will bring him to his knees.

8 stars.

A review for The Romance Reviews.

UNTOUCHED is one of those books that has me kicking myself for not knowing about this series sooner. Sara Humphreys has created a fantastic world of shape shifters, humans, and the fate that brings them together. I fell in love with these characters as well as this story line and cannot wait to get more from this series.

Kerry is a plus-sized model who is harboring a secret. When she touches people she gets agonizing pain that leaves her incapacitated. Because of this, she's lived in a world isolated from everyone due to what she feels is a curse--until she met Dante.

Dante sees Kerry and knows that she's the woman that he was meant to be with. He's a shifter and part of a race of beings called the Amoveo. These shifters are destined to find their one true mate, and Dante's finally found her. However, she doesn't know what her true nature is. There are dangerous people out there who do know what she is though, so Dante has to convince her of what they are, protect her from the bad people, and get her to love him.

This book was just fantastic. UNTOUCHED is the second book in the Amoveo Legend series, but it can be read as a standalone. It follows the story of the Amoveo shifters and their mates, and the storyline was riveting. The legend of the shifters and the half-human hybrids as well as the people who would like to see the hybrids killed kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen.

The heat between Kerry and Dante was as steamy as it was romantic. I love the idea that because he knows they are fated, Dante doesn't fight the pull between them. Kerry on the other had had a lot to deal with because she spent her whole life thinking she couldn't touch anyone without doubling over in pain. I thought her struggles with the blossoming relationship endeared her to me even more.

Overall, I felt that UNTOUCHED had it all: amazing world-building, a great plot full of suspense and mystery, great characters, and of course a fated romance. I cannot wait to continue with this fantastic series. I feel that this author, Sara Humphreys, really knows what paranormal romance is about!

Kerry has never been able to have a normal relationship with anyone in her life. That's because any touch causes her blinding mental pain and allows her to see the darkest corners inside other people's minds. Her friend Samantha is the only one whose touch she can bear, because --unbeknownst to her-- Samantha isn't completely human. She is a hybrid: a child of one human parent and one Amoveo, a race of shapeshifters. Kerry, too, is a hybrid, though she has no idea that such a thing even exists.

Dante is Kerry's destined mate. He knows exactly who and what she is and wants to help ease her into the truth. Samantha and her husband hire him to be Kerry's bodyguard on a modeling shoot in New Orleans. Not only will it give the two of them a chance to get to know each other, it will keep Kerry safe from the threat of those among the Amoveo who would use violence to keep the race pure.

At first, Kerry rebels against Dante's presence, but she quickly realizes there is something special about him when she can touch him without pain. The story follows their path to one another as an evil Purist stalks Kerry and plans her destruction.

I didn't love the book. I think the biggest reason was because I didn't really connect with any of the characters. I'm not saying it was bad, because it wasn't. It just didn't inspire emotion in me. Perhaps it needed more sexual tension. Or more believable tension of any kind between Kerry and Dante. The tension they did have felt manufactured. Him calling her "princess" --while she called him "Neanderthal"-- felt trite. The love happened superfast. And it all left me feeling rather tepid.

The villain is essentially a caricature, though I will grant that the identity was a surprise. I felt like Kerry's reactions to the revelations about Dante and the Amoveo were understated. And it was all just... meh. Not bad. Just not great.

This is the second book in the Amoveo series and while the events of the first book are referenced, the author does a good job filling in the details and I never felt lost. I think it would be fine for new readers to jump in, even if they haven't read the first book. 3 stars.

Book Two in Humphreys The Amoveo Legend series. Thought I better get myself caught up before Untamed gets here; Especially since luck allowed me to win an ARC (so I can read and review it for Sara).

Humphrey starts us out at Samantha and Malcom's wedding - which is a brilliant move. It only cements the relationship of Unleashed's heroine and hero.

Kerry and Dante's characters were introduced in the first book. So we readers get a glimpse into their person, so we got into the book with a minor understanding of the heroine and hero.

Right off the bat I sympathized with Kerry. Not on her profession but her affliction. The way she suffers from it. And it really impacts home that we really do not know professionals (aka like models and movie stars) true behaviors only what the media shows us.

Observation so far... those Amoveo are PATIENT men. Really like how they take their time wooing their mates and do not have that "I am male you must commit" mentality. Which I hate - sort of why I disliked a different series because the of the men's caveman like attitude.

Makes one seem to envy Sam and Kerry! Poor Kerry though. The shocks she received. And I like how it's believable, that she didn't just swallow the discovery so easily.

Okay... so I am enjoying the banter between side characters William and Pete. Why am I thinking that ol Willie there needs a wild punk girl just to ruffle his image. LOL! You know a good ol Goth Girl..

But alas I have a hunch that he and a certain photographer are destined for one another...

Happy to know my guess with Joseph was concern was correct. The connection thing really clued me in. However Sara threw me for a loop for the villian. Totally did not see that coming.

Over all a great book. More interesting characters introduced.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Untouched, Book 2 in the Amoveo Legend. This picks up right where Unleashed left off. Once again this is a great book of sexy shape-shifters, romance, danger and love. Dante, an Amoveo from the fox clan has met his mate, Kerry Smithson, while protecting his cousin’s mate. Kerry, a model, has no idea about the Amoveo, or who and what she really is. Kerry has lived her entire life avoiding physical contact. If she touches someone, she feels horrible pain and has terrible visions. As an excuse to keep her safe since Kerry was attacked in Unleashed, Dante, who owns a private security firm, accompanies Kerry on a shot as her bodyguard.

Dante is slow and patient trying to get Kerry to trust him on this trip and when she does finally touch Dante, she realizes she doesn’t feel pain or have horrible visions. From there things progress quickly and she learns she is a hybrid, half human and half Amoveo, and Dante’s mate. Sam and Malcolm from Unleashed are featured and it was great to see them again. The romance between Kerry and Dante is sweet and explosive.

There is purist movement in the Amoveo world that wants to extinguish all hybrids. Someone is sending death threats to Kerry and they realize Kerry’s secret is out. From there the hunt begins to catch the killer before he kills Kerry and others. In this story secrets are exposed and some interesting revelations occur. One I didn’t see coming, but makes perfect sense. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next installment. If you love shifter, this is a great series.

Wedding bells are in the air in the second book of the series. Samantha is marrying her man and mate Malcolm. Kerry her best friend is concerned but seems to overall trust Samantha's decision.

Untouched features on Kerry and her psychic abilities. Kerry is a model and can't stand to touch anyone because if she does, she sees visions of them and what has happened or is going to in their lives. She has been alone her entire existence, not having touched anyone but Samantha without feeling pain. The rest of the world thinks she's a Germaphobe but little do they know the truth.

Dante as found his mate in Kerry, she is part of the Amoveo clan, in the cat family, a panther. He has sworn to protect her against these new enemies; The Purists. The Purist believe that the hybrid Amoveo whom are both from Clan and human DNA are stealing mates that rightfully belong to them. They want these hybrids to be killed and dealt with swiftly. Corruption of the Amoveo Clans have been moving swiftly up through the chain of command.

Samantha and Kerry are the first two hybrids that have been found and they, along with their mates Malcolm and Dante will stop at nothing to find The Purists and kill them before they harm another hybrid.

This book to me was a lot more slower and less believable than the first one. Yes most of it made sense but it drives me to distraction to see them just accept everything so easily, at least Samantha in the first book put up a good fight. However this book is a MUST READ in the series, it reveals a lot of valuable information that is needed to know later on.

Untouched
1 Star

Basically a carbon copy of book #1.

The world building is still lacking with no new information provided on the background of the Amoveo race. As mentioned in my review of the previous book, the Amoveo simply have too many abilities, all of which have been done before and none of the characters are unique in any way.

The writing is excessively descriptive and often repetitious while the suspense plot is underdeveloped with a mediocre villain whose motivation is unclear - is it revenge for a perceived rejection or a purist ideology?

The notion that Kerry feels excruciating pain at being touched has tremendous potential both for the plot and the romance. Unfortunately, it contributes nothing to either. Not only is there zero chemistry between the leads, but there is no real basis to their romance other than the fact that they are fated mates.

In terms of characterization, Kerry accepts every new piece of unusual information without question, which makes her appear naive and gullible. Dante might be sexy but other than that has nothing going for him. His possessive alpha act is not believable and he does not live up to the animal traits implied by his alternate form - surely a fox is cunning enough to stay out of obvious traps?

All in all, weak world building, a lackluster romance and an inadequate suspense plot. I’m simply not interested enough in the world or the characters to continue with the series.

Another AWESOME installment from Sara Humphreys.

This was an amazing story.

Sara Humphreys has a unique writing talent, she makes you feel everything the character is feeling with such conviction.

What a story my favorite so far.

I have to say Dante is an amazing character such strength and respect and the flirtatious banter he has with Kerry is hilarious. You sit there grinning while reading the pages like your apart of the story itself. I absolutely loved Kerry as a character a real woman with meat on her bones and fire in her heart an admirable character and together they are fire and candy.

I loved that the characters from the first book made an appearance and that it followed on from the last book it's like getting the next season of your favorite show.

This is one of those stories you will go back to and re-read again.

Sara Humphreys breathes such life into her work! The story flows beautifully you get action and love and humour the complete mix that you know should be in every story and a little twist here and there to keep you even more on the edge of your seat, biting your nails for what's next.

I absolutely love William and I believe the next installment is his, I am so looking forward to it, I can just imagine the trouble he is going to get into.

Sarah you have made me a fan for life!!!!!

In love with this Series!!!

I definitely recommend this book. It's best to start with book 1. If you love a series where you can fall into a sharpshifter world with a believable story line, excellent characters, strong Heroines, Sexy Male Shapeshifters, laughter, drama, action and steamy bedroom scenes......well this covers it all.

My overall enjoyment of this book was marred by a reviewer here on Goodreads who thought it was okay to reveal who The Punisher was and what happened to other key figures in the story in the first few sentences of her review. I was so disappointed after reading this that it had a major affect on my enjoyment of this book. One of the things I loved most about Unleashed was I was taken by surprised when all was revealed. I read obsessively to the end just to learn who the evil one was. I lost the chance to experience this after reading the review.

Okay, I've got that off my chest! Untouched is a well written book - it was impossible not to fall in love with Dante. The relationship between Kerry & Dante grew at a believable pace and felt real. Catching up with Samantha and Malcolm was a bonus and I enjoyed the banter between Peter and William. Ms Humphreys certainly knows how to write evil characters. The 'evil one' in this book drew so many emotions from me in the final scenes of the book. He/she was certainly one sick person.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next book very soon.

Review coming soon on GraveTells! I'll post the full review here a few weeks after that.

This second story in the Amoveo Legend (wasn't it "Legacy" before?) is even better than the first. I loved Dante in Untouched and I also really liked Kerry - those two nearly stole the show from Sam and Malcolm in their own novel, and that was before they knew each other!

Untouched is as sensitive and instantly likeable as Kerry, and as fierce and intuitive as Dante. It draws the reader in, moving along quickly with some characters you seem to keep wanting more and more of, and some characters you just can't quite figure out. The plot is an extension of the Purist-Hybrid conflict of Untouched, but expands on that and lays down a solid foundation for expanding further into the series. Ms. Humphreys also drops new clues and information about the lore and world of the Amoveo, and ties up the ending nicely while also leaving herself plenty of room to play.

Poor Steven. Something tells me his story is next, and he's not going to be a happy coyote when we see him again. *grin*

Currently on book 1 so I can read them in order. Review to come. Can't wait to get to it!

4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed this one, even more so than the first. The flow was really nice. It was good from page 1. I really enjoyed the characters, and even LIKED the heroine! Unheard of for me! Dante was studly and plenty drool worthy. Anyway, the romance and the plot unfolded at a nice pace and complimented each other very well. The end was really gripping and

*SPOILER SENTENCE*

I liked the twist on how it took a human to save the day in the end. Or at least play a role in it, as if showing how when humans and Amoveo work together things turn out in the end.

*END SPOILER SENTENCE*

I loved Pete and William's banter and I am so happy the next book is Williams. Can't wait to read it!

Take a fox shifter bodyguarding a hybrid panther shifter who doesn't know about her ability to shift, add psychic powers by touch to the heroine's talents and make them painful when she touches someone. What could go wrong? Oh yeah, add a group that wants them dead and set it in the swamps around New Orleans with some black magic. The fox and the panther have a happy ending, but it is a riveting read on the path leading to their falling in love.

Maybe it's because I'm ADHD, but I never get bored when reading Sara Humphrey's novels. I suspect the fact she uses vivid imagery and plenty of action helps. The finishing touch is her steamy sex scenes that are written so well, you are right there. I loved this book even though I'm reading them out of order. Each book is a well-plotted story on it's own.

I really liked this book! Even though it was the second in a series, I never felt lost or left out in what was going on. It also didn’t lessen my desire to read the first and the next books in the Amoveo series!

Untouched is a Fated Mate, Shifter novel for adults. The story is about Kerry and Dante and their fight against the Purist. In the Amoveo world there are two kinds of shifters – the ones who believe their mates can only be a pure Amoveo and those who are open to finding their mate no matter who they are. That said they still only mate with who the fates have mated them with.

I am giving Untouched 4 ½ stars.

I adored Untouched, it was so endearing. I loved the storyline and the oh so tender romantic caresses with plenty of kick-butt, take no prisoners toughness that makes for a wonderful fast paced paranormal page-turner. I plan to go back to the beginning of the series today.
Thanks, Ms. Humphreys for a captivating page-turner that left an indelible imprint on my heart.
I devoured the first in this series, and did the same with this one! It didn't fail to suck me in to the story. I follow the author on Facebook, and she interacts with her fans, and keeps us up to date on the whole process. I am hanging for Layla and Williams story.

An edge-of-your-seat read!

This was a spectacular addition to the Amoveo series.
Full of exciting characters and fantastic adventure into
The Amoveo clans and their life styles. This was a riveting
story line and another page-turner. Just couldn't stop
reading as the adventure built page after page. Highly
recommend this series!!!
