Fruitarianism: The Path to Paradise

Rate this book
The author brings our attention to fruits high in calcium, like figs and oranges, as well as those high in iron like prunes, watermelons, dates, raisins and apricots. She recognizes that a fruit diet may be low in minerals unless it consists of top quality, wild, organic fruits and berries. In these situations she says that the solution is either to improve the quality of the fruit or to add good quality green vegetables to the diet. Green vegetables can have a role in healing and well being and she says that if you are attracted to them in their natural state, without salad dressing they are most likely a beneficial and she also recommends avocados as a transitional food as well as for those who are underweight. Osborne recommends only organic seeds because otherwise they are probably toxic to the human body. Fruitarianism includes chapters on raising fruitarian children, cleansing, juice fasting and sunlight as well as entire chapters devoted to many individual fruits.

I was born in 1966 in the Midlands town of Leicester.
As a teenager, I developed an interested in Animal Rights, vegetarianism, and veganism.
In 1986, I adopted a vegan diet, purely for ethical reasons, and I was amazed at the immediate improvement in my health upon changing my diet.
This set me off on a journey to examine the relationship between what we eat and drink, and how we feel.
I tried several types of vegan diet over the next few years, then in 1990 I attended a talk in my home town of Leicester on Fruitarianism by local lad David Shelley.
Shelley had written a book on the Fruit Diet, and he was also a great advert for the diet with his glowing skin and boundless energy.
I wanted to try the Fruit Diet, and so I transitioned to the diet over the next year or so.
The Fruit Diet and I have stuck together ever since.
I have raised two very healthy and happy children on the Fruitarian Diet.
In 2009, my book, 'Fruitarianism The Path To Paradise was published.
Then in 2011, my book was published in Italian under the title,'Fruttarismo, la via verso il Paradiso'.

I currently live on the Sunshine Coast in Australia with my younger son and our Oriental cat.
I continue to be interested in fruit and the role it plays in human health and happiness.

Oh my, what did I think??? I thought it was one of the freshest, loveliest book about health and diet and fruits I have ever read! Loved, no, I LOVED! the illustrations and the personal anecdotes that Anne shares with us. Because I had to move and sell my books a few times this past 2 years, I don't have the book anymore. I wish it was available as a kindle or other ebook format. Then I could read it a few more times.
I highly recommend this book to all who love and really would like to learn to appreciate fruits.
It is also a candid glimpse into the life of a true fruitarian, which I enjoyed a lot.
Thank you Anne for a gift to us all!

A semi-memoir with dietary advice and profiles on many different luscious fruits, this is a lovely read about the world of a 17-year fruitarian Anne Osborne.

I do not have words to describe how great this book is.

I confess I was expecting the author to just give us a glimpse about her experience doing fruit fasts and also how it have been to be fruitarian for over 17 years but wow. Anne really exceeded all my expectations. The book even mention chakras, fruit nutritional information, the benefits of mono meals (I really get convinced that this is the proper and perfect diet for human beings). She also describes the experience of being fruitarian on a holist approach, that is what got me, again. Some important books/authors are mentioned about the topic so it is a whole plate full of information. I trully loved reading the book, also the fruit ilustrations are so cute. Thank you so much for such great work, Anne Osborne <3

PS: It is a pity I had to read the pdf version but I look foward to get the paperback version when it is possible!

This book is an amazing advertisement of a fruit diet. Most of the things I read here I already know or heard before, but still, it was written in a beautiful way, so it helped me again to strengthen my belief in this diet.

This book is a blessing for someone who knows nothing about this diet as it explains all the basics of the diet. At the same time, it is a beautiful reminder for those who fall in love with fruits already.

May more people find out about this diet, about the food of Gods.

Great book! The quotes section at the end is especially useful in highlighting key takeaways for me.
