Odilon and Carmilla love sucking up the ink in books with their twin straw. Especially the ink in adventure stories! But as they begin one of their favorite tales, it’s the straw that sucks them in–and plops them right into the story. . . .
The final and fourth installment of the Ink Drinker series. I am rather sad to see it end, just when the fourth book introduces a new wacky idea; Ink Drinkers can be sucked into books by the characters! I love this idea, so much could be done with it! I enjoyed these odd, little, translated, French books over the past week. I will be adding at least the first one to my October Youth book display.
I like the idea of this so much. but I feel there must be translation issues. or something. there is no flow. dialogue is so stilted. there's just nothing there beyond a clever concept.
Really cute idea, but I wish there was more meat to this book. I didn't like the Deus-ex-machina ending, but hey - it's a kids book. Again, the books are too short to do them justice. There are so many wonderful tings that could fill out this book a bit and make it more enjoyable...instead, it's more of a super-quick overview of a story.
