After reading the first book, I couldn’t wait to read the second. And the detailed cover is so beautiful! is mind blowing I was so excited to be able to read it, especially before the publication date. I appreciate the fact that Noble had gone so far as to dedicate her book to her fans and donating proceeds to the Encourage Literacy Foundation, which is very Noble if I do say so myself. I was hooked right from the first page. I finished it within only a few days and so many of my questions from the first book were answered. This is a continuation of the journeys and challenges faced by Hale and the other characters. You will be on the edge of your seat the WHOLE time. Hale truly shines in this novel. His inner conflict as he learns about who he is was so touching, especially when we learned what had truly happened to him in the past. The Vyrtrusk, an extremely original creature, was so wonderfully haunting to read about. I found their mystical abilities to be very interesting. We also come to a new area of land called Emsequet, which is unlike any other land I’ve ever read about. It has mystical creatures called Weylings. They are an intelligent animalistic species that are chilling to the bone and I loved their original way of speaking. The way the author excels in her descriptive writing is truly impeccable. It makes me feel as if I jumped in the book and am experiencing everything along with the characters, all of whom have stolen my heart… except Deor! Bayo is my all time favorite villain. The way that Noble justifies his actions, makes us root for him as well. I never truly know what side I’m on. As the book continues I find my previous thoughts constantly being contradicted. The dialogue between the characters, especially the ones with strong relationships, really spoke to me. And yes!! We do get romance in this book, PG rated 😉. I found Garet and Palla’s thought process towards each other to be very sweet. I enjoyed their love story. I have to say Palla, the spirit guide of the Arketcha tribe, whose life mission is to eternally help her people, has become my favorite character in the Hale series. Her strength after all that she’s gone through is truly inspiring. She is a genuinely good person who always does the right thing, which is refreshing to find in the YA fantasy genre. Can’t wait for the third book! Again I deem this a 5/5 star book for all these reasons. And as always, Noble wrote a clean book with no profanity or sex, only tons of action, which I love! Recommend to all true fans of fantasy.

Hale: The Prophet’s Journal” by JK Noble is the smashing follow-up to the author’s first well-reviewed YA fantasy novel, “Hale: The Rise of the Griffins.” In this sequel, we find Hale on a search for redemption, accompanied by Evan and River. They encounter the dangerous Extraordinary Division, and Hale now knows he is powerful and magical. He discovered things about himself that were once secret, like the real connection he has to the King of the Griffins, Bayo, who is also his mentor. Hale has talents beyond the natural, and carries them with him to his new calling, following the Elder Prophet’s journal. He would like to know if he will be the fulfillment of the dark prophecy, but it’s also a matter of survival. Could he really be the foretold world annihilator?

If you have been waiting for more Hale and company, you will be richly rewarded with this sequel. Here you’ll find some of the same characters caught up in even more intriguing circumstances. The plot just thickens as it goes along, unfolding in the same lyrical style, introducing us to more magic, spirit guides, prophets, and deadly creatures. I

n the first book, Hale was sorely tested. Now, he is propelled by secrets and his search for salvation. The map provided at the front of the book is a big help and thoughtful addition. One of my favorite things about the beginning of the story is the first-person prologue by the character Felix, for the way his thoughts set the stage. You will also find adventure and romance here, and the same attention to high-caliber worldbuilding, character development, and plot execution that you have come to expect with this author.

Noble doesn’t disappoint, but that’s an understatement. Some sequels don’t seem to measure up to the original, but that can’t be said for this one. Besides the great story, you will find personal themes here you can relate to, like responsibility and sacrifice, and broader, more universal themes like redemption and forgiveness. Survival is a key theme played out through the characters, their situations, and choices. You will definitely find yourself wondering what you would do in the characters’ shoes. Subjects such as self-harm and tumultuous family relations are also here in the story, with an ending that is haunting. If you love YA fantasy with heroic, human characters, and mythical creatures, you will fall in love with “Hale: The Prophet’s Journal” by JK Noble.

We continue on the journey of righting wrongs with Hale, River and Evan. When we last left off in the Rise of the Griffins, Hale and his friends had just escaped Bayo's clutches of the Griffin Clan compound. They are now trying to get Hale through the Extraordinary Division to help him find his path of redemption. Through their journey they find strength within themselves and their friendships. The description of the scenes are done quite well. I can see myself amongst the characters hitching an invisible ride as they move threw their journey. The dynamics of the characters is great. The interactions between them are so realistic. No gum drops and rainbows all the way here! I look forward to continuing on with them in their journey as they try to help Hale change what is prophesied—him being the destroyer of worlds.

OMG! I didn't think I could've been more excited about reading the 2nd book in the Hale series. And my excitement wasn't doused. Hale, the Griffin clans, love, hate, magic, power! Non stop from the first book and no time jumps, book 2 picked up right where book 1 ended and you can even read back on things in case you took a minute in between books. Point flat! The Hale series is one of the best book series since the potter series, hands down. JK is one of the best writers of fantasy and I'm more than looking forward for the 3rd book. I suggest you get it, emerse yourself in the world of Hale and I guarantee you'll never want to stop reading.

In Hale: The Prophets Journal, the second book of J.K. Nobles’ riveting fantasy series, readers find the newly emerged griffin Hale, just barely evading the grasp of his mentor Bayo, as the shadow of death persistently trails behind him. Alongside his pack brothers, River and Evan, the trio embarks on a perilous journey filled with uncertainty and daunting odds, seeking both solace and tranquility. Guided only by the wisdom within Felix’s journal and often mired by the internal discord between River and Evan, they must navigate a world where they are not the only forces at play.

The narrative unfolds directly after the events of “Hale: The Rise of the Griffins” and plunges readers into a realm teeming with mythical beasts, enchanting magic, and enigmatic monsters. This world, accessible and captivating to readers of all ages, provides a thrilling backdrop for the characters’ struggles with the consequences of their prior choices.

Nobles’ writing is engaging, and her characters are genuinely intriguing. The novel offers readers a fun and well-crafted ride through the various perspectives, allowing a unique view into the character’s thoughts and feelings. However, this multiplicity of viewpoints occasionally detracts from the overall cohesiveness, at times making it challenging to keep track of the intricate plotlines and complex relationships.

J.K. Noble has cemented herself as a must-read author for high-fantasy enthusiasts, crafting a world that resonates with vibrancy and intrigue. The enthralling narrative and well-etched characters create an experience that keeps readers firmly gripped, eagerly awaiting the moment when all pieces fall into place. Although I feel there is an occasional overload of detail, the world’s richness and the storytelling’s depth more than compensate.

Hale: The Prophets Journal leaves readers yearning for what Noble has next in store for both Hale and the reader. It’s a worthwhile journey for those who wish to lose themselves in a world of fantastical wonder and engaging storytelling.
