I purchased this book after seeing one of the bras on a IG. I stopped purchasing Maddie's patterns a while ago because I learned the hard way that she doesn't make bra patterns for girls over D cup but she is working on creating patterns that are more size inclusive. After triple confirming that the patterns in the book covered my size (34G) I purchased the paperback. I like the designs, the book is aesthetically pleasing and it includes 3 bra and 3 panty patterns (and I believe a bodysuit.) Unfortunately, the other issue I've found with her patterns is the instructions aren't super clear, and possibly even worse than usual in this book. I've made quite a few bras and panties so I was able to figure out what wasn't in the instructions but dammit fabric is EXPENSIVE. Especially from her website, which I'm addicted to shopping on, so I don't want to have to figure out what the steps are when I'm sewing a pattern for the first time. Other than that the rest of content in the book wasn't anything I've read for free on the internet nor was it all that interesting. I would've given 4 stars because the price for 7 patterns is great, but even having a moderate amount of experience making bras I still struggled with some of the instructions and there wasn't any new or interesting content beyond that.
Excellent beginner guide to bramaking and panty making. This book defines all the terms, includes clear instructions, and encourages makers of all shapes and sizes. Full-size patterns are available for download. Photos are clear, tasteful and instructive.
I have made up my mind that I want to learn to sew bras. It’s so hard to find what I want in a bra, but what I want seems like it’s probably pretty simple to make, so I’m going to give it a go! I feel like this was helpful!
