"Jack Marriott thought he knew everything there was to know about the storied band from Liverpool, England, until he discovered that there were Beatles monuments, statues, and shrines all around the world. When his life in England deteriorated into drunkenness and distress, he decided to embark on a two-year quest to find these Beatles monuments and connect with the communities that built them"--
A unique approach to writing about the Beatles. From an international perspective, meaning you are bound to learn something new since most of these stories are not included in the traditional UK/US-based Beatle books. With memorable characters, some larger than life, some down to earth, and Marriott's deadpan narration, the book bursts with unforced humour, causing me to laugh with every new page. Kind of like an adventure novel too, with plenty of hair raising moments and surprises around the corner. Overall very engaging.
