No clothes. No memories. Dangerous monsters all around. I woke up with four beautiful women in a post apocalyptic world where nothing is as it should be. We have no idea what happened, and there isn’t anyone around to ask. So what do we do? We fight the monsters. We forage for food, water, and shelter. We make our lives as enjoyable as we can.
Should I admit I was drawn in by the cover? I'm a sucker, what can I say? It's too bad the story lost me along the way. I made it nearly halfway . . . okay, at least two-fifths. And I realized I was still waiting for the story to start. I guess there's only so long I can wonder what happened to the world and what our people were going to do to survive without getting any answers before I stop caring any more.
I mean, there were some answers. Just not any that I found useful or satisfying. Plus, one of the women was kind of a whiner and she had too much sympathy from the others for me to invest in them as a group. They have monsters and destruction and a severe lack of resources; breaking down all the time while everyone else gets things done is a bit indulgent.
I don't remember why I thought this would be GameLit/LitRPG but it isn't and that didn't help my disappointment any, either. That disconnect is almost enough for me not to rate the story as my expectations were wrong for no fault in the book. But I decided that going so long without key answers I really wanted is enough to go ahead with the one star. Going past a quarter of the story without having a sense of the core setting is too long in any story, I think.
Thank you this was a real treat. I was highly surprised when I found this book I didn't know whether or not it would be good... Or if it would be bad in slow but I was pleasantly surprised and it turned out to be even better than I thought. I hope this author writes a sequel to the story this was really good and I'm looking forward to the next book. For starters let me just say that all the women are different they have the wrong personality and I really enjoyed.... How the author wrote out each of their personalities and made them distinctly different. The main character was not overpowered either. He couldn't just wait in and win with no struggle he had to fight to survive just like the women I had to fight to protect them.

Post-apocalyptic stories are all the rage in haremlit these days, and “Foragers” is a very entertaining and enjoyable addition to this trope! And yes, that’s the same sentence I used for another recent review; post-apoc really is a popular trope!
As is usual, our MC (nicknamed “Zeus” by one of four women who awake in a lab with him, due to his godlike body!) awakes with little memory of who he is, with a body with enhanced strength and healing abilities.
Clues and vague memories lead the MC’s to believe they were volunteers in an experiment, but that external disasters (solar flares, a plague, and monster mutation caused by the virus against the plague) impacted the experiment. Awake now six years later, they find they must survive the monsters (breeding is optional), and if not descend, they must at least ascend apartment complexes to forage, and survive win a world without law. And yep, that’s three clues in one sentence about three different terrific haremlit series that this story reminded me of very much!
The four women each have distinct personalities, and mutual yet individual levels of desire to act on their attractions to Zeus, and to each other! While memories have been lost, everyone has vague awarenesses of likes and dislikes, for everything to how they like their coffee, liking beer vs. wine, and liking sex with multiple participants or with others watching!
Monsters come in many forms; mutated dogs, bats and even a t-rex style lizard….and monstrous human men who want the four women. Narration is terrific, and I look forward to another episode of “Foragers”!
4 people are waked from cryo sleep to be aware of their world has collapsed .
4 people are awaked from cryo sleep with alarms blaring first one awake is a male confused an no memory seeking an monster eating a corpse just across the room from him . He knows he must kill the monster to keep it from attacking him also so checks out his surroundings an spots and firemans axe inside glass case he covered in some type of liquid goo he over his body as he steps out another cryo pod seal breaks and an female awakens stirring making noise not aware of her surroundings yet . It draws the monster attentions so he carefully breaks the glass an grabs the axe to defend himself and the female from being an monster meal . recommend reading excellent book .
It was a good start. I enjoyed the world, but very little was revealed, same with the characters. Some logic in the plot was a bit of a struggle to understand. However, overall this was a good solid start to the series and was quick and fun. Needs work as the character development in the dialogue could be more engaging. You want a root for the main characters but the book just really didn't give you enough to make a difference on how you felt about them. Still, a simple easy read that was fun.
Monsters and bad guys, always the same in a post apocalypse story. Except that in this story, the monsters are a whole lot better though through and the bad guys are even more stupid than I can believe. I wish it was longer, so I didn't have to wait for the return to the lab. There they should find some answers and where the tech's lived. Get to work on the next installment.
Alternate universe, post apocalypse, nanotech, harem adult situations
A man and four women awaken from cryo-sleep to a shattered world filled with monsters, mutants, and rapacious looters, and no memory of how what happened before they awoke. Fast paced action. Good start, but a lot of unanswered questions, and needs more character development. Would be interested in a sequel.
I hate when a Brit tries to write stories that contain firearms. They obviously have no clue how they operate nor the physics behind them. The rest of this story could have been at least a two star story if the MC could keep his mind off his duck for more than 2 seconds at a time.
An interesting beginning to what promises to be a different perspective. Interesting character development but a consistent male leader. I’d like to see development of the female characters in leadership roles.
Overall fun read. Definitely enjoyed the story and just on overall very well written book. Definitely interested to see what happens next with thus group. And will take a look a other stories from this author.
A very fast paced story with some excellent world building!!!! A very nice blend of science fiction, fantasy and a believable apocalypse all in an enjoyable reading experience!!! I can't wait to see what comes next for thus series!!!
I very much enjoyed the characters, their relationships and the overall story. The world was interesting with a bit of mystery surrounding what happened. I look forward to seeing where all this goes.
If you like war similar action this fits the bill. A fight for survival from monsters and renegades. A physically enhanced man and 4 women who are looking for an explanation of why they are alive and what was their purpose/mission. Well worth reading!
I write this review as a fan of erotic appoctalytic fantasy and this is a Damn good beginning which I hope you follow up on. Keep on writing so I can keep up reading and thanks for tickle to my brain.
This book introduced an interesting concept of how nano influenced people would do after the apocalypse. Conveniently there are more women than men in the group so the adventure is also spicy. Need the books to be a little longer but keep up the good work!
Story was alright, but the writing was pretty pedestrian. Author needs to up his game. Also, the character Sparkles was pretty annoying af, i would have left her behind for sure. Probably after the first time she started shouting out getting the monsters attention, definitely the second time.
I really enjoyed this take on a post-apocalyptic story. I like reading about the MC and supporting staff. Can’t wait to see where this goes and who joins in the fun.
