DNF; I just had enough of the insta-love and the horrible way the Flora treated her family. Just...no. I hope to the gods there isn't a real person out there like her.

I downloaded this as a free eBook so I wasn't exactly expecting much, and to be honest what I got wasn't anything special.
Basically, flora has to go with her family on a camping holiday instead of staying in Europe with her friends. This is because of the mysterious 'Beer Incident', which we are led to believe is something really bad, but actually turns out it was just her getting the blame for one of her mates smuggling beer into a party.
Once at the campsite she falls for a 'sexy gypsy guy'. The next day he asks her out, and within an hour they're saying 'I love you' to one another. I found this a little weird, I mean it's a bit sudden, is it not?
Despite the slight disappointments and weird situations, this was an enjoyable and light read, and would recommend to anyone who's run out of books to read. After all, it's free, so you won't feel ripped off if you don't enjoy it!

I could put this under my blew me away shelf, but that's because I was blown away by how bad this book is. I could put this book under my makes me cry shelf too, but I would be crying from the torture that is reading this book instead of tears of contentment.

Flora is the worst character have ever read about and I could not stand being in her head for the book. She is, no offense, a major bitch who only thinks about herself and never shows one morsel of respect or kindness to her family. For a person like this to play a 'normal' teenage girl is atrocious and horrifying. As a teenage girl, I do admit I have my times where I am a bad person. However, I'd like to think that I am relatively good. In my family, disrespect is the one thing that cannot be tolerated and helping people and at least being respectful is second nature. Considering Flora couldn't do either of those two things is astounding in the worst possible way. It is sad to see an age group portrayed on such a biased level so horrendously.

Not only was I disappointed, I was saddened that some readers might think of Flora as a believable person, as a person who could be REAL.

Please, I just want authors to stop over using the word 'love' It felt fake, and there was hardly any sense to it. I'm pretty sure the author was trying to play on the whole 'love a first sight cliché'. Instead I found myself saying "Woah, slow down girl, you only just met him a day ago." Grrrrr!

Anyway, I might as well add some positive feedback because I liked the whole camping idea, that was cool...

The most unrealistic piece of rubbish I have ever read. I downloaded it as a free book on my Kindle so I wasn't really expecting much.

Admittedly, I found the letter that Mick sent to her was cute at the end, but it really was absolutely shit overall.

If a thirteen-year old girl was chosen by Disney Channel to write the script of a new original series for them, this book would be it.

This is perhaps the single worst piece of writing I have ever come across in my entire lifetime. There are so many issues with this book, I hardly know where to start. Thank God this book was free on Amazon, because if I had to spend so much as one cent for this piece of crap, I would have raised hell.

The biggest problem in this book (which would actually be all of it, but bear with me here) is the main character, Flora. Flora is basically everything and anything you could ever hate in a human being. Good thing she is only fictional - or so one could only hope! Flora is overly dramatic to the extreme, and I'm not even joking. Oh, no, a camping trip?! My parents must hate me! What do you mean I have to take a couple of weeks off from my already uneventful, three-month summer vacation to spend time with my parents and brother?! I'd rather be eaten alive by worms! Wait, quality family time?! I THINK GOD HATES ME! I don't think there was a single page in this book where I didn't want to strangle this girl. She's an overdramatic, spoiled, stuck up little brat that is somehow truly convinced that the every single inch of the entirety of the universe is out to get her and that this camping trip could possibly be worse than being burned alive. Boo-hoo-hoo, grow up, you shit.

Another big problem is the romance. So here we have Sucky-Life Flora in her own personal hell, aka a mere camping trip with her a family, but wait! What's that?! Mr. Prince Charming happens to be there too? Say whaaaaat!? What are the odds! Anyway, Flora is convinced that this guy she's only talked to about three times is the man that the universe (who hates her, by the way) has magically thrown her way. Can you say naive much? Or just plain stupidity? It's hard to tell. Mr. Prince Charming, aka Mick, falls for her, and vice versa. (Wow, I didn't see that one coming. Good writing, Maggie Bloom!) And the second day of knowing each other, they're already a couple! And get this, the L-word is tossed around a few times. like i've totes known u for liek two days but omg u r my world and I can't live or breathe w/out u lolol ilu so much ok flora n mick 5eva <3 <3 <3 I don't even

All in all, this book sucks. The writing style is nothing special in the slightest. The main character is anything but likeable, and the story is anything but believable, if likeable in any way. How did this even get published? Why do people even like it? This is the epitome of terrible. My nine-year-old self could have written something better!

If you're looking for a good story with cute romance and that is normal-paced, guess what. Keep looking. There's none of that in this crapsack.

I'm a bit on the fence with this one. When you get right down to it, it was enjoyable for the first few chapters. There were things that annoyed me which I chalked up to teenage hormones. I remember being that age and so while I understood, to a point.

First, the insta love. Or, in this case, I'd call it puppy love because Flora has just turned 16. And no matter what anyone says, we've all at some point met someone at that age that we thought was the love of our lives. Flora has known Mick for all of a few hours when she slips up with the I love you. She slips up, but she meant it. This is the point in books where it all goes down hill for me. Insta love is too easy. There is no need to get to know someone. I understand insta lust. Come on! Chris Hemsworth, anyone?! But insta love, to me, is a deal breaker. Flora sees this incredibly beautiful guy and that's all it takes for her to fall in love. That is not real love. I feel like, as a reader, I miss out when the author skips over the whole getting to know each other stage and jumps right into the make out part.

Second, the story was awfully short. When I hit the last page, I thought that when downloaded to my kindle that half the book got lost in the mystical place between amazon and my device. But no, the ending was pretty abrupt.

For the most part, I enjoyed it right up until Flora is forced to go home early from camp. This part of the story didn't fit. Besides staying out until late morning, I can't imagine when the cousins were thinking when they decided to carry out this plan of there. I spent more time here rolling my eyes than reading.

I'm glad this was free, as I don't think I would have paid money to read this. At least for the second half.

This book just made me go REALLY?! SERIOUSLY?! pretty much after the first few pages. At first I thought it was cute, and I could relate to the main character and her hate of camping, but then it started turning from cute to LAME. The sheer unbelievability of this book is simply unbelievable (yes, pun is intended).

The main character (whatever her name is, I don't even want to look it up) is such a little B***** to her parents and brother, that I can't even excuse her teenage years for it. She deserves every grounding, store-bought cake and anything else her parents throw her way. Her love story with Mick was the most unbelievable, considering how fast it progressed. I really don't think that there are teens out there who are stupid enough to start proclaiming their undying love within hours of meeting someone, regardless of how attracted they are to each other. That alone was an insult to all the teens out there.

Then her "kidnapping"... which was supposed to be "destiny's screw up" I guess, was pretty unbelievable and stupid too. Yeah, I wasn't impressed with Flora's actions at all at this point, especially her not wanting to confess against the two idiots who "kidnapped" her. Why not? She was kidnapped AND she is a juvenile, so (they admitted it themselves) the worst that would happen to her is a citation.

So year, this booked sucked big time and I will stay as far away as possible from the sequel.

Not very good..

Not very good..

it's pretty awful, unless you're a preteen girl. had to force myself to finish, spoilers ahead, it's about a fifteen/sixteen year-old girl who is so "in love" with a guy after knowing him for a total of 2 days and surprise surprise, it doesn't work out and she is heart broken forever....

this was so stupid please guys do not read it. spoilers ahead by the way. she literally fell in love the first time she met the guy, and said i love you to him the third or second day after they met i don't remember. this is so stupid and not real. at least i would have them make this book a bit longer in the time span that they "fell in love with each other"

The start of this book was absolutely brilliant. It grabbed my attention immediately, but after a few pages is rapidly went downhill. I thought it was unrealistic, a complete drag and gets rather irritating.

As you can tell, I was very disappointed. At least until the twist in the story (Don't worry, I won't spoil it for you). This twist was very helpful to this book, as it helped me back into the book rather than throw it across the room.

Although there was several good points and a lot of bad, all I can do is say that this book just didn't cut it for me. If the part between the start and the twist was good, I'd tell you this was amazing, but I can't.

I wish this book was as good as I'd hoped, though if you did like this book, the next one (going by chapter 1) seems really good.

Not the worst book I've read, but I don't find it that appealing. I'm imagining that I'm about two generations older than the targeted audience, but I really can't imagine many die-hard teen readers liking this that much. (And I've worked with young adult readers over the years... and I was one, once)

It's just too... Flora is whiny throughout much of the book, other than when she's with the boy she's deeeepppply in love with, after basically just seeing each other once. I mean, this novel makes Twilight seem like classic literature.

And as an "older" adult, I'd like to see something that has some qualities you would like to see lauded as "good". Her parents seem caring, but she complains about that, even (yeh, don't even give me that argument... I was a teenaged girl once who wasn't always fair to my parents and I knew that they were actually the parents I wanted.)

Have at it, if it appeals to you; that's what reading is. An individual choice. I just won't be following the next "adventure" of Flora. (I did like the bit about her father being "Vic Fontaine (without the "e"). If you don't get it, don't worry about it)Any Red-Blooded Girl

To be completely honest, if you asked me for a description of this book I’d simply say “a Wattpad instalove fanfic from 2013 that maybe has Harry Styles as the love interest.” I didn’t expect much from this book, yet it managed to disappoint me.

Insta love pains my existence and more than often makes me want to gouge my eyes out of their place with a spork. I understand Flora liking this guy because he’s unique and different, but her saying “I love you” as soon as she met him took 10 years out of my existence.

ALSO please don’t ask me what the main plot of this book is about. We get a HUGE -and highly mediocre- plot twist towards the last chapters and I really don’t think we get a proper resolution to all of that aside from the letter at the end.

I saw a lot of people complain because of Flora’s behaviour towards her parents but let’s be real here. She’s a sixteen-years-old girl that gets treated as if she’s still five. And don’t even get me started about how her mother constantly gaslights her and her dad doesn’t care about her. Only family member that I think truly appreciates her is Will.

This whole toxic family is what I think ties the story together, because (if you really think about it) she likes Mick because he’s the first person to actually kinda care about what she wants and the first to actually show how he loves her.

To conclude this review... Read it if you’re bored or with insomnia at 4am. It’ll feel just like a fever dream.

Perfect for teenagers!

This was a book that shows how fast moving relationships can go and help explain them to children. Mick exited me and made me go back to my teenage years. That's was about 60 years ago so it's nice to remember.

Well, I sort of didn't finish this book, and yet I kinda did. To some this up in a few simple words, IT WAS TERRIBLE!! Everything about this book, including the cover, bothered me to no end. The story line was too fast paced, for starters. It was ridiculously faced paced. First, the main character went from yelling at her family and silently curing them to the ends of the earth. Then, one short chapter later, she is sneaking away with a guy she doesn't even know. UGHH!! I get being naive and everything, but this was beyond the naive, the main character was being a ridiculous little biatch most of the time. As the very short fast paced story went on, the relationship between the main character and her crush went one. And when I say went on I mean that after they sneak away, they starting kissing like two days of knowing each other, then the main characters crush brought her to meet his family. MY GOD! It makes me wonder if the author had this experience! Who does these kinds of things. It is more than likely me just being who I am, but I would at least like to know that the guy I like is not going to turn around and murder me when I am in the middle of blinking. That and meeting the family of the guy that you barely know is just not right. Again, it is more than likely me, but I want to know some one before I bring him to sit on the couch in the house of which I just happen to live in. That is just so weird and wrong on so many levels to me! All in all, this was a fast paced story that was ridiculously stupid.(There would have likely been more for this review, but some of the words I would have selected would not be the best, so this will have to do).

I really, really wanted to like this book. It sounded so cute. But I just couldn't get over how incredibly flaky and overly dramatic Flora is. It became ridiculous after a few chapters.

You just met this boy and suddenly you're in love with him? Wait, what?

Also, did she really think she managed to fool her parents into thinking she was in the bathroom for like two hours. My gosh.

My mother would probably bitch slap me if I ever spoke to her like that, I was kinda hoping it would happen to Flora.

And, of course, all was well with the happy couple after she accidentally insulted him. After all those minutes spent together, why wouldn't it be?

Sadly, that was as far as I made it into this book. About 28% in case you were wondering.

Maybe I'll try and pick it up again in the future. But right now I can't deal with this narrator.

Couldn't finish this, so it gets an auto one-star.

I can accept that teenagers are whiny by nature, and the main character did get dealt a terrible hand (I would have flipped if my family dragged me to a vacation and then taken away all music\books (I read mostly in kindles) because it might scare a possibly imaginary creature).

However, Flora managed to be extra whiny, extra bitchy, and all of the annoying -- plus as this was a first person book, I constantly stuck in her head with her. No thanks.

Furthermore, fuck the romance: the only quality her dreamboat seemed to be "He's super hot". Time went by, he seemed a nice enough fellow, but I personally am done with books where "he's hot therefore a perfect man" approach to romance tries to rear its ugly head -- the 50s Disney called, they want their schtick back.

I actually really enjoyed this book, although the love sprang up pretty fast.

One second "hi my name is Flora Fontain!"
Two seconds later: "let's run away to Mexico"

But I love those type of books.

How did I get this book? CATASTROPHE! My father completely WIPED my kindle, deleting 188 items. I was actually crying, it felt like all my characters died! Then my mum felt really sorry and downloaded the top twenty free books and a few cheap romance books and this was in them. It will never replace my Caleb or Conrad but boy it rocked! Give it a go and read it! Funny, humorous... Amarous and exciting on so many level, heh heh!

This book is kind of terrible, but still oddly enjoyable to read. I think the problem is there was a semi-decent story here, the main character Flora was kind of sweet, but the pacing let it down considerably.

First of all, she falls in love within about an hour of meeting this poor boy, within three they are in a relationship. If the writer had given them a few days to fall for each other then maybe I would have cared more about their relationship. And then, as quickly as it began, it ended, and the ending seemed incredibly rushed and also terribly surreal!

Overall I enjoyed it, but glad I got it on Kindle for free.

I like Flora. I'm glad that I got it for free at the time.
This is a quick story about Flora and her meeting her soul mate: the amazing gypsy MickeyD! :) Yes, I know he has a name but I love the nickname. I see how the romance can seem a bit...much...and it is much, but I do see whats going on. This is from Flora's point of veiw, she loves mickey, she doesn't really see his flaws. As much as I hate sappy romances, I know that when you really like someone, you get that way. The book was short so the review is short. On to the sequel!
