OK. So, I think I might write the review on the first half of this series on this book considering Cooper is the last of the first MacKensie brother set, so let's go.
Let's be honest here, I'm only reading this series because my favorite Jay Crownover has a book coming out with her characters set in Ms. Hart's MacKensie brother world. So I pulled this series up and it honestly didn't look too bad. A REALLY long series, but not really a bad series. They were short little novellas and I figured I could fly through them in no time at all. And I did, fly through these I mean. And they were...really with the exception of the first book, which I didn't think was TOO bad, this series is really not as good as I wanted it to be. I even tried to read the little extra novellas in between them all, they were like little extra scenes, which felt OK...except, they just NEVER hit the mark and I feel like Ms. Hart might have wrote them all weirdly out of order because the timeline is a bit screwed up in the extra little books.
Dane and Charlie's story wasn't that bad. They already knew each other, were already in love and all that jazz, so the shortness of that story didn't bother me so much. I thought it worked well. But the ridiculousness that is this series comes with the next book. THOMAS. Just ridiculous. "Oh, you ran into a tree by my house, I'm in love with you now." That's LITERALLY how that book was. Not even 12 hours and they are declaring their love. It was just...weird. Reilly was the SAME way. At least I felt in this book, Cooper's book, he knew the girl before everything started. That was something I guess.
Part of me doesn't want to continue, but I have a feeling Jay's book is going to have something to do mainly with the next set of MacKensie brother's and they are all short reads, so I might as well just finish them.
The saddest part is, Ms. Hart can write. It's just the stories that fall flat for me.
