In the present collection a few poems of important spirit are brought together, in which an awakening occurs, in this 8th volume of transmissions of the English poet to whom Beauty in poetry reminds one of what is sea, beach, mountains, wild swimming. There is something of this beauty in the range of poems in the collection printed here. The verses of the poet are concerned with the varied seascape, and we conclude from the continuing work of Harry Matthews' exemplary elevations in verse, an essential poetry from a poet who distils very fine verse in poetry. The poet gives us a complete and imaginative casting of his experience since his last volume (Idylls, 2021), forthright momentum of honesty, vision and inspiration that lets a fresh sea breeze and spirit break through for the reader. These insightful, little-known poems, by the English stylist are imaginative and in the selection provided by the Publisher.
Born in Staffordshire and educated in Shropshire, I pursued my academic studies at Reading University. My career began in journalism, working in Amsterdam, where I honed my skills in writing and reporting. Upon returning to England, I explored my artistic side, painting and exhibiting my work in various galleries. My passion for poetry, which had always been a part of my creative journey, led me to publish collections of my poems, often featuring my paintings on their covers.
Currently, I am engaged in Doctoral Research focused on the poetry of Richard Barnfield. I have published several collections of my own poetry and prose through my imprint, Harry Art Publishing. My work continues to blend visual and literary arts, reflecting a lifelong commitment to creative expression.
