Can she give up on her husband and stop keeping her life on hold? Or will their search for the truth reveal shocking new evidence that could change everything?
Beautifully written with a gripping mix of emotional drama and wholesome themes of trust, love, and the importance of family, the Waves of Mystery series is a fun and feel-good beach read that’s perfect for anyone who wants to kick back and be transported on a memorable seaside adventure.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
I thought this would be a short murder mystery story, but turns out this isn’t a standalone, but a continual series where you have to wait until book 6 to find out what actually happened and how the story wraps up. I did really like the story and was excited to see where it was going, but I don’t like that I have to read six seperate books to get there. In my opinion, this all would’ve fit in one 300 page book (in that case I would’ve liked to finish the story). For now, I’m leaving this series as it is, as I have plenty of other (standalone) books to read.
Slow start, but it picks up. Leah’s husband went out to do some last minute Christmas shopping a year & half ago & never returned & no body has been found. The police have given up hope but Leah & her twins have not. They still live each day as he will walk through the door any minute now. Leah is getting depressed & running low on money. She is baking & selling it out of her home to try to make ends meet. She’s having a lot of trouble with her son Riley who just can’t except the fact that his dad’s probably not coming back. He’s so angry & is taking it out on his mom. Leah’s mom calls her about them coming & spending the summer at the beach with them. Riley rebels & says he won’t go because his dad might come home & no one will be there for him. Riley takes all of his anger out on his mother. His twin sister Kennedy tries to help because she is the boy one he will listen to. They have always been close since birth & she can handle when no one else can. Will she be able to calm him down? Will she be able to get him to go to their grandparent’s house at the beach? What will they do for the summer?
I received this ARC Book for free & I am giving my review for free in my own words. I think this is going to be a good series!
A fun new series. Leah and her children are trying to pick up the pieces after her husband Scott disappeared 18 months ago. Her mother presents an option of returning home to Tybee Island for the summer. After some reluctance, the kids agree to go. Leah reconnects with a former classmate, and joins a group of friends for a girls’ night out. Talk turns to the handsome Jordan, a high school crush. What happens when Leah runs into Jordan at the grocery store? Can’t wait to see what happens next
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
Leah’s husband Scott has been missing for a year and a half. She and her children tried to find him but there were no good leads. Her parents invite her and the kids to Tybee Island for the summer. This is the first book in Grace Meyers new series. A lot of this book is getting to know the people involved and what the mystery is. Liked that Leah met with friends from her high school for a night out. Great beginning, can’t wait to see what happens.
I love this book. The characters are spot on. Storyline is interesting. Husband goes missing when he goes out for last minute Christmas gifts. Fast forward 18 months wife and children, a set of twins, boy and girl, are still trying to put the pieces of their lives together. Still no answers on were dad has gone. Intriguing story that draws you in from the first page. Very well written. I was given an advanced copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A true Mystery. A father/husband has been missing 18 months. His teen twins are dealing in their own way. Mom takes them to their grandparents for the summer vacation hoping to get closer and spend time together as the title says..........SECRETS...and that's where it leaves us.....this is a very enjoyable short story with really great characters. Ready for book 2.
Really good first book! A lot of emotions for the main character and her family to deal with. A trip to the beach to visit family might be just what they all need. Nothing goes as planned. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
Well, just the beginning of this new adventure. Where is Scott , the husband, who disappeared 18 months ago? How is Jordan, an old friend going to play out in this adventure? Reading on, we will see.
Good story with characters that share a past and a mystery of a person missing! The people share a past and start to get reacquainted! It keeps you interested in what might or might not happen!
A missing husband and summer on the island. A great start to a new series. Grabs you from the first page. Highly recommended. I received a free copy for a voluntary review.
This is very stressful for Leah, her husband disappeared with no clue. Having grown children is filled with anxiety and guilt out of our control. Good luck.
Was looking for some short reads to get me out of my reading slump… and I like this series so far! I finished this in one night and I am on book two. Little palette cleanser 🥰
