Hate might not be the right emotion for what Dahlia stirs in me. But I can’t have her, so telling myself I don’t want her is the only option. Especially since my dog won’t leave her alone. While I’ve been doing my best to avoid the woman I crave, my pup has taken on the role of her protector. He follows her every chance he gets. That’s probably for the best because there’s a serial killer on the loose and he’s got his sights set on her. At least, that’s what the ghosts keep saying. With her beast out of commission it’s up to the rest of us to keep her safe.
Her fae outcast
Her rogue captain
And me…her reluctant shadow
As much as I should stay away, fate keeps throwing us together and it’s not hard to see the reason why. Dahlia is unlocking me piece by piece.
My memories might be slow to return, but my power isn’t. Since arriving at Blackwood it’s grown by leaps and bounds, bringing one truth into sharp focus. I need her, forbidden as she is. She’s the light to my darkness and despite our differences our powers are clearly connected. If I have any hope of solving the mystery of who I am, Dahlia and I will have to work together to stop the Ripper before he gets what he wants. Her.
She is the key to all of it. And without her, I will never again be whole.
For fans of Supernatural and American Horror Story, USA Today bestselling authors Meg Anne and K. Loraine are thrilled to bring you another installment in the Mate Games Universe.
Warning: The Mate Games: Death is a spicy paranormal series with a cast of antiheroes utterly devoted to their heroine (even if they haven’t realized it yet). It contains a cursed Novasgardian berserker with primal energy, a dastardly pirate captain who deals in pixie dust, a possessive fae dragon shifter who is fond of hand necklaces, and a mysterious Southern gentleman who’d show her what he liked if only he could remember.
✅ Slightly unhinged love interests ✅ Reverse harem ✅ Sexual tension and smut ✅ Multiple POVs ✅ Magic / Shifters / Vampires / Demons ✅ Pace / Quick read ✅(🆗) Main character ✅🆗 Plot 🆗 Felt like a filler book
Objectively, I think this would be a 3-star book, but it is a quick and entertaining read so I think I will go with 3.5 stars
This book picks up right where Haunting Beauty ends, with Dahlia and Tor being stuck in a cell in No Man’s Land, and having to defend themselves. Sadly, though, after a fast-paced first few chapters, the pace slows down, and overall, this book had a filler vibe. The Apocalypse plot does not seem to progress much in this book, besides the epilogue featuring Death and hinting at her plan (but it all remains very vague).
This book was mostly about Dahlia trying to get Tor’s beast under control, and out of the No Man's Land. There are a few mentions of the Ripper on the loose, but that plot line seems to be forgotten for most of the book, which is annoying because we learned in the first book that the Ripper was after Dahlia specifically, and now he’s pretty much absent from the story.
Speaking about Dahlia, I feel that her whole personality in this book revolves around sex. Whether it was her having sex with her mates, her dreaming about having sex with them, or her thinking about having sex, it just seemed to be all she could focus on, which is a little sad because I loved her sass and spunk from the first book. At least there is more smut in this book, and still a lot of sexual tension too, but the smut cannot replace a real plot.
Cas is not off the hook (pun intended) after what he did at the end of Haunting Beauty, especially since it pushed Tor to turn into his beast, and now he’s stuck in this bestial form, with apparently no way of shifting back. It was frustrating at first to see how little remorse Cas had, but he did feel bad after a while, and I do believe that he realized that what he did was bad and that the consequences were serious enough to warrant a big change of behavior on his part. He remains a dashing pirate with his own honor code, but he did try to earn Dahlia’s forgiveness and do right by her, which is an improvement from the beginning of the book.
Because of what Cas did, Tor is now stuck in his beast form and needs to learn to control his Berserker, which proves even harder when he realizes that Dahlia has more than one mate, and he will have to share her. There was also something weird going on with the staff at times, and I am still not sure if they are trustworthy. It seems that they were trying to control some events with Tor, and I am not sure what they wanted to accomplish, or if they wanted him to succeed at controlling his feral side or not, so it will be interesting to see more and discover who is trustworthy and who isn’t.
After theorizing and wondering about Cain’s true identity, it was finally revealed near the end of this book, and I was right! He is still the champion of Hot and Cold behavior, and it added some delicious sexual tension in the book to see him and Dahlia tiptoe around each other. It was also nice to see that while he was being a jerk to Dahlia most of the time, and trying his best to keep her at arm’s length, he also made her feel safe with him, and was there to protect her when she needed it… Again, he was Mr. Hot and Cold.
Finally, there is Kai. Sweet, wonderful, and sexy Kai. He took up the role of companion and protector in this book, as Dahlia finds herself separated from her newly bonded mate, and it only pushes them to become closer and develop their own bond. I was glad for him to be able to spend more time with Dahlia because he’s been great to her since the beginning of the series, and contrary to Cas and Cain, he was never an ass to her and never tried to manipulate her or lie to her simply to her into her pants. He deserved some good time with Dahlia for his patience and respect.
On a side note, I listened to the audiobook for this one, and it was delightful. Just as good as the narration for the two previous series was. This cast of voice actors is truly amazing, and they deliver a stunning performance every time.
“I’d rather raze the world to nothing but cinders than hurt you.”
I have a sneaking suspicion Meg & Kim are psychic, because how else would you explain that one Captain Hook scene that I desperately needed to see (or hear)? YOU KNOW THE ONE WITH THE TAPES? If you read it you'll know what I mean. I said before that he was written for me and I definitely believe it all the more now. He's perfect.
Yes, he did something bad too, but he's a villain, it's expected!! Personally if I was Dahlia I would've forgiven him instantly, even though watching him be upset was funny. He's not completely off the hook yet though. Off the hook, get it? I had to.
He's fighting so hard to be my ultimate favourite and I think I might have to let him...but gosh, the others grew on me too, even more than they already have. Kai especially, he was so patient, understanding, even as a possessive dragon he knows how to share. And I lovee his friendship with Tor. I think he's the most mature out of everyone, which makes sense.
Tor, my sweet berserker baby suffered so much unfair treatment in this book, JUSTICE FOR TOR!!!!! They locked him up, and for what? Just because he went beast mode? NOT A GOOD ENOUGH REASON IF YOU ASK ME. Clearly the docs have never watched Beauty & the Beast, hmph.
Highkey felt like crying when Dahlia and he had to communicate through glass, it broke my wee heart. Like I said, unjust. Did they let him out though? Well you'll have to read and find out.
As for Cain, I gotta say my mind went in a totally different direction with him, so the reveal took me by surprise. Were the clues there the whole time? I'll have to go back and check. But honestly, his narrator would start talking and I'd go all starry eyed, so it's possible I missed something obvious. I'm looking forward to more scenes with him in the next two books, because he's finally opening up and not being a jerk.
His little dog (starts with A ends with double s, h, o, l, e) was the star of the show yet again, AND HE TALKS FOLKS!!! He's a real delight, and hilarious to boot. I'll have to go check out that chapter from his PoV when I'm done writing this.
I'm so curious as to who the Ripper is. I don't wanna think too hard about it, and anything I do think of doesn't make sense so I'm just ready to be shocked when we find out. And then I'll (hopefully) be all like "wait but the clues!!!"
I love love love this series and I can't wait for book three.
*Thank you to the authors for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Haunting Beauty book one of the Mate Games: Death series was just a teaser of things to come in book two Hunted Beast.
An asylum is where this series takes place so far and if you think you know what to expect with an asylum setting you couldn't be more wrong! It is like a gothic fairytale had bedroom time with a smutty paranormal romance and this is the result. Dark, sexy, and full of new twists and turns you could never have begun to predict.
Dahlia is finally learning exactly who has her back and who doesn't but the most surprising was Shadow Daddy... IYKYK. J.F. Harding brought Cain to the front and center of this story with his past that not only haunts him but also somehow haunts our girl too. When those secrets are revealed, you are not going to be prepared for that outcome.
I could be wrong on this front, but I do think that Kai and Tor are going to form the most unlikely of bromances. When John Hartley and Jason Clarke start their banter, it is the most delicious of accents you won't know what to do with yourself because it is like the most delicious game of ping-pong EVER!!
James Joseph as Hook or rather Caspian was such a delight! I was kind of in awe at how much he was able to bring this character to life. Then the characters arc throughout this book was just outstanding. You can't help but root for the delightfully naughty pirate.
Of course, we can't forget our leading lady, Stella Hunter. She never disappoints and I do have to say bravo to Kim and Meg for giving us a plus-size heroine who is not down on herself constantly. She owns what she has, and her men have absolutely zero problems with all that she has going on.
Samantha Brentmoor really nailed Dr. Masterson and Kiki. In the first book I was all about Dr. Masterson but this time it was Kiki. She is the best friend we all long to have. I really am hoping that we get her HEA at some point.
Okay, I've gone on long enough about my love for this book, but I do have to say that the added mystery with our resident serial unaliver takes this book to the next level. Hateful Prince is up next and I am just dying to see where this story goes!!
*ALC received from Audibly Addicted in exchange for my honest review. *
(audiobook) There were multiple mysteries in the first book, but the most interesting was who Cain is. And though Dahlia’s other lovers aren’t forgotten at all, we learn a lot about him here. Now I see the hints at his identity, but until the big reveal, I was clueless. Well done.
Between some flashbacks and his interactions with the other characters–most of the time difficult if not downright hostile–his journey toward discovering who he is was quite compelling. But I won’t spoil the truth. Let’s just say that the fairytale slash literature theme is still prominent.
But each character gets their own development arc. Dahlia too is learning things about herself that she never suspected. Tor is trying to find a way to control his berserker, and that means accepting Dahlia’s other love interests and sharing his mate. Hook needs to get back into Dahlia’s good graces after his actions in the previous book, and to come to terms with his malicious nature. Kai might be the one with the less interesting arc here–he’s way more open minded than the others, and is taking things as they come most of the time–but we still get some more information about him when cameo characters from other books by the authors come into picture.
The several side plots besides the big love story are developped a bit more too, though not all as much as I’d like. The serial killer acts a few more times, and there are more information given about him and his actions. Death appears again at the end of the book, and what she’s trying to do is still quite a mystery, though it seems her plans for an apocalypse are going well. Some side characters have things happening to them that flesh them out a bit. It feels like this series is more ambitious than the previous ones, but you won’t hear me complain.
As for the romance, there are still talks about how Dahlia is the one, though they don’t know why. As it was explained in the previous Mate Games, the mate bonds can be artificially created by the villain at work in the series, so I suppose it’s a fact that needs to be accepted as it is. For some of Dahlia’s lovers, it’s a bit more developped as they understand what a mate is. And I admit that there were a couple of more intimate conversations between Dahlia and one or the other that could lead to deeper feelings than an unexpected mate bond. But it’s still more lust and desire than real feelings in my opinion.
It’s okay though, as the authors explore a couple of unusual kinks–and more usual ones–through Dahlia and her mates. This book is sexy as hell. With a romance author as the main character, that was expected. I loved that, though she doesn’t have hands on experience, she’s still knowledgeable and not a pure creature waiting to be corrupted, in a sense.
The narration was still delightful. The narrators know their characters and they’re kind of tailor made for them, so you won’t find a fault in their performances. They’re joined by a returning narrator for the cameo characters from other books. A quality audiobook for sure, with a captivating hot romance between paranormal creatures. Can’t wait for the next book.

- Series: The Mate Games: Death #2 (linked to the other Mate Games series, ends on a cliffhanger) - Hashtags: #paranormal romance #reverse harem #fairytales #asylum #serial killer #ghosts #virgin #amnesia - Triggers: violence and multiple deaths, mention of past cult activities - Main “couple”: Dahlia Moore & (Tor Nordson/Caspian Hook/Malakai Nash/Cain Alexander) - Hotness: 5/5 - Romance: 3/5 - + all those cameos were nice - – still dubious about love
Seriously, this series is like crack. No, worse than crack. Lord, I have a book hangover that is out of this world. This full cast production is so much more than just narration. It is voice acting at its finest. Be it that growlier than growly growl from Jason Clarke (I haven’t recovered yet), James Joseph’s drunk, hiccupping Caspian, John Hartley’s and Samantha Brentmoor’s amazing accents, J.F. Harding’s character arguing with his dog, or the always stellar performance of Stella Hunter, probably my most favorite female narrator out there. And that set of characters … I truly cannot pick a favorite. And all of that is on top of an all-around intense, emotionally charged storyline so mysterious and suspenseful that I had trouble adulting when I’d rather just keep listening to the audio on repeat. My expectations for book three and four are through the roof, but I have a feeling K. Loraine and Meg Anne will keep delivering. If extremely spicy paranormal why-choose romances are your thing, you should make this series – or any other series of the Mate games universe your next read!
my guilty pleasure is this series. it's so fun and stupid and smutty and I can escape from reality for a bit. I absolutely love the corny pick up lines and dialogue.
I don't know if all the 4 men have delusions of grandeur or if they are actually as powerful as theyre being written. But if it is the latter then the whole concept of Jack the Ripper being able to best them makes no sense.
I found this book kind of suffering from second book-itis. The plot line is still very characters are still there but now its a little more boring and there's a little more filler than is necessary.
This money parts are still really excellent, the lets try everything in all the books ever concept is still lots of fun
But that said...
I good 50% if not more of this book is Tors alphahole posturing and grandiIng about how great he is , and how he going to kill everybody in everything inside until the he gets his mate.
And for anyone else that listend to to the audio book, you can only here that narrator doing Hemsworth doing Marvel's Thor "serious monotone voice" for so long. It gets boring really quickly.
The happy highlight in this book was the steady hand of the Dragon mate. And he finally got a little loving! But is still sticking back in a way that doesn't make sense for his alpha status. Yeah we know he's a dragon. He's patient. She mentions this repeatedly. But he would still be fussing or creating a pushback don't you think?
The sub plot with Caspian the pirate was a nice introduction of fun. Everybody loves caspian. The banter with this character is just top notch!
But one of the downfalls of this book is the whole concept of Jack the Ripper. First off it's pretty darn obvious who they are. I'm open to being wrong but seems like the solid choice.
Extrapolating from the other series we would surmise that this is somebody who is there to try and stop these guys from preventing their attempt at the apocalypse.
But why choose Jack the ripper? Because with the combined never mind individual strengths of each of her formates - how none of them if not any of the other people at the compound wouldn't have powers greater than Jack the Ripper is beyond me.
I mean even making it some other maybe even unknown villain or monster other than jacked up Ripper.
Unless there's going to be some sort of witty word play coming up but we will see.
Have much higher hopes for book 3
And if it wasn't obvious by now, Cain is actually. ....
haha you'll have to read the book ;) I'm not going to spoil it for you
This book really disappointed me. All of the questions that came up in book 1 including the sort of cliffy with Tor is completely ignored for the entire book. Except for a small mini chapter that is sort of shoved in at the end. The entire book was smut. Now I have no problem with smut, but if the book is written to include a plot with suspense, mystery, question, I want there to be some progress made. Or at the least for the suspense, mystery, questions to at least be mentioned in the book.
I also dislike when virginity of the FMC becomes this thing that gets a lot of focus. That it becomes something that helps drives the plot or even be a major plot point. The author of this series seem to frequently have the FMC as a shy, sheltered, virgin, that is uncomfortable with intimacy. Where the virginity is a big thing. Not my cuppa. Women already struggle to own their sexuality and not be labeled by some slur. The US culture has deep puritanical roots that traditionally are very sex negative. I like books that flip that script so to speak. I feel that having a focus on someone's virginity that it become this huge hurdle doesn't contribute to a more sex positive atmosphere.
Oh my goodness, I am completely obsessed with this series! It's like a potent drug that grips you and won't let go. Scratch that, it's even better - it's an electrifying surge of adrenaline in book form. From the amazing voice acting to the intense storyline, every element of this full cast production is perfection. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish, unable to tear myself away from the gripping performances by Jason Clarke, James Joseph, John Hartley, Samantha Brentmoor, J.F. Harding (and his arguing dog!), and the extraordinary Stella Hunter. And don't even get me started on the steamy romance and mysterious plot twists.

Does the mate games ever miss? No it doesn’t. Does the audio ever miss. Absolutely not.
There were so many open questions (still are!) in this series and we uncovered a few this round. I did NOT see them coming. The relationship, the world, the characters… I love them and can’t wait to read more! It was spicy, intriguing, and Dahlia and her men just kept the good times coming. Can’t wait to listen to more in this series!
4.5 stars! This book is so slept on! It has everything you need in a book! Plot, spice, entertainment, humor, territorial mates, paranormal why choose, banter! I am swan diving into book 3 right now
I really hate to give this such a low rating, but I must. I’m definitely in the minority, based on all the gushing reviews, and that’s great that so many think it’s amazing. To me, this second book just seemed to drag, even though stuff happened.
The whole ‘fairy tale’ element is a bit of a silly addition, and if I recall correctly, it was only briefly mentioned near the end of the second set, ‘Pestilence’. It has a bit of charm, but after the other two series, it just seems a little juvenile.
There are funny bits, of course. And a few scenes I enjoyed. But overall, my thought about this book is ‘Meh’. Also, too much insta-love for me. And constant sex or talking/thinking about sex gets old after a while. It kind of felt like a majority of the plot was sexy times, and the characters way too hyper focused on it.
And again, too much mentioning of RH in a RH setting. I get that it’s a main part, but it continues to feel like a Mary Sue who likes to talk about RH so much she put herself in a scenario. Maybe I’m being too harsh, but it is what it is.
I still continue to like Caspian the most, as his character seems to have more…character. The others are cute and sometimes appealing, but I think Caspian has them all beat as far as personality. That’s just my bias though.
I’m currently reading the third book, so obviously I like the series enough to keep going. But it isn’t as fulfilling as the first two sets. Alas.
3.5/5. I want to like this series I really do but it’s just meh. I’m not the “I like some plot with my smut” type but I’d at least like for there to be good plot if there’s going to be some. The first two books so far I feel like the guys the book is allegedly about barely have their POV shown and their time to shine is like the last 50 pages of the book. Also they mention the Ripper maybe once or twice and that concept had really good potential to make this book better. Furthermore I don’t think the authors’ writing style is for me. It just seems like a 17 year old wrote it at times and if I see “fanny flutter” or any other forms of it one more time my eyes may get permanently stuck where they roll. Oh well I’m not the DNF type and I have to finish a series no matter how I feel. Book 3 could be better right?
Dahlia really has her work cut out for her. She can't catch a break. Trying to save her Berserker turned mate, Reeling from Hook's betrayal, Dealing with Cain's hatred and accepting her bond with Kai and his dragon.
Not to mention there is a still a serial killer hot on her trail. Dahlia has had a rough go at things but the more time she spends with her various suitors she begins to learn a little more about herself.

Whispersync: ✅ Sure is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Plot 💭:
Dahlia is back, still queen of the mess, and trapped in a paranormal psych ward with her mates, her trauma, and a whole-ass murder mystery.
There’s a Viking berserker losing his grip, a cunning pirate who might actually be helpful for once (??), a dragon with trust issues, and the shadow daddy with a dark past he doesn't remember? Yeah, he’s extra broody this time.
Power is crackling under Dahlia’s skin. Secrets are rising. And someone "The Ripper", is out here killing patients, cool cool cool. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Audiobook 🎧:
This cast is stacked and they do not miss. They deliver every 👏 single 👏 time 👏
Stella Hunter is Dahlia in all her witty “I will stab you but also cry about it” glory. Jason Clarke brings the feral, tormented beast vibe. James Joseph gives Caspian that unhinged swagger. J.F. Harding’s Cain? Growly, broody deliciousness. John Hartley as Kai is still somehow the most emotionally stable despite the literal voices in his head. Samantha Brentmoor puts on the amazing Scottish accent and slays as Kiki (the type of BFF every girl needs).
*Bonus points for the way “Asshole” the hellhound is voiced, genuinely iconic. It was such a great surprise and Jason killed it with his Brooklyn accent.
This cast slays every single scene. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sizzle Scale:
Scorching:🔥4.5/5 - Hawt Diggty Dawg! Bite marks, tension, pining, and all the "complete the mate bond" moments. Phew! 🫠 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bookish Bite:
K. Loraine and Meg Anne continue to serve paranormal madness with just enough filth to ruin you. Their ability to juggle six unhinged POVs while still giving emotional payoff is elite storytelling.
This one’s darker, twistier, and somehow even hotter than the last. Dahlia’s not just surviving anymore, she’s starting to fight back. There’s suspense, swooniness, spiciness, hilarity and emotional depth. Everything I could possibly ask for.

This group did it again and crushed it with another phenomenal installment to the Mate Games: Death. Meg and Kim have a way of keeping everyone in their toes for the entire 4 book series, and things are just heating up! My biggest question from book one was answered but that just opened up the floodgates for so many new questions! And can we mention the spice?! It was off the charts! So good, as always! I can’t wait what the next installment brings!
The audiobook version of these books is magnificent!! If you’re even remotely interested in reverse harem sci-fi shifter romances, these books are great… but the immersive experience I’m getting from the audiobook version is worth the money, in my opinion. And I RARELY SAY THAT!
I spend a LOT of money on audiobooks… to the point where it’s a part of my budget each month. And I don’t get paid to do this, hence the stupid budget. So, if that gives you any reason to enjoy the audiobook version with the full cast, I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I have. 😈
This book was not as entertaining as the first one. While Captain Hook and Kai remain the highlights, I became quite frustrated with how Dahlia quickly moved on from Tor being left alone in No Man's Land.
There seems to be too much happening in this book, yet at the same time, it feels like nothing significant occurs. There is so much to do for Dahlia that she randomly learns things and then forgets them. We rarely see her writing or practising her powers. If someone asked me what actually happened in this story, I wouldn't be able to say. 🤷🏻♀️
Another great book to the series! The authors do a terrific job developing their characters and building the story. They bring a great paranormal romance with a strong chemistry and weave a dark, mysterious story that had me glued to the pages and left with wanting more with the cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to more from this duo of authors.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
**Audio Review** Screaming for this book! Hunted Beast by K. Loraine and Meg Anne was a seductive and twisted PNR romance that immediately sucked me back into this dark, dangerous, and mysterious world. These ladies keep giving us more clues that leave the reader pondering over so many theories. After yet another cliffhanger ending, I can’t wait to see where they take us next.
This audiobook is performed in multicast duet narration, and the cast keeps getting better and even more entrancing. Stella Hunter’s melodic tone highlighted Dahlia’s wit and desires. Jason Clarke unleashed an untamed growly tone for Tor that made you emphathize and long for his mate right along with him. Jason also delivers a humorous performance of everyone’s favorite little Asshole. James Joseph brilliantly captured Caspian’s confident arrogance while John Hartley’s warm tone proved Kai’s undying devotion to Dahlia. JF Harding’s rich southern drawl conveyed Cain’s conflicted and tempted persona revealing some secrets. Plus, Samantha Brentmoor’s light flirty tone for Kiki added the perfect touch of comic relief and her Scottish brogue for Dr. Masterson left me mesmerized. Once again this cast delivers!
Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a PNR why choose romance with a feisty, passionate romance author, an insanely handsome pirate, a raging beastly Viking, a tattoo-giving dragon, a mysterious shadow daddy, an uplifting best friend, dangerous screams, more mysterious Ripper deaths, protective alphas, steamy times in the woods, creating more mate bonds, secrets about the past, hilarious dog thoughts, and a cliffhanger ending that will once again leave you longing for more, then you will love this book! I can’t wait for more!
Now that Tor's curse has fully taken hold, he has to prove he can control his beastly urges and won't be a danger to Dahlia or any of the residents at Blackwood. Kai is still struggling with accepting his dragon and whether keeping the creature caged is more a hindrance than disaster prevention. Caspian is learning that doing things the pirate way may achieve his goals, but they can also have long-term effects and land him in the metaphorical dog house. As for Cain, fighting his attraction for Dahlia continues to be a Herculean effort, especially once his little shadow starts yapping his two cents.
Dahlia has got her hands full already dealing with these men, add in new theories about her own powers and supernatural identity, a benevolent spirit who's strength continues to grow, more danger from The Ripper's attacks and a girl can't seem to catch a break.
I'm having the best time trying to figure out what's really going on at Blackwood. So many Easter eggs and cameo's of other Mate Games characters, introductions of new ones that make me wonder what their role in this or a future turn at the apocalypse may be. I even loved the Swiftie clues.
The narration by Stella Hunter, Samantha Beentmoor, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, J. F. Harding & John Hartley continues to level up the listening experience. I especially loved the introduction of Asshole's voice. The way I howled (pun intended) with laughter on that reveal was real. Not just because of the narrator, but the attitude and accent was too perfect!
I can't wait to see what shenanigans abound in the next book, Hateful Prince.
Listened to the audiobook, and it never fails to amaze me.
Dahlia has to come to terms with Tors beast. Caspian is put into the doghouse...I felt bad for him 🤏 Kai protected our girl and was there to keep her company. Cain still struggled with his memory, but when it clicks and he remembers, oh I was giddy. Our favorite puppy A$@hole has a voice! Well only to one person, but the Brooklyn accent is 🤌✨️
Death...caging other horsemen? Chaos. Grim? What does she have up her sleeve.
And who is the ripper?!

Absolute perfection! I love the way the characters back stories are coming out. I’m so very happy that Cains was finally solidified. I love that Tor and Cai work so well together. I just really love these stories and the fantastical elements mixed with fairytale. Jumping into book 3 now! The narration is of course still perfect. Stella, Jason, JF, John and James are just the greatest cast.
Hunted Beast - book 2 in The Mates Games - Death series and it kicks off right where book 1 ended but now Tor has been locked up. Whereas Dahlia (FMC) is still trying to come to terms with how she is and as the book progressed she slowly found out exactly what she can do in regards to her powers. Add into that a pervy pirate - Caspian, the hot scot dragon - Kai and Alpha**** - Cain (who seems hellbent on being a idiot to Dahlia) and his sidekick dog (who had me in stitches with his wit and sarcasm). As well as The Ripper violently causing trouble for everyone and a scary ghost who seems to be focused on Dahlia this book definitely kept me on toes. Oh and not to forget the off of the charts hot steamy scenarios which were so good & a slight cliff-hangery ending. I'm looking forward to book 3 now.
Absolutely outstanding second book in The Mate Games: D3ath series! Meg Anne and K Loraine know how to write spicy paranormal romance books! You do not want to miss anything by this duo.
