He has a secret, but when mine is exposed… his will look like child’s play.
Two years ago, a hot werewolf stole my heart. It was bliss until he disappeared like a shadow in the night.
I picked up the shattered pieces of my soul and opened an agency to use my tracker skills and help others find the love of their lives. Oh, the irony!
Then Jake Knight returns, determined to drag me into a life of danger.
A war is brewing between St. Louis’s vampire and werewolf factions. A prominent alpha has been kidnapped and Jake needs me to track him before it’s too late.
Refusing him is easier said than done. It turns out Jake is my fated mate, and it’s impossible to deny him.
More than that, he has a secret, and it’s the reason he left me.
Finding out his reasons is enough to tempt me to risk my life and change my peaceful world forever.
This set contains all five novels in the series—The Tracker's Mate, The Tracker's Secret, The Tracker's Rage, The Tracker's Revenge, and The Tracker's Dawn—as well as the origin novella, The Tracker's Dream.

I gave it a chance. A real one. I tried. But I don’t even like Jake. I think he’s weak. We have proof mates aren’t always the same species and he chose to leave her anyway. He already knew she was his mate. We have proof that her mother gave birth to a shifter even though she isn’t one so he could continue his line with Toni even before he knew she was a wolf. Weak excuses in my book and every time they get all lovey even those he’s engaged to someone else makes me lose respect for them both. I like Toni well enough at least. That’s why I kept reading. I kept hoping she’d see Jake for what he is and move on, but that’s not what happens. Also she’s supposed to be this strong alpha and she just doesn’t act like it most of the time. I think she needs to stand up for herself more. Especially when it comes to Jake.
I’m not rooting for the couple and the rest of the story isn’t enough to overcome it for me. The writing is okay, world building decent, but this isn’t a blow your socks off kind of book for me and not liking love interest ruins it for me.
(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)
I had rated book 1 at 3.25 stars, even though I wasn't keen on the love interest.
I got the boxset and finished it. I thought I'd already done so and that this was a re-read but since I didn't right an 'avoid author' review, then I must not have done.
I like some of the world-building.
I mostly liked the MC. ---- Except where the love interest was concerned, most of the rest of the time she was okay if I take into account that she's only 21.
I found the love interest to be weak, and not alpha material. Sure he's only 23, but unlike MC he's been raised to be an alpha and yet for me he seemed the weaker, 'alphawise' than the new to were life, MC.
I really did not like MC's mother.
This is another series that would have got a higher score if it dumped the 'romance' plot line and just stuck to the actually interesting goodies vs baddies plot. If it had also dropped the spoiler stuff as well, then it'd have been a 4 start book.
First time read the author's work?: No
Will you be reading more?: Yes
Would you recommend?: Yes
------------ How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author) 4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author). 3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series) or 3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)
All of the above scores means I would recommend them! - 2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.) 1* = Disliked
Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)
I enjoyed this - very light but struggled with the FMC - I kept having to remind myself how young she was and why her decisions were … questionable. The MC very similarly questionable but again they’re so young I keep having to remember a 21y old is not going to have the reactions and emotional maturity of a 30+ . Still good, light, enjoyed the magic system and wanted more given we had 5 books of this but all in all great light magical reading and OH EM GEE go Damien! He was my fave !
I really enjoyed this series. It had great characters, a few twists and some surprises along the way. Add in werewolves, war, a mystery and two ex-lovers and the fun never stops in this wild ride. Loved it and found each story so so hard to put down.
Toni is a tracker witch. She can find people, even the ones that don't want to be found. She has no idea that the man that raised her is not her biological father. That is until she shifted onto a wolf. An alpha wolf.
I loved all the twists in this series and I almost thought it was going to answer all my questions. Now I can't wait to read more in the universe and see what happens to all my favorite characters.
