This is one of my favorite cookbooks. I have read a lot of cookbooks and definitely have my favs like Ina Garten's, " Modern Comfort Food". But this cookbook by Faye Levy is one I turn to, over & over again. We eat kosher so even though I love Ina Garten, I cannot use all of her recipes. But the main reason I love this book is that Ms. Levy does unusual & amazing simple things with vegetables. She also has several menu samples which I find inspiring and creative. And then, there are her little stories of origins that I find very interesting.

Got this as a gift from my spouse. Tried quite a few of the recipes with great success.

I like that it has a nice mix of Sephardic and Ashkenazi recipes as well as Israeli recipes. It also has menus for the festivals and sections with special foods for each festivals (potato pancakes for Hannukah for example).
