Fascinating collection of essays for this Tate exhibition companion. Focusing on the poetry and art of the Rossettis this book starts by emphasising the contributions of poet Christina and biographer brother William. However it soon becomes a book about Elizabeth Siddal and Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
The images are excellent and the chronology and background for them is interesting. I also like the focus on reclaiming the women of the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood as something more than mysterious muses, especially Elizabeth as a talented artist in her own right.
