There are so many people who want to cage me. My body, as a scientist experiment, or to sell me. I just want to live a quiet life with my guys.
Roark and Turner are my protectors, they worry I’ll disappear into thin air, never to be found again. I don’t want to be taken again. There’s a darkness inside of me that’s awakening. A need for revenge. To kill those who have wronged me, and watch their blood flow. Orion and Derek sense this, and are the perfect people to help me in this. Light and dark, the four of them keep me from losing myself.
I’m a melody, lost in the wind, and I’m trying to figure out who this new me is.
Will I ever find it ? The Lost Melody is book three in the Darkest Nights series, a dark reverse harem romance. This means that the female main character will have three or more love interests and will not have to choose in the end. Please check TW at the beginning of the book.
What an amazing conclusion to another epic series! Jenn was able to keep up the suspense, character growth, and heat through three deliciously thick books. I was sad to see Lennon and her guys go but it was worth every single page!
I want to give this way more stars but the editing and continuity is AWFUL.
Firstly, Grants name changes from Williams to O’Rilley which I was a bit annoyed about but didn’t think too much of it as it seemed to be a one off.
Secondly, we’ve gone back and forth between Turner and Roark having the pierced penis. In the first 2 books it was Roark with the pierced penis, and Turner has the tongue ring. This was a big part of the book when they showed Lennon a photo of Roark getting oral and they asked how they knew it was him and she said she recognised his piercings and asked if the tongue sucking had a piercing because then it would be Turner. Then there is a scene between Lennon, Roark and Turner and suddenly the piercings switch to Turner having the piercings. Then it goes throughout the rest of the book as Turner having the piercings. I got so confused I was put off the sex scenes a bit.
We never saw Derek and Orion having sex either yet either and there was a moment where Orion seemed interested in Roark but nothing came from it.
We don’t know anymore about what happens in the future. Yes, we heard about the band and how they work in the future, but what about Derek and Orion? They were meant to work for Greg but we don’t see this. We also don’t find out if it’s Turner or Roark who is the father, this could have been on purpose but I don’t know it just irks me.
Unless we get Layla’s own book, we don’t have closure on her relationship with Mav and Atlas. We also don’t have anything about James and what happened to their relationship.
Did we ever find out about Turners past? I feel like we got some of Roarks, Orion and Dereks but nothing of Turner. Maybe I missed it in one of the books but I don’t remember seeing it ever and I enjoyed finding out about their pasts.
Is she still seeing her therapist?
I just feel there were too many unanswered things, too many errors and too many plot holes for me to give it a bigger rating. I could easily give it more stars if the continuity is fixed as it really bugged me and took me out of the sex scenes.
The smut was great (except for the above point).
I feel like I should have read the other series first because Greg and that gang are way more than just mere side characters in this book. Plus Xav is from both so really it should be recommended to read the other series first however it just says there will be appearances from other characters from that book and this is a stand alone but it’s clearly linked with Xav and Tori’s past
This was a book. I had to close and then sit and think about a little before I wrote its review. The Lost Melody is book 3 of the Darkest Nights Series by Jenn Bullard. I have been lost in the series. Sitting on the edge of me seat waiting for this final book. I am not going to lie, book 2 was a lot. There were parts of it that were hard to read because you felt so much for the characters you hated to see them suffer. But something great about this last book is seeing them finally get their closure, their justice, their revenge and their happily ever after. You get to see the other side of the trauma and it is so incredibly beautiful. I can’t even begin to explain the love I have for these characters and how much I will miss them. Lennon is just a beautiful soul and I love that each of her men provide something different to the relationship and each other. Will O give in fully to what he feels for Derek & Lennon? Will Lennon except 0, will Rourke and Turner for that matter? Will Derek finally get to see the demise of Carrie and full get his redemption with Lennon and the guys? Will Lennon get her revenge and justice on well…. everyone? Will she be able to overcome what has happened to her? Will someone be able to use the trigger word on her again? What happens to Lennon’s Mom? Derek’s Dad? How will Rourke coup after relapsing? Will Turner be able to be everyone’s strength? I loved seeing Greg and the gang and the weaving of them in the Unwritten Truths Duet to this series. It isn’t imperative that you read that series first but I would strongly advise you to. It will give you a better sense of all the players, especially Greg, but mainly they are just great books so you should read them. All of these questions get answered and everything is tied up so beautifully! Thank you Jenn for the amazing story!
Loved the conclusion to the Darkest Knight series!! Lennon, Derek, Turner, Roark, and Orion have shown growth and have changed with all of their experiences. I think they are all perfect for each other in different ways. Each of the books in the Darkest Knight series and especially in The Lost Melody has captured my interest and kept me completely captivated. All three books (which The Lost Melody is included) are filled with lots of angst, drama, twists, turns, things going sideways, all the feels, surprises, secrets, revelations, and sooo sooo much heat (panty melting kind🔥🔥). Di finitely not for the faint of heart. But if you love dark romances, RH romances, and erotic romances (different than erotica) then The Lost Melody as well as the first two books in the Darkest Knights series will be a must read! I could not put any of the books down once I started one. I highly recommend readers read them in order so if you haven’t read the first two please read those first. If you have then you won’t want to miss out on the conclusion to the Darkest Knight series. As I am sure you already know I highly recommend The Lost Melody, Darkest Knight series, and Jenn Bullard as an author. I was new to Jenn when I started this series but I quickly became a fan. I loved reading the whole series and plan on checking out more of her books. Can’t wait to see what is next. Personally, I am hoping that Jenn will write a series with Lennox’s sisters (sorry could not think of her name and it’s at the top of my tongue) story. While waiting for Jenn’s next book I will be checking out her Midnight Confessions series and her Society of Lost Souls series. Happy reading!!
Let me first say that I really loved the series as a whole! I enjoyed all the characters and the story line overall and will definitely reread and recommend this series!
However - there were too many things I had issue with in this particular book to rate it as highly as I did the first two.
Some people already pointed out inconsistencies in little story details which I can overlook up to a point. What bothered me the most is that all through book 1 and 2 I felt like I was experiencing everything WITH the group, and this book felt like more often then not I was being TOLD what was happening. So much happened behind closed doors that I wish we could have seen first hand . There were also some random things that bothered me that may be nitpicky but it stuck at the end .
Despite all that- overall I adore Lennon (she's a warrior for sure) and her men, and I'm really glad she got her HEA. I hope we get to see more of her!
Again, I have some grievances and really think the whole series needs to be re-edited. There’s a part where a character is misnamed completely. I’m really confused about who has a pierced 🍆 because throughout the series it’s mentioned in conversation that it’s Roark, and turner has a tongue piercing. But then in some bedroom scenes, it’s turner that does. Or in another it’s Roark. Do they both? Cuz that was never stated. Also, also!! And spoilers, when Lenny’s mom is captured and they go to unalive her, Derek asks to do it and Lennon says her mom hurt him too… did I miss where Derek shares that with her? That was a huge plot point and I don’t remember him mentioning it to her at all. He tells the guys but I think it was while Lennon was gone. Maybe I just missed that part, but it was very significant and I don’t remember that conversation at all. And then, carrie’s unaliving is extremely anticlimactic! Derek goes in and relieves her of breath and then they walk away. No interrogation, no nothing. This woman @bus£d derek and tormented Lennon for what? Also, spoilers again, when lennon tells the guys she’s pregnant, they just tell her to have fun unaliving her mom. I’m also a little upset we don’t get a lot of Orion and derek exploring their relationship and if turner and/or Roark are part of anything with Orion as well. There’s passing comments and one wrestling scene and that’s it.
Overall, this series was a no from me. It could have been sooooo much better. The plot is there, but the writing style isn’t.
Having been left high and dry at the end of the last book, I was excited to read the last instalment of Lennon’s story and what would become of her.
Having escaped the hell that she’s known for a few months, Lennon has her men ready to help her heal, but Orion who Derek has become attached to comes along for the ride. Having also known Lennon from when they were growing up and at the institution, she’s wary at first but love can conquer all.
The story has many twists and turns in it, you worry about Lennon’s safety and how her health is constantly being challenged. She’s been to hell and back in the hospital and her nightmares make it very real for her and she’s constantly reliving the horrors.
Xav, Grant and all those who made her life hell will pay for what they did to Lennon, the boys will make sure of it. Make sure you read this to find out what happens.
Layla and Lennon, having discovered they were sisters at the end of the last book, have a lot to catch up on once Lennon is safe. Mav, Atlas and Layla have been touring after Jordan got rid of the other two boys in her band, but no real development between the three of them shows so I’m hoping this means maybe we get a book or two about her?
Lots of nail biting and being unable to put my kindle down until I’d read another chapter went on. Fab book Jenn
This book is the perfect conclusion to this trilogy!
Definitely starts off intense as you pick up where the cliffhanger left you in the previous book.
I don’t want to say to much because I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that it is definitely worth a read! It’s a story about love and growth, hurt, lots of steam, and vengeance. Such a beautiful mix that will keep you hooked until the last sentence!
Definitely a must read if you love dark RH, Music, and Chosen Family! (Definitely check the trigger warning before reading this book)

CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. Not anywhere near as intense as book 2 but still, just check them.
Have you read the first two books in this series? If not you should!! These books have a little bit of everything. There's love, heartbreak, action, suspense, comedy and drama and of course spice. Jenn brings these characters to life and helps you have all the feels. I am at a loss for words. Jenn has done it again. I love Len and her men so much. This was a beautiful heart wrenching story of someone having their voice and mind stolen literally and figuratively and finding it again...with a lot of O's between 😉 The Lost Melody is a heartbreaking, and yet totally beautiful, conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. It starts off pretty intense, as it picks up right where the cliffhanger of the previous book left us. Lennon is so strong, and we see her heal from all she went through in the previous book and we get character growth, steam, and plenty of revenge!! It will keep you hooked until you finish the last page. Jenn did an amazing job not 'glossing' over anything to do with Lennon's safety, mental health, and any of the guys and what they've been suffering. This was such an amazing wrap up for Len and the guys and im so sad it is over. I know we will see them throughout other the books coming up but still.
You ever hear the phrase, when someone shows you who they are believe them? Well, Jenn has never once shied away from telling us how much she cries or is in pain when she writes her books. I've believed her before, but now? It's solidified that she will always make me cry, but slowly put my heart back together, and that's exactly what she's done with Lost Melody.
I finished this book within a few hours of starting it because once I began I knew I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else but this book. Thankfully we pick up right where the last book left off, ya know the cliff that we were thrown off of? We're back over there now.
I honestly don't want to say much because there's so many breadcrumbs and twists and turns that could give something away. But! I will say that this story continues to wow me with the love, hurt, some v10 lence, character growth, steam, and plenty of revenge! It will keep you hooked until you finish the last page. Jenn did an amazing job not 'glossing' over anything to do with Lennon's safety, mental health, and any of the guys and what they've been suffering.
There's much to discover until the very end of the book, and I honestly can't wait to see what comes next for a few of the side characters that Jenn left "open".
This series has kept me on the edge of my seat. The cliffhangers always hit you like a brick. This is the finale, though, so yay, no more cliffhanger! Then again, this is the end of Lennon's story 😭.
Lennon has proven that no matter what life has thrown at her, she's no quitter. This book embodies that sentiment. Regardless of the abuse she's suffered, she continues to be able to care for and love those around her. Surrounded by her guys, she heals and gets stronger to help take out all those who hurt her.
What an ending! I couldn't put this book down! I wasn't expecting the twists this series took. I absolutely adored Turner and Roark from the get-go, and this book makes it 100% clear they're Lennon's guys. They're quick to remind her that what happened wasn't her fault. Derek did not leave a great 1st impression, but he grew. In this book, you really see the darker side to him come out in order to protect Lennon. Orion was a late addition to the harem, and I love him 😍. I loved getting to see characters from the Unwritten Truths duet. I want a novella of Lennon and her guys or heck a spinoff book/series for Layla.
This was the perfect ending to this trilogy!! So let’s talk about it. 😉

💭This book was dark and delicious!! I thrives in this darkness and enjoyed every second of it. Lennon is a very strong FMC and that is definitely my vibe lately. The spice doesn’t hit until WAY later in the book (for good reason) but when it does hit?? 🔥 It was so so good! Orion is my fave guy 🥹🖤 I love daddy O! If you like rockstars I highly recommend reading this series!
I was unsure to continue this series after the 1st book but it was good enough to continue and I'm so glad that I did. Lennon and her guys are truly amazing. I love all her friends and family except her dad. I wish the writer would of did something positive with him honestly but anyways I can't wait til the novella comes out and Laylas book and I have to wonder I think she will be with them Atlas and Mav I see it but if it's a RH too I have a feeling the other 2 will come back at some point since they grew up together. Or maybe new people or person either way I love her sister too. Again this was an amazing series. I cried more then I wanted too. But was happy too. Read it and what's your opinion. I was glad it was Rourk or Turners since they've been together for 10 years but I'm curious too they automatically thought it was either of theirs but it could of been Derek's since they were together before she was kidnapped. That's the only thought I had. But I love that they live together too. It's not like they don't have the room. And besides Greg's family has 2 family with them as well. Please enjoy reading.
This story starts where the previous one finished, in the middle of Lennon's attempt to escape from the facility, when she meets Orion. She has no idea who she can trust, and having seen him in the facility with Dr Xav, why would she believe him? Luckily this all turns out ok as the rest of the guys are there and get her out safely. This was just the first of many encounters for poor Lennon in this book. She has so many bad things happen to her, and needs so much to recover, but the guys are all there for her, and their love grows as they all try to recover from their trauma. I loved the way all their relationships developed, especially Orion! He thinks he as no emotions, but he is the sweetest of them all. I love the way that he helps Lennon through her dark times, and is all caveman everytime something again happens. Xav's net is so wide, there seems to be always someone after her. The emotions were high in this book, as was the spice! I loved this great conclusion to this series and can't wait to read more from this author especially in this world.
The author did e drugging she said come true. I got the recommendation for her through a Facebook group I'm in. The first books I read were Tori and her guys. Grrr those guys almost made me break my Kindle. Well that series led me straight into this one. Yes her cliffhangers are killers. Luckily for me I found these series were completed. I believe this one is a little darker. I don't normally read contemporary RH but this one was very good. Characters and world builds are great and plots as well. No gratuitous sex scenes but great heat. I've read a lot books with trigger warnings and never had a problem but I did get a bit triggered on the second one I believe. So I really looked into myself to find what could have possibly done it and finally realized that I felt that the characters , to me, were acting stupid and I got mad which is what bothered me. Sorry I'm weird. I'm glad though they may be broken their pieces fit and that they found some light in their dark.
I love this series and book three was the perfect conclusion to the story. I mean, I still didn't want it to end and want to know everything that happens in the future, but I know Jenn won't disappoint in that area :D
I don't want to say too much because I dont want to give anything away, just this: The story is full of growth and love and hurt and steam and vengeance and it's just a beautiful mix that won't let you go even after the last sentence.
The smut level is off the charts and it never feels like too much still. Jenn manages a perfect balance.
If you enjoy dark rh, (make sure you check for potential triggers still, there's quite a few) and music and chosen family, this is a series for you. Also check out Jenn's other series "Unwritten Truths Duet" that plays about a decade prior to these books. The duet is not needed to read this trilogy, but it explains some things :)
Thank you again, Jenn, for having me on your team!
The Lost Melody is a heartbreaking, and yet totally beautiful, conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. It starts off pretty intense, as it picks up right where the cliffhanger of the previous book left us. Lennon is so strong, and we see her heal from all she went through in the previous book. Luckily she has her men Roark, Turner, and Derek to help her with it all. Orion is there too, and we get to see how Lennon reacts to him, and whether or not a relationship between them is possible. Orion is one of my favorite characters, and his growth is a beautiful thing to see. We get to see more from Jordan, Layla, Atlas, and Mav too, which is great because I love all 4 of those characters. Though it starts off intense, there is plenty of laughter as well, and Jenn does a beautiful job of balancing it all out.
This was another phenomenal series by Jenn Bullard, and I can't wait to see what she does next!
The Lost Melody is the third and final book in the Darkest Nights Trilogy by Jenn Bullard. This rock star contemporary romance did not disappoint.
💜 rockstar FMC 💜forced proximity 💜 why choose 💜 found family 💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice
We pick up in this book right where book two leaves off and it’s just complete chaos. We follow Lennon as she tries to recover and stabilize after her whole ordeal at the facility. New relationships are formed. New routines are discussed. Mysteries are worked through. Does Orion end up fitting in with the group? Will Lennon establish a family relationship with Layla, her dad, and her Uncle Jordon? Will the group find any peace?
This trilogy takes you on such a wild ride. It was so good. There are some very dark elements, so if there are things you can’t read, then check out the TW. I loved how this is a shared world with The Unwritten Truths group as it made for a deeper and richer story. I can’t wait to see what else is written in this world.
This was an absolutely perfection finale to this series. I laughed, cried, and felt just about every emotion while reading this book; it is definitely an emotional rollercoaster that I didn’t want to get off! This book picks up right where book 2 left us desperately hanging on for more.
Lennon’s story is not an easy one so be sure to check the trigger warnings. I loved how much support the guys gave her but I really loved her internal strength that came through. She proves just how fierce she is throughout this book. Her guys are perfection but Orion stole my heart! He is everything and I really wanted more of him!!!
If you enjoy suspense, heartache, lots of steamy scenes then grab this book now; you won’t be able to put it down. There’s also so many side characters that I hope to see in future books because they are so well written. I loved this series and hope to see more of Lennon and her harem in the future.
This is book three in the Darkest Nights Series. After two cliffhangers on previous books. I have never felt such trepidation starting a book, the author is a loose cannon and you never know what she'll do next!
After escaping hell on earth at Hidden Hills. Lennon has a hard recovery and long journey to find herself again while getting revenge on those who hurt her. All her men are there right alongside her, supporting her in every way they can, including newbie Orion.
I'm so glad to finally know what happened to Lennon and that she got her revenge the way she wanted. I'm also stoked that Orion joined the harem, the beautful cold psychopath needed this found family for his humanity and I want to squish him with love.
Please check trigger warnings before reading if you have any.
Amazing conclusion to this series. This picks up exactly where the second book left off.
We get to see all the aftermath of the rescue mission and the plans to get everyone who was involved. The author dealt with Lennon’s trauma really well, both from her perspective and how her family handled it.
Sometimes it felt like things were moving really slowly and then others suddenly two weeks had gone by. There was a lot of attention being given to some of the side characters so I’m assuming there will be other spinoffs for Layla, maybe the nurse, and probably one for a new character from the club.
It was nice to see how all of this has affected Lennon and her music which I was happy to see brought up and dealt with. I missed the music in the second book.
I really enjoyed this final book. It had pretty much everything you wanted to happen after the events of book 2 closure wise. Orion is still my favorite, and watching his growth was amazing.
But it seemed like there was something missing. Scenes with the guys together were few, and it would have been great to have more with Orion and Derek. It was more fade to black or off page mentioning. What spice there was was super hot. But I could have definitely used more.
I also felt that there was a lot of time taken up setting up the obvious spin-off coming. There seemed to be a lot of focus on all the other people in her life that I didn't read as much with her and her guys as I would have liked.
In the end I was still pleased with how it ended. A definite HEA. Excellent closure.
Please read the trigger warnings so we don't need to have that discussion.
The Darkest Nights series is amazing! This is book three; go back to the beginning of you haven't read the first two.
Lennon has grown to be one of my favorite FMCs. She takes her weaknesses and forges them into her strengths. She has her moments of self-doubt or self-pity, but quickly moves on to...more orgasms, of course. She asses the world as it pushes her around and shoves it right back, twice as hard There are plenty of HEAs in this world and they include children.
I absolutely love Jenn Bullard's writing. With each book I find my mind straying to side characters because they all feel so damn important.
What an ending to an epic story. Poor Lennon was put through the wringer, so many bad things happening to her and her ability to bounce back, not allowing her demons to take hold have you enthralled. Xav wants her gone as she is a big risk for him to stay alive. Whilst she tries to mend her self and become what she had lost, her boys surround her with love and understanding. It is such an emotional rollercoaster and I love how Orion is taken into the fold with Turner, Roarke, Derek and Lennon. She is emotionally and physically supported by her guys throughout her ordeal. Unexpected surprises and bumps in the road lead to an explosive well deserved HEA for Lennon and her guys. A 5 star must read for the entire series, you will not be disappointed.
I am at a loss for words. Jenn has done it again. I'm normally not looking for anything deep in genres like this because smut is normally good for one thing... But Jenn did such an amazing job weaving all the books and characters together, that i was pleaseantly surprised! I didn't want to finish the book because I wasn't ready for this to end. I love Lenny and her men. This was a beautiful story of someone having their voice stolen literally and figuratively and finding it again...with a lot of big O's between lol. Jenn is really honing her craft, and I am so excited to see what she comes up with next in that beautiful and sometimes scary brain of hers!
I'm so sad that I've finished this book, I love these characters so much and I don't want to say goodbye to them. But this book is amazing, it carries straight on and Lennon has to learn to survive, post Hollow Hills, while all manner of things continue to be thrown at her. Orion is a late addition to the group, but he doesn't disappoint! This man has major BDE! I would've loved to have seen a physical relationship develop more with the other guys, but they are all at it like rabbits by the end!! Loved Greg being a major character that showed a lot more of his 'job'. I'm so sad that I have to say goodbye but there's always reread!
This Trilogy is a masterpiece, addicting , and so full of feelings just brilliant. The writing is exquisite and the character development well they are incredible and I fell in love with each and every one. This kept me on my toes and so addicted and invested in each and everyone. Lennon is one amazing fierce strong woman andxwhat she endured was heartbreaking but coming to the other side is something else and with her men standing beside her was with so much soul and pride and strength to lean on. My God these characters are just so real its like you can see and feel it all. Bravo Jenn you are amazing and I can't wait to seexwhat you come up with next.
I completely & utterly love this series. It's made me laugh, cry, & catch my breath in nervous anticipation at those twists and turns and cliffhanger moments. I feel like I can't say much more without spoiling this amazing conclusion, so I'll say I loved seeing how Lennon & her guys grew closer & pushed through everything that has & is happening and I love all the side characters adding to the good and bad moments. And this time you won't need to fear another emotionally brutal cliffhanger, but I am hoping Jenn Bullard will return one day to the world & characters of The Darkest Nights series.
After everything Lennon and her guys have gone through, this is exactly the ending I needed. The strength Lenny shows as she heals and takes revenge shows us that even after going through what she experienced did not break her at all.
As Orion and Lennon get to know each other, I loved watching them both grow as people. Orion will forever hold my heart. The way he fits with Derek, turners and Roark has me cracking up and shaking my head.
I loved seeing other characters that I have been missing and look forward to seeing what else Jenn gives us and how she will have these characters we love pop up.
This series had me in a choke hold the whole time. The ending made everything worth it tho. I love how Jenn showed how trama does always just go away and the flashbacks and little triggers that can happen at any time and the simplest things. I loved all the guys too how they didn't once question how Lenny wanted to handle things. I love how they all never question Orion coming into the group and moving at his pace and showing how truly being g accepted feels and want nothing from him as long as Lenny is happy!! Such a great story!!
