After years of torture and humiliation at the hands of those who were supposed to be her family, Teryna, the half-fae daughter of the human ruler, King Marius, is finally free.
But when Teryna witnesses human soldiers capturing fae and magical beasts within Wixle Forest, a place no human should be able to enter and no fae can escape, she knows she needs to figure out how and why.
While seeking answers new, uncontrollable, magic begins to surface in Teryna, magic her mother told her she would never have, so Teryna sets out on a journey to warn the fae queen and get help with her magic.
Along the way, strangers become allies. Secrets that will change her forever are revealed. Lies that could break her unfold, and the world Teryna thought she knew is turned on its head. Bound Magic is an 18+ Slow build Reverse Harem Romance novel, meaning Teryna will have more then one love interests and will not have to choose between them and more will appear in book two. #whychoose It contains explicit sexual content, graphic language and situations some readers may find uncomfortable.

The story is unique and well written and thought out. The characters are developing and the relationships between them are growing -you can see the start of the harem and it has the potential to be very interesting
I will be interested to read the next installment.
High fantasy with dark undertones. Fated mates and a chosen one. I love everything having to do with the Fae, and I found myself easily lost in this book. Love the worldbuilding and the different creatures that are encountered. The ending though? I’m fairly certain I need to read the next book asap because I’m freaking out!!!
This book was an amazing read that grabbed me from the moment that I started reading it. It moves along at a great speed making for an easy read. You will love these characters and no matter what happens you want to see them overcome whatever may try to prevent them from succeeding. This book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.
Teryna is the half-fae daughter of the human king; tortured and humiliated simply for existing she eventually manages to get free and start a better life. But when she spots a group of humans capturing and torturing fae and magical beasts, she knows she needs to find out what is happening, and do whatever she can to prevent worse from happening. Together with a dark fae, she starts a journey to inform the light fae queen, in hopes that she'll be able to help.
This book is the fabulous debut of a new writer, of whom I hope to see many more books in the future. There are triggers in this book, but most of them deal with past trauma and suffering, from main characters who still manage to be able to love and care for others. I love the slow building harem, not knowing how many fated mates Teryna will eventually have and who they will be (although some are revealed in this first book). Despite the slow building harem, there is still enough spice in this first book for readers who prefer that, but nicely balanced with story and plot development.
I absolutely loved everything about this book: the slow building harem, the fated mates trope, the world building, the main characters Teryna and Nico, the multiple POV (with a slight focus on Teryna), ... I definitely recommend reading this book!

This book is amazing written and kept me on the edge of my seat, even though it is a slow burn. I can not wait to find out what happens to the group in the next book!
Bound by Magic is a new and exciting book by first-time author Juniper Cole (such a cool name) and she has done a fantastic job. This high fantasy reverse harem is filled with magic, people of color, ancient grudges, fated mates, powerful creatures, intriguing fae, family drama and so much more. The main character is Teryna (a poc), who is the half-fae daughter of a human king, was in the forest when she came upon human soldiers stealing fae and magical creatures alike, using magic they had no business having. So she takes it upon herself to journey through the light fae kingdom Wixle to see the fae queen. A lot of interesting things happen on the journey there and Teryna discovers things about the past as well as some things about herself. Nothing is what she expected and it looks like her journey has just begun. I have to say that this story is giving me Snow White vibes and I love it.
After her mother died Teryna had no one, not a soul to protect her from the Dark Queen (her father's wife). The woman is evil and so is her son Marius who happens to be Teryna's half-brother. Something is seriously wrong with him, the man is a psychopath. He enjoys hurting people, making them suffer and his favorite person to torture was Teryna before she escaped. Teryna has survived living in a dungeon and being tortured for years with no hope in sight. It just shows how strong she is that she continued to live after so many would have let go and she didn't let what she went through shape her in a negative light. Teryna is a good soul, she cares about people and creatures, willing to put herself in harms-way just to help them, she's a protector. However, all the trauma that she's has suffered through has left her with not only physical scars but mental ones too. Teryna suffers from crippling anxiety, anyone would if they've been through what she has but she keeps pushing forward.
During her travels, Teryna comes across Nico. He saves her, she rescues him and they form a bond as they travel together. Nico is a good guy, who has been through some stuff himself and has Teryna back. The bond grows stronger between them as they journey and things do get very hot and steamy. Nico and Teryna connect in a way that takes them both by surprise but they are good together. She doesn't know that much about the fae and Nico informs her about what she's missing and Teryna gives Nico something that he's never had before.
This book has one of my favorite things, a magical forest. Not in the sense that the forest itself is alive but it has a magical barrier and is filled with magical creatures, like Finley who is a shadow wolf (yes she is as cool as she sounds), deadly plants (that are more dangerous than they sound), and is the home of the fae. The fae in this world are broken into two species with three territories. There's the light fae, who funnily enough have brown skin and light hair, who lives in Wixle and is ruled by Queen Elara, they are the nicest of the bunch. Exiles and criminals have Truzin, a desert wasteland that not many fae want to go to but I have a feeling there is more there. Finally, there's the dark fae, who have pale skin and dark hair, they live in the Dark Jungle and are a very mean bunch. The history between the fae is complicated and the history between the fae and the humans is devastating. There is such a divide between them, each of the fae sectors and the human, and things are getting worse.
Bound by Magic was a great introduction to this world. Like I said I loved the Snow White Vibes with the evil stepmother, weird things going on in the forest, and dark magic. Teryna is a strong character with a big heart and I already like her along with a few of the other characters that have come about. I'm not gonna lie Juniper gutted me at the end, like damn, did not see that coming. Such complete and utter devastation and then it ends on a brutal cliffhanger. Like, why? Why do this to me? Bound by Magic is the first book in the Fae Forest series and I am happily looking forward to reading the next.
It took me less than two days to read Bound Magic and I had a great time following the story of Teryna, a young half-fae female that had been through hell on earth because of humans' hatred for the Fae race. After years of being held captive, tortured, and starved, she is granted a chance to live freely. And when she comes across a group of creatures captured by the humans' soldiers, she decides that she will rather risk being captured again, than not help her kind to escape. And this decision may change her life forever.
Bound Magic is an extraordinary journey through the Fae Forest, full of different magical creatures, adventures, thrills, and mysterious events. I really enjoyed how animals and characters interact with each other, the feelings of empathy, care, and understanding are palpable between them. The writing style had me engaged in Teryna's story from the first page and had me easily invested in the feelings that grew between her and the mysterious Dark Fae male. As a romance enthusiast, I must admit that I had to stop myself and breathe slowly a few times before moving on from the intimate scenes - it was spicy as hell! The story has an interesting plot that still has many secrets waiting to be unraveled, and it ends with a slight cliffhanger, and so I'm really looking forward to reading part two!
As much as I enjoyed the world-building and all the spicy moments, some parts of the plot felt too fast-paced, which is my pet peeve when it comes to such rich and detailed stories. There were also some events that I felt were lacking background explanation, and which did not contribute much to the plot. It confused me once or twice but did not influence the general story.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! I'd definitely recommend reading this book to every Fae Fantasy fan out there! I give it strong 3.5 stars!

I devoured this book in one sitting and literally stayed up until 2 am in the morning because I was so engrossed by this book.
I absolutely love Teryna, she is a feisty, strong and independent half fae, but she let her walls down once she got to know Nico. Nico is a bit dark, mysterious fae, with dark purple almost black hair. Nico has a sidekick Finley who is a big giant wolf. So Nico might be my first book boyfriend? 🤷♀️
I was a miserable train wreck a couple of times in this book, especially when I found out about the cruelty Teryna suffered from the hands of her step family and dad. It shattered my heart. But I also think this is a part why I loved Teryna so much. She was a victim but now she is a survivor.
Bound Magic left me with a lot of process and pondering about. I want to know what happens in the next book considering book one finished with a double cliffhanger. 🤯
On the Reverse Harem side of things in this book, it was mainly focused on Nico, but towards the end Teryna attracted a few more other characters. So I think there will be alot more action between the other characters in the next book. I was happy how this was set out though. I loved the build up of the story and it was nice to have a solid relationship form between Teryna and Nico as partners.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to reading more in the series. Thank you to @juniper.cole_ for introducing me to your book.
3.5⭐️ Unrealistic dirty talk and smex scenes (IMO) but the rest is interesting enough so I think I’ll continue with the series :) The writing was good and I am invested in the destiny of all the characters and future of all Fae on this island too!
There’s some descriptions of torture and its consequences, it’s not terribly gruesome but at the same time some people may have triggers and it’s important to know beforehand 😅
The harem grows with time and very slowly but the pace of the relationship is middle burn I would say.
There’s a little of Dom/Sub there.
I was especially interested in this book because of the promised disabilities (hearing & seeing) which I like a lot in books. In this sense Bound Magic is pretty inclusive although there’s no blind character yet.
Teryna is the half-fae daughter to the human king Marius, and has been tortured and humiliated her entire life for it. She is now free, but finds other magical beings being done the same way and needs to find out what is happening.
I adored Teryna's character and how strong she was in everything she went through. The story was really well done, and I love the authors writing style. Everything reads well, and the story is fascinating to read.
It's a very slow burn romance and you see her harem building, but it is incredibly slow. There is still some spice to keep romance readers intrigued, I would've preferred there to be a little more.
Okay this book had me turning pages from the jump. I was interested immediately in Teryna and wanted to know more about her. Nico I was also enthralled with asap. Their love did seem to come on fast and strong like they thought they were in love and going to be together forever almost immediately. Which at first I was like okay this is weird BUT then we find out why and it all makes sense and Im like OKAYYYYY the caretaking and sweet words all make sense lol. I have a feeling who else will be in the harem but only book 2 will tell us more which I OF COURSE ordered already.
The CLIFFHNANGER is TERRIBLE!!! Juniper is on my naughty list FOR SURE
Wowzers! Incredible writing with an engrossing cast of characters. Need. Next. Book. Now!
TW: As the blurb implies, the main characters endured abusive upbringings and seriously deranged families, and they do discuss this at times. The book also begins with the Teryna being tortured, but she escapes within a few pages. For reference, if comparing the fae "dark romance" scale of this book to Sarah J Maas's ACOTAR (horrific aspects largely glossed over) vs HOEAB (dark experiences central to story), it definitely leans more to the grittier latter (minus all the cursing). That all said, the main theme of Bound Magic is about the main characters healing, falling in love, and fighting for a better world.
Such a great first novel by Juniper Cole! I loved the world that she created! Teryna is a half human/half fae that spent most of her life being abused by her evil half brother. Even with her horrible upbringing, she, somehow, remains a strong woman with so much compassion. Along her journey she meets Nico, an intriguing fae, and Finley, an incredibly amazing shadow wolf! Finley stole the show for me! I want a sassy shadow wolf! Such a wonderful book but I cannot believe that cliffhanger! I’ll be needing that second book. ASAP!
This book is such a great start to an epic story and the female MC is going to be badass! I loved the different POV between several of the characters and the multiple fated mates is *chef's kiss*! Teryna, the MC's character development is amazing and I love watching her grow with her magic. The only thing I didn't love is the cliffhanger of an ending! I need to know what's going to happen now!
Juniper Cole had done an amazing job on her first novel! Teryna is such a strong character with a horrible past. The characters is the story are absolutely wonderful. The storyline is great. This is a first novel by new author that you DO NOT want to miss out on!.
Good Teryna is a survivor. She has been in the dungeon from age 10 till 16. While there she was subjected to every torture imaginable. When she escapes she trys to lead a normal life until she stumbles across faes and magical creatures being captured. She decides that she must take the knowledge she knows to the Queen of the Fae. She gets rescued by Nico who turns out to be a dark fae. On the way to the queen they encounter various adventures and the chemistry between the two developes. This is an interesting read and I will read the next book.

Bound Magic by Juniper Cole is a dynamic debut novel.
It follows the story of half-fae, Teryna. Daughter to a well-loved fae queen and human king. The two married to bring their nations together. Tragically, as a child, Teryna's mother dies and her father goes on to marry the Dark Queen.
Teryna is physically abused throughout the rest of her childhood until she makes an escape with an old friend of her father's (before he clearly got brainwashed by the Dark Queen).
So, the story really gets started when Teryna discovers the Dark Queen's soldiers using a "black book with blood red pages" and evil onyx stones to capture fae and magical creatures in the forest.
Teryna goes on a mission to inform fae queen, Elara, about these human soldiers who have been capturing the fae.
This is a whirlwind adventure through the forest as Teryna heads towards the fae queen. There are lots of wonderful scenes in the forest under trees, in shacks, and caves. On the way, she meets the very handsome (purple-haired: oh yeah, baby!) dark fae, Nico, who adds a splash of sauce, emotion, deliciousness, and very hot erotica!
(He's also really helpful as all the scary monsters of the forest start rearing their ugly heads.)
This story's for you if you love magic and magical beasts! Oh, and gender equality (who doesn't?), hot sex scenes, and a sprinkling of polyamory.
On a personal note, I also loved the fact that many of the characters have dreads. It reminded me of my dad who had them. Dreads aren't common in literature. That, for me, felt familiar as home.
What is fiction if not to make you remember or imagine those who have loved (or will love) you the most in life?
This book tugged at my heart strings!!! I had a lot of trouble putting it down. Teryna is a complex character who immediately sucks you into the story and makes you cheer for her wins and boo at her losses. Juniper Cole did an amazing job with this book and I honestly can not wait for book 2!
I enjoyed this slow to start, RH story. The characters were great. Magic and Fae. Fated mates. Twists and turns. I cannot wait for the second installment.

I was so excited when I first heard about this book and I was definitely pleased with it. I absolutely loved it and can't wait for more! This is a top read of the year that you do not want to miss!
In this story Teryna battles epic monsters, falls in love, and finds a family she never knew she had. From a sad beginning to an epic ending, she's faced with many trials with her companion Nico. I loved and I mean LOVED all of the epic creatures that Juniper wove into this story, as well as the forest with its beauty. For her first novel, she did an amazing job! I can't wait for the sequel!
First off, I appreciate it when authors have a foreword on some general CW and also if it's a slow build/cliff hanger. I love that Juniper started the book with that since it makes you know what's coming without super spoiling.
Now the book itself was SUPER interesting, I loved the heroine and her background and it really keeps you turning the page. I love her background but honestly the best part is that she's a POC. The world building also is really well done with making the reader feel immersed in the world, but also fascinated.
The ending was warned to be a cliffhanger...and it is a pretty huge cliffhanger honestly. I'm pretty sad that's where it ended, but excited for the next!!! Spice is there, but it does leave you wanting more since it's tied in with the slow burn as well.

This book has a strong, well-developed and an interesting story line with twists and unexpected turns keep you reading and turning the pages. It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. Amazing world building that is detailed and imaginable. I felt like I was right there watching, feeling, and experiencing the book...not just reading it. The atmosphere created and characters were so realistic. Strong, interesting, and fascinating characters that are well developed and diverse. This is a fast-paced intriguing read! Everything kept me wanting to read the next page. Teryna have been through so much and the punches keeps coming her way. Her journey is far from over. She found a mate, but what about Cal? Her first love? I'm super excited for the next book! It end in a cliffhanger but I'm all her for it. Teryna is growing with her magic and she have more and more people to help her along the way.
I received a ARC from the author, for my honest review. My opinons are my own.
This is a gripping storyline Teryna, the half-fae daughter of the human ruler they have tormented her for years, when she is freed she finds more of her kind and creators being captured and his treated,.She will risk it all on her journey for help. This is filled with drama, action, chemistry, suspense, cruelty and romance. Leaving a cliff hanger ending

What a way to start. Bound Magic is a debut by Juniper Cole and she didn’t disappoint. This book is fairies meets 50 shades. There is some world building and things to learn about characters & their worlds but not hard to follow. She lays out the story well, which makes it a exciting & easy read. There is definitely a dark edge to the story so make sure you read the triggers! I love the gritty & spice and there was definitely spice 🔥. Worth the read. Not a long read so perfect for a quick in between!! And the cliffhanger….this book will get you hooked.
This interesting and exciting read follows Teryna as she escapes from the prison set up by her tormentors. Her step mother and step brother have imprisoned and tortured her for years but now she’s free. In an unexpected place, she meets her mate but has others that she doesn’t realize are hers too. As magic flows and is regarded as evil and captured by the evil Queen, a new evil is searching for Teryna. Deceit, lies, love, secrets, and truths will all be revealed before the end of this journey.
