It was published as a collection of four short stories Ab Mera Intezar Kar, Bas Ik Daagh-e-Nidaamat and Aaj aur Kal and Husna aur Husan Aara. The novella Husna aur Husan Aara (English: Husna and Husan Aara) chronicles the upheaveal in Dil Shaad's life, a well-bred woman who takes major pride in belonging to a noble family, by the unexpected entrance of a beautiful young woman named Husan Aara. It exposes the mentality of our society that compartmentalizes people according to their backgrounds and doesn't provide any prospect of repentence.

Husna aur Husan Ara, 3rd book of Umera Ahmed I've finished in a week. The words are not enough to describe Umera Ahmed's work. This book is her another great work that consist of 4 different stories, Husna or Husan Ara, Ab mera intezar kar, Bs ik daagh a nadamat, Aj or kal. But the most amazing, breathtaking is Bs ik daagh a nadamat. This one has no match it was just mind blowing.
A story of two girls; one belongs to a noble family, and the other is a Tawaif . In this society, where Twaifs are considered a filth, this story highlights the morality issues and depicts the notorious notions of people, who compartmentalizes everyone according to their religion, gender, passions, work, compulsions, necessities and whatnot? People are considered human beings at the end. This novel has a really good lesson that we should give every person a chance; to live and to breathe, according to his own desires and passions.
I don't know how I bought this book. Because i often see the name of a book before reading it then i read it's summary and if the name and summary are interesting then I start reading the book. But before reading this book, I didn't like its name, but still, thinking that it was written by Umerah Ahmed, I bought it.And when I started reading this without knowing it's summary, I came to know that this novel is the collection of 4 stories. And as I read those four stories, I realized why I hadn't read them before. The four stories in this book were instructive and I am glad I learned a lot from this little book. And what I learned from reading them, I would definitely like to discuss here. The first story was "Husna aur Husn Ara" and after reading it I learned that the assumptions we make about people are not always accurate. Sometimes the people we think are bad, do so much for us that we can't even think. And the people we trust the most can break our trust. " Ab mera intezaar kar" this story taught me that how single person can break dreams of many people for his own benefit and how many lives can be saved if we put our ego aside. . "Bus ik daagh-e-nidamat" was also a great story and the lesson in this story was that If a person ever does bad to us and then regrets it and apologizes, we should forgive him. Because when someone does something bad to us so there is some fault in us too, it is us who give others a chance to do wrong. "Aaj aur kal" This ten page story also contains a lot. And this story teaches us that nothing lasts forever and if we are anything today, we will be replaced tomorrow and this is how the world will go on.

I think these stories are more of a social lesson rather than complete novellas, and as Umera mentioned herself, they should be treated as Popular Fiction, not literature. That doesn't lessen the beauty of this in anyway, though. I loved all stories in this book, especially the second and last one ( which is why I finished it overnight, haha!). Would recommend to my pakis who want a quick and inspiring read!
