Hadiza wrote in the style and manner of her illustrious father, the late Dr Yusufu Bala Usman. She was frank, brutal but non-judgmental. She placed the laws and the facts before the public and told us how she fought to abide by the laws and regulations of NPA as a citizen and as a patriot. She was thwarted by the forces of retrogression in borrowed gowns of patriotism. I am glad she chose to tell her story because in doing so she exposed the hypocrisy that has become the hallmark of poor governance in our country. It is a depressing story because it exposed the extent of corruption and its stranglehold on our country. Her story is the story of our country and its political leaders and their business partners. It is one more instance of how good people are prevented from giving their best to the country. That Buhari who promised to kill corruption allowed a woman committed to his avowal to be treated this wretchedly is tragic indeed. I commend her courage, her sense of public service. Yes, she stepped on toes, diseased toes, rotten toes and the toes of a blessed but cursed nation. God bless her.

It was a page turner but I think the author was a bit biased, she can't be completely "right" she's human after all.

The book is an eye-opener to the challenges and struggles of those who stand against corruption in Nigeria. The book is also a critique of the Nigerian political system, particularly the corruption and nepotism that permeate all levels of government. She is unapologetic in her condemnation of these practices and advocates for a more transparent and accountable government.
One of the major themes in the book is the fight against corruption.
