This is another short story in Amber Ford's "Thunder Elite Special Ops" series.
James Thorne had been stabbed, his team were in danger and outnumbered but they had to fight on, the only thing that they could do for James was to set him free and tell him to run and save himself, but where was he going to run to ?
Completely exhausted and loosing blood he stumbled across a deserted cottage, he immediately flopped onto the couch and passed out.
James had a rude awakening by an irate blue eyed blonde who wanted to know what he was doing in her cottage, bleeding onto her couch. James had a hard time trying to convince her that he was a member of a USSOU , she still didn't trust him, she wanted him out but she was a doctor and he needed her skills.
Rachel was a US citizen but had been working in Portugal for quite a while, what were the US military doing undercover in her adopted country ?
The relationship between Rachel and James was tempestuous but he was quickly falling for her.
Things didn't go as planned and when their lives were in danger Rachel knew that he would be there for her...............or would he ?
This is an entertaining short story that can be read in an hour, a good way to while away a lunch hour.

James and Rachel met under far from normal circumstances, yet they formed a bond in a few days that was the start of something special. Rachel fixed up James and they got caught by the bad guys. Rachel had some reservations about James and her past made her go to her safe place for a short time. James over time and with patience helped him see what could be possible and over time they ended up in a HEA. This was a nice quick read and finished up aa pretty good series. Put this series on your TBR list and get them all they are all action packed and end happily. This is a good series for a long lunch as the pages fly by and pretty soon, you’re done and on to the next one.

I love Ambers stories, James was a bit short for my taste, but I enjoyed the dynamic. The loyalty between his team members was great. I had to re read the rescue because it lacked a bit of flow to the story. (Saving him, with her remaining just outside the door was a tad unbelievable) Overall 4 out of 5 stars. I always enjoy her descriptions of the characters, and can visualize their thoughts, that truly makes a great read.

The final book in this series. James and his team are on a mission overseas and end up fighting for their lives. James is injured and gets away, finding refuge in Rachel’s house. Rachel is an American, who happens to be a doctor, but also has wounded heart. Caring for him in her home, then both getting captured by the bad guys, they go through hell and back, both physically and emotionally.

Another great read with all the excitement you can find in a book. James has to work to get the trust from the woman who rescues him and saves him from a stab wound. Get this book to see how their story ends. Excellent read. HEA.

This is a great end to the series! So much action, steam, chemistry, and great characters. Amber writes great books! This book is now my favorite out of the series! You need to read this series!!

Heart-warming! Amber finished the series with a bang! Lots of action, lots of steamy moments, the love between the two characters was warm, genuine and raw... love it!

Another short story. Love the dynamics between the two protagonists. She saved him and now he has to do the same. No cliffhanger.
