Tongue Fu! At School: 30 Ways to Get Along with Teachers, Principals, Students, and Parents

Rate this book
Would you like to learn how to quickly resolve conflicts with students, parents, fellow teachers, principals, coaches, and school board members?

This book is for educators that want to learn real-life responses to situations faced everyday in the classroom, on campus, in the front office, at extra-curricular activities, in staff meetings, PTA meetings, and district meetings.

The author, originator of Tongue Fu! (a trade-marked communication methodology for turning conflict into cooperation), doesn't waste time on theories that have no relevance in the real world. Readers will learn specific dialogue to help them: end arguments by focusing on solutions; persuade others to stop, listen, and see their point of view; handle hassles with humor; communicate with helpful language; keep emotions under control; and turn resentment into rapport so that people have the incentive to get along.

This book is full of fantastic and simple advice for improving your communication skills. It can be hard for me to encourage myself to read work-related materials at home; however, I really liked this one. It was easy to read and every tip was very straight to the point. I felt like the author really took care to make this book as practical as possible. There was nothing in the way of filler or advice that probably wouldn't work. It was slightly idealistic at times, but I really would like to find a way to use many of these strategies. I think they could be very useful.

This book helped me to say polite phrases with authority. I manage to talk confidently and speak appropriate words to people who has high position in companies, religious leaders and researchers. Also, I gain friends that I can speak my mind out with them; and partners that I can work with simply. Highly recommended to people out there who sometimes needed to say something that wouldnt harm their career patterns. Highly recommended.
