The alien opened its mouth revealing four tusks and rows of pointed teeth. A cap of green skin formed over its forehead, carved and hard like a turtle shell.
It spread its arm. Raised them out at its sides. And took a heavy, wet step towards me.
I finally forced my legs to move. I stumbled back.
"Are—are you friendly?" I choked out in a tiny voice.
Robert Lawrence Stine known as R. L. Stine and Jovial Bob Stine, is an American novelist and writer, well known for targeting younger audiences. Stine, who is often called the Stephen King of children's literature, is the author of dozens of popular horror fiction novellas, including the books in the Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room and Fear Street series.
R. L. Stine began his writing career when he was nine years old, and today he has achieved the position of the bestselling children's author in history. In the early 1990s, Stine was catapulted to fame when he wrote the unprecedented, bestselling Goosebumps® series, which sold more than 250 million copies and became a worldwide multimedia phenomenon. His other major series, Fear Street, has over 80 million copies sold.
Stine has received numerous awards of recognition, including several Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and Disney Adventures Kids' Choice Awards, and he has been selected by kids as one of their favorite authors in the NEA's Read Across America program. He lives in New York, NY.

Time for another Series 2000 book review! This time I'm reading a sequel. The title being Invasion Of The Body Squeezers Part 2.I remember reading this as a kid and not loving it.I also remember not hating it either.I got this book at the bookstore where everything is twenty five cents. My copy even still has the inserts for the Goosebumps fan club. The story starts off with a summery chapter basically recapping the story.Jack is obsessed with aliens. He has a neighbor that's really strange and sees a monster in his house. He sneaks in and discovers it was all movie props. And his neighbor works in special effects. There is also this meteor heading towards earth and its all over the news.He picks up a meteor when it lands at his feet and the aliens basically make Jack do weird stuff. And that's the recap! The actual story begins with the meteorite breaking open and a small lizard like creature emerges.Jack is freaked so he tries to escape but he runs into his teacher at the front door. The teacher is very worried about Jack because of the way he left.Jack tries explaining about the creature, but if course the teacher doesn't belive him until the creature shows up.The teacher thinks the creature wants a hug and the teacher hugs it only to be stabbed with sharp claws and the alien enters the teachers body possessing him in the process.Jack notices the teacher now talks with a weird stutter with the letter" t"at the beginning of every sentence. There is also this weird green slime stuff bubbling in his ears.He tries to hug Jack. Jack's mom and his little sister.Billy ends up popping up and the teacher leaves but as he's leaving Jack sees the teacher hook a mailman.Jack immediately remembers Mr.Fleshman from the last book.He heads over to his house and Talks to him about what's going on. Mr. Fleshman is basically not worried about anything. He tells Jack to make a list of all of the people that he knows is being invaded. After this, the story gets pretty formulaic. Jack is trying to stay away from people that are getting invaded. Like police officers, Lots of school teachers, and,At one point , even the news anchor gets invaded. The book doesn't really get any different until towards the end.I'm not going to spoil what all happens at the end, but it's really good. I read this book as a kid and and I'll admit. I don't remember any of this stuff that happened. There is two twists that actually tricked me.And one that almost trucked me if I didn't remember the front cover of Revenge Of The Body Squeezers, a third book in this series, then it would have tricked me agian.I give Invasion Of the body squeezers part 2 a four out of five stars.I thought this book was pretty mediocre up until the end. But the end is where all of the good stuff happens ,in my opinion
Honestly it definitely is not meant to be read that way. But it didn’t feel like we missed much. I don’t know how we both missed that it was a part two, but here we are.
This was fun. There was quite a bit of action. It was kinda funny watching the boy who cried alien explain the alien invasion and no one listens to him. There was a decent twist at the end, adults will probably see coming at least.
But overall it was a good time. I don’t think we’ll double back for part one, just because both my daughter and I agreed we didn’t really need it. (I could be wrong, who knows?)

This book can be described in two words: Repetitive Banger. I like it a bit more than part one, which is much different than my original take; I used to think this was a big downgrade thanks to the second half of the book back in 2021. Boy did that change! Now getting to my positives, I think this book was, well, really fun. It’s a good read all throughout, and it keeps you entertained. The aliens are really cool creatures and are executed well and are implemented well too. The annoying side characters are less annoying than they were in the first book, so that’s good. Mr Fleshman’s big reveal at the end of the story was not very ‘shocking’ (pun intended) but it was still really cool in terms of potential designs and defeats, to be pretty vague. I loved my time with the book and I generally enjoy alien stories in Goosebumps. But there are some negatives, starting off with the repetitiveness. The story does some different stuff from the first book, but it really rails on that. It’s just rinse and repeat until the end; get person to believe me, they don’t believe me/get turned into aliens, and repeat for 70 pages. Is it a fine and fun story? Yes, but it’s repetitive. Another thing that bothers me is something that was clearly set up in the first book never being brought up again, and it involves tennis balls. It was abundantly clear that tennis balls were the alien’s weakness in the first story, stupidly fucking obvious in that one scene, yet it was never mentioned again. It pisses me off. And another thing involving weaknesses—there was a new “weakness” introduced that was hinted at during the story two times, and when Jack put it together, it turned out that it was just a bunch of fake-out-hinting. Bruh. The fuck. Moving on, the story gets an 8.5/10. Slightly better than first book because spooky ahh aliens.
I skipped reading the first part (mainly because I don't have a copy), but I am still caught up on where the part one left off as the prologue of this book summarized the first book in about four pages and this started with a really action packed opener which I thought is great but suddenly that momentum paused to something redundant of the main character being dumb.
I already read reviews about part one where I've been told that the first part is mostly redundant and from what I know off based on this book's prologue, it's mostly a big set up for what supposed to be a big event of the alien invasion, something like War of the Worlds type of survival story and what this book delivers is pretty disappointing as what I really expected based on the cover only happens for like 4-6 pages.
The titular Body Squeezers are barely in this one, it reminded me of how the symbiote from the spider-verse works where this alien parasite just possesses you which this book presents taking humans as their hosts, I think this is kind of a personal thing but the villains in this story are human forms which kind of lessens the intensity than the usual monster and kid chase in some Goosebumps books. at the least other Goosebumps stories has more better alien stories such as Brain Juice and Egg Monsters From Mars (kind of an alien story I guess?)
This book could have been better if it was only in the length of a normal 120 page Goosebumps book than a two parter.
This book picks up right from where the first leaves off. After the little action/suspense sequence that the first book left off on resolves, the second book goes through a repeat of much of what transpired in the first book. Ugh. Aliens are coming. Must warn everyone. They won't believe me! Must warn people some more. Have to convince them aliens are coming. No one believes me?! What the hell?!?!?! Ughhhhhh. I really wanted to like this two-part story. I think it's cool that R.L. Stine created his own twist on the sci-fi classic book/movie. I think that this book did also have a couple of parts in it that were a little bit creepy. But overall, I found myself getting more bored with this book than I did with the first. I liked the premise, but thought it was executed very poorly. Too repetitive and Jack has got to be one of the most unintelligent G.B. protagonists out there. (Also, the ending sucks) I give this one a 1.75 / 5 stars.
Overall, both books as a whole, I'd probably rate them 2 / 5 stars. Not the worst G.B. books I've read, but far from being some of the best, either.
The invasion is on! After much anticipation in Part 1, Part 2 delivers monsters on the loose at last—and they're quickly taking over Los Angeles! Can Jack "Saucer Man" Archer convince his friends and family that real-life aliens are possessing everyone they hug? Or will they, as usual, mock his wild claims?
Not gonna lie, I worried the first book's tense build-up would be wasted on a lackluster finale. But fear not! The story concludes with expert misdirection and an unexpected climax — not to mention one final twist.
It's especially exciting for Goosebumps to delve into danger on an epic, global scale. Usually the villains are more one-on-one and limited in their path of destruction.
In a series already bursting with numerous iconic monsters, the Body Squeezers are too often forgotten. As a non-hugger, I found their method of body snatching to be particularly sinister and maybe even unsurprising. Hugging is such an awkward, unnecessarily intimate social tradition. Now I feel justified in keeping people out of my bubble! :D
This is the second half of the story begun in Invasion of the Body Squeezers Part 1. The tension building portion of the story is over; it's all action in this part. There are many twists and turns in this story, some obvious, but some genuinely surprising (of course, I think the twists would work much better for readers in the intended age range). The ending is abrupt, but better than the ending of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the obvious inspiration for this story).
Protagonist Jack Archer is one extraordinarily determined and impressively athletic child. He keeps fighting as everyone around him is taken over by the invading aliens. He still desperately needs mental health treatment, though.
Now finishing up Part 2, the story as a whole was pretty exciting and fun to listen to. I really enjoyed this Sci-Fi horror entry into the world of Goosebumps. The second half had some fun surprises, my only wish was that it would have showed the aliens in their true creature forms causing mayhem instead of them in human forms. It did have a decent cliff hanger and I believe there is another book that continues telling the story on these race of terrifying alien creatures. I'm looking forward to what is in store next for the Body Squeezers!
This book picks up right where part one left off. They have landed. Jack is desperate to save the town from these alien creatures. He can't seem to escape them. His teachers, parents, friends and even the weatherman have become affected by these creatures. Mr. Fleshman lied about who he was...
The ending was pretty abrupt and I wasn't surprised with Billie's comment at the end but this was a fun read and definitely creepy as hell. Who wouldn't be scared when their town is under attack by aliens??
Begins with an unnecessary recap of Part 1 (in which nothing happens) and only gets worse from there as aliens start hugging people to take over their bodies. This 2-parter should've been a no-parter.
So it turns out the epic two part story is nothing more than a basic rip off of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Except now they hug? I guess I should have expected thay but it's ridiculous that the events on the cover never happen. 3 stars is generous, it's more like 2.5.
Better than Part 1. I liked how this fun little 2-part story unfolded in Part 2. Reminds me of The Faculty (1998) which I first watched in 1999 and now reading Body Squeezers 26 years later, this was like a fun little time warp back to the late 90's.
This book was so much fun! And I think I will always love me some goosebumps forever! It was such a light and quick read but so much plot woven into it!
Here we have the denoument to Stine’s two-part Goosebumps 2000 books about the body squeezers, evil aliens that are trying to take over the planet by spreading from person to person and taking over their bodies. Their victims try to further the invasion by tracking down other potential victims and hugging them, so that the alien hosts can be passed from one person to another until the whole city is taken over.
It’s a decent read and works as a standalone, which begs the question: Why does the first Invasion of the Body Squeezers book even exist?
Reviewing both parts together. It bored me when I was younger and it bored me now. It's twice as long as a normal goosebumps book but it's probably the most pointless story of all of them. I think this would be too long even if it was one book... it should just be a short story and it could probably easily be edited down to that without losing anything important because most of it is just stupid filler.
This story starts off with the captivating paranoia of Jack Archer, spying on his quirky and mysterious neighbor, Mr. Fleshman. With frustrating family members, taunting friends, creepy voices, and an impending national doom, R.L. Stine saves this book from being absurd and cringe-worthy. The mystery and sci-fi suspense is enough to make a reader run to the bookstores to find out what happens in the sequel...........
Konyol ah, kurang menarik. Hah!!
Way better than the first. That's why it took me 20 days to read, had no interest in it, but surprised. much more suspenseful than the first and "action" picks up quickly.
Though there are some questionable moments. For example why is Jack being chased by most aliens but not all, example the bus driver didn't try to hug him. Bah I'm nitpicking. Story is fine read it whatever.
